My children ages 9,6, and 4, plus my husband have begged for a (gasp) Universal Studios/IOA holiday trip(Dec. 18-23) instead of our usual Disney trip. I'm taking a school group Dec.1-5, so I'll get my fix then, but I'd still like to celebrate my dd's 7th b'day(Dec. 22) at a Disney park. When I casually mentioned it to her, she claimed MGM was her favorite park and wanted to visit there. How crowded should it be? Do they give birthday buttons there? I really had dreams of taking her to MK and having a birthday dinner with Pooh and friends, but she has her heart set on Rock and roll rollercoaster, Sci-Fi, and Fantasmic. Will it be too unbearably crowded? I would hate to know that I was so close to the Disney parks and didn't go visit at least one. Thanks for your help!

i can't answer it all, but yes you can get birthday buttons at guests services at mgm.

Can't answer your questions, but your dd has a very cool birthday (also just happens to be my bday ;) ). I love having a Christmas Bday!

Can you reserve a Fantasmic dinner package, along with the sci fi lunch. I've heard the dinner package is very nice at Hollywood and Vine and you get a reserved spot for Fantasmic.

We were there the week before Christmas a few years ago, and it was VERY crowded. So, it will be safe to say that on Dec. 22, there will be crowds, and you will have to wait probably at least an hour or more for some of the more popular rides. That time of year is the most crowded of all.
