Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

Marla, your daughter has such a beautiful furrow in her brow :)

D23 is the new Disney club magazine. I have 2 issues of their new magazine so far, its a beautiful publication.

Haven't gotten too many details out of her

Her and a girlfriend and their dates went together, from what I have heard - the boys left early - not even sure they stayed for the prom portion

The girls stayed for the afterprom - Kara said she didn't spend all of her 'monte carlo' money - but tried her hand at blackjack for awhile

She did win a door prize

her and her date only danced together a couple of times - she said he thought he looked stupid out there on the dance floor

So, not sure she had a good time or not

She did say no one recognized her but once she fell off of her pink spike high heels, they figured it out who she was - :rotfl2:

Okay Lord help me if my daughter has that kinda look on her face in prom pictures I'd smack her  And ::yes:: you know I would :scared1:

Sorry you didn't get to share the moment with her. I bet she will look back and be sorry for that decission. Perhaps it will be when she has a child of her own :sad2:

Marla, you are way nicer a mom than I'd ever be :rolleyes1

I can't wait until the day she calls me up whining about her kid and I am just going to laugh my self silly

hi all!!!
Aisling....just LOVING the pole photos :lmao:I'm with Tigg - not trying that out....i'd be falling right off!!!

hey Marla - how beautiul Kara looks...so sad you didn't get to meet her date - but kind of sounds like a 'dud' night anyway...so sad for a senior prom. Ryan's is next sat (16th) - he's going alone as the gal he asked is from another school & wasn't able (or didn't try hard enough) to get her permission slip in to his school - has to be signed by her parents & school principal. Oh well - he's okay going alone.

He's then going to a 2nd prom with his friend Taylor - to hers on 5/23 - i'll be in Iowa - but (hopefully) Dale will get lots of great photos....

and then it's graduation day...have the invites out - moved his party from my original idea of Mark & Jen's property to Seascape Resort...Just rented a Suite for the wkend...will be kind of a mini vaca for Dale & I once the grad ceremony & party is over....having it catered - so really not much to do ...get the drinks & ice there i guess...going to do just a little decorating...
so hard to believe graduation is 4 wks from today....

I hope you are all well - guess i'mn going to go find the Oct 2010 cruise thread...catch you all soon - have a truly WONDERFUL Mother's Day

BTW - has anyone heard from Kelly & Brian? What day was "Matthew" born???

I haven't heard anything. They're probably too busy loving their new baby. Or else she hasn't given birth yet?? I don't remember the date.

Brenda, congratulations to Ryan on his approaching graduation! How busy you must be, with graduation, proms, a wedding to plan, a trip to Iowa...all good busy-ness, so I hope everything stays stress-free.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms! Milk it for all it's worth, because we deserve it!

Yeah, see what you missed? Jill was going to give free lessons!

OMG!!! :scared1:

I had a few pole dancing lessons from one of my ex-personal trainer's - it was her speciality... Mmm, anyway, I could not get over the BRUISING!!!! My arms were black and blue - suffice to say, I had 3 sessions before calling a halt. T'was not for me... :sad2::sad2::sad2:

How many of you joined D23?
I did!!! :thumbsup2

..I'm thinking England is close enough to Germany that a pre(InauguralCruise) trip thru some of Europe in 2011 should be on the plan. Your sis, Aisling, Kaz, Nan, you, me -TBH: if we could get at least ten people we'd qualify for group rates...nudge nudge, wink wink :)
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

...If we dont do the inagural in 2011, we should do a Wonder cruise that year when it moves west!
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: I love all your ideas, Tigg!!! :goodvibes

Kaz, I was able to use my AmEx in Harrrod's and in Toys R Us. Other than that, no other shop I went to accepted it...
I guess that shows I just don't get out there and shop enough, Aisling!!! :lmao::rotfl::lmao:

...Your country is beautiful, so green and clean. And I love how everyone I met is so proud of their history. The historical sites are very well maintained, and the mix of the old and the new is wonderful. I can't wait to see England at Christmastime!
Thank you, Aisling... It is a beautiful country and I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit!

Ooooh!!! What cruise is this, Brenda???!!! :goodvibes

Hi Kaz....it's the 1st Mother/Daughter cruise for Jen & I...it's 10/23 - 10/30/2010 - an eastern itin....will be sooooo wonderful to spend a week with my daughter...Chel & Rus will be onboard as well...we'll probably go a few days early & spend a day or 2 at some parks, she's never been to WDW - can you & Sophie join us?

OMG sounds fab, Brenda!!!! I will definitely suggest it to Sophie when she gets back from Florida as a possible for next year's Girls Only trip - tho' at the moment we are seriously thinking of a return to Disneyland in September 2010... So far she hasn't loved the West Coast as much as I (I totally fell in love last August) but wants converting plus we are both v-e-r-y keen to try out the Grand Californian Villas...

BTW I have only just got around to writing up last summer's trip report but here's a link if you wanna check it out... And here's our Easter WDW experience too... Plus (finally - sorry to bore you all!!!) here's the clicky click for a pre-trip report of our upcoming September shenanigans... It's amazing what becomes urgent when you are supposed to be revising for first year University exams... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Solo trip? in 2009? When I asked if you wanted to come with me in November 2009 I didn't get an answer:confused3

Colleen & her sister couldn't afford it.

I'm going to cry:scared:

I picked Nov because of the free day for my birthday in the park and 1 day in the park is nothing. So, the only cruise I hadn't done was Nassau so I have the 4 day cruise.

Then I received a advertisement for military personnel & veterans to get a 5 day free pass to the park. Couldn't pass that up either. I'm going in August & Colleens' son (my grandson) & his girl are going to join up with me.

Oh well, Aisling - we all want to know - What's going on :worship:

Welllllllllllllllll...

Chad and Louise are going to WDW in July. I'm planning a trip back to England for Christmas with my kids, so I can't afford a WDW trip with C and L in July.

But then I got thinking...

I have Jetblue miles, so free airfare.
I have Disney Rewards points, enough to pay for 2 nights and meals, so that's free.
And my birthday is Nov. 30th, so one free day in a Disney park.

How could I resist???
I asked my family what they thought, and they said to go for it. I have already booked everything, but I'm getting cold feet.

When I went with Rose a couple times I may as well have been alone...I know one trip was during a championship run for the Phillies so Rose pretty much got me to the parks and then headed to ESPN to watch the games.

I made a point to hook up with some Disney friends that just happened to be there at the same time-that made it cool too. I took alot of pictures, did alot of meandering and definitely rode the rides. I talked to strangers in line and took pics for folks trying to family shots in the parks.

You should go Aisling!

If I could, I would totally be right there next to you :)
