Dec. 21, 2012

Do you believe the Dec. 21 2012 prophecy? Are you worried?

  • Yeah, I'm sweatin' this one.

  • Yeah, but what can I do about it? It is what it is. Hope I go quick. No worries.

  • No, it's bogus. I don't believe it. No worries here.

  • Uh, what the heck are you talkin' about?

But is this where you have to get a tattoo on your arm to buy groceries??
If so, no I don't believe in it.

That the Mayans died out before they could finish their calendar!

or December 21, 2012 was as high as they could count?

Watch Decoding the Past: Mayan Doomsday Prophecy on 10-23 (Thursday) at 8:00PM. There's another documentary that's better but I can't remember the name of that one. This is some scary *&#!. This isn't a religious event (although I guess it could turn out to be one if you're a believer). Try this page.....

I don't believe it. My DVC membership doesn't end until 2042.

2. The Mayan civilization of Central America was and is the most advanced in relation to time-science knowledge. Their main calendar is the most accurate on the planet. It has never erred. They actually have 22 calendars in total, covering the many timing cycles in the Universe and Solar System. Some of these calendars are yet to be revealed.

I got this from the link. If the Mayans have 22 calendars, and some are yet to be revealed, who is in charge of the "revealing"? I'm assuming they don't mean a spiritual reveal, since the quote says they HAVE the calendars already, but some are being held back for whateve reason.

I don't believe a word of it. I wonder if the Mayans predicted their own demise as a civilization.

Being a religious person I don't believe in this day. God said that no one will ever know when the world will end.

No worries here!

There's no need to worry folks. I wish the people who made these scare-mongering websites would take the time to do some true research.

The Mayan calendar is not linear like ours is, it is circular. Therefore the calendar cycles. I believe this will be the third time this calendar has cycled, and the world has not ended yet.

Basically, it is a complete misinterpretation of the calendar cycle. Mayan experts (as in people who are from the Mayan lineage) have said that it does not mean the end of the world. Even the Mayan people way back when did not interpret it that way.

When the calendar cycles, they did believe there would be some fundamental change in civilization. I don't know if it was supposed to occur on the day of the cycle, but I suspect not. One could argue that with advancing technology that we are already seeing this shift as we approach the end of the cycle. After all, the cycle is at least a thousand years long, so in the scheme of things five or ten years could be seen as the end of the cycle.

Thanks for posting this, it was very interesting.

Oh, shoot! I messed up your poll.:headache: I marked "yes, but what can you do?" but I really meant "no, I'm not worried...but what can you do?" Ugh! Sorry.
