Dec. 2, 2010 3 day Wonder

We'll do the FE too! We have 2 adults and 3 kids: boy 6 (It's his birthday!), boy 4, and girl 22 months.

Has someone volunteered to organize this? We'll need a list of participants with cabin numbers, number of adults, number of kids with gender and ages in case some people want to customize. We'll also have to set a cutoff date for participation so we can all prepare.

I'm also wondering...
Can anyone post important dates, such as when we're able to reserve Palo, etc. This is only our 2nd cruise and I haven't quite got it all figured out! :rotfl:

Tweet volunteered to organize the FE, but we haven't heard from her since--that was almost 3 weeks ago.

If you go to the DCL website and enter your reservation number, the website will give you the date you can book Palo and excursions. I have to look it up every time :thumbsup2

Sorry everyone! I have been so busy getting my son ready to go away to college. Yes, I will still organize the FE. Anyone who is interested in doing it (seems like we have a good group already:banana:) please add to this list names, ages (if children) and cabin number if you have it. How about doing a cut off date of November 11? That would be 3 weeks before the cruise. Let me know what everyone thinks. Thanks and sorry again for the delay in getting back to everyone!:cool1:

Tweet, no need to apologize and congrats on getting one off to college! Take time to breathe now and then--I know there's a million things you need to do to send him off. There isn't much you need to do for the FE thing, now that you've started the list. I'm so glad to see so many people wanting to participate!! Cut off at Nov 11th seems perfect to me and still gives plenty of time for new folks to join in. I'm thinking we may have more people join the thread as we get closer to our cruise date.

I saw how some of you were able to find your cabin numbers. I was on the Disney Cruise site and typed in my confirmation number and the only thing showing category 6 #GTY. We have never been on a cruise before and we aren't sure what the letters mean.

GTY means you have a Cat 6 cabin, but it has not been assigned yet. In the current classification system, a Cat 6 cabin will probably be on Deck 6, but may be on Deck 5. It is a veranda cabin which is for either 3 or 4 people. You should get your cabin number within the next couple of weeks, but definitely within 45 days of sailing.

Thank you Tweet!!

We paid off our cruise yesterdsay! :woohoo:

Too bad I'll be out of town on the day we could book Palo. I'm sure they'll be booked up before I get a chance.

Wow! I didn't have any trouble at all booking Palo. I had my choice of day and time! Is it not as popular on 3 day cruises? I'm not 100% sure we'll keep the reservation. It means we have to bring dress clothes.

DH and I have been planning to book this cruise since May. He is a teacher, and is waiting for approval for a conference at Disney (at the Contemporary) the week after. Because he's a teacher, it makes travel to the happiest place on earth difficult at any time besides summer. So, I am anxiously waiting for the word 'sometime' in the next 7-10 days. If approved for the conference, he is also approved for two unpaid days, meaning a night flight Wednesday, and Thursday to Sunday on the Wonder for our very first cruise ever! :goodvibes

We are DH(40), me(38), DS(10) and DD(8), and have been to WDW in August 2008 and August 2009. We have not told our kids about this trip, and it will be a surprise on December 1st when we head to the airport. :wizard: The bigger surprise will be Thursday morning... when we don't go to Disney but go to Port Canaveral pixiedust:...hehehe...it makes me giddy just thinking about it!

We would love to do the FE's, I was reading about them last week...as long as we don't miss the cut-off date. Golly Mickey, I hope this plan gets approved!! :worship:

Our plan is to leave the ship Sunday, *maybe* make a one night stop at Universal to see Harry Potter's world, and then head to the Contemporary. Imagine how depressing it will be if this all gets cancelled.

What a wonderful surprise for your kids (for you too). I have my fingers crossed for you.
:thumbsup2

schoonersky, here's a healthy dose of pixie dust for ya! :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard: Hoping those in charge see the merits of the conference and put their stamp of approval on it!

HI everyone, we are going on this cruise also. My husband and I and another couple. We have 2 staterooms booked. No kids this time! We would like to join the FE. We have done it in the past and its so much fun! If you want I will start a list and organize it. Please let me know if anyone is interested.

We will be on the 3 night cruise and would like to participate in FE. This would be our first time participating. When you say you are making a list, how does that work?
Thanks in advance.

Tink 70 Welcome!

Just give me your names, stateroom number and I will make a list up. When it gets closer to the cruise I will post a list with everyone on so you can pass out your gifts. Its really fun and easy!

We are in stateroom # 2106

Ron and Marnie Bourque
Ronnie 14 years old
Rhianna 9 years old

We are so excited about the fish extenders and are thinking about items for others. Could it be as simple as putting hershey kisses?
I am just not sure what I will find.....

Welcome aboard and I'm so happy to have another family joining us! Yes, FE gifts can be as simple as a few Hershey kisses. Or, you can go ALL THE WAY like these http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1980639. Personally, I'm somewhere in the middle--a little crafty and a little "shop at the dollar store". :rolleyes1

I can't remember, have we talked about getting together for a meet? I'd love to be able to put a face to a name and kinda know who I'm sailing with.

schoonersky--I've got everything except my eyes crossed for ya for tomorrow!! Prayers and pixie dust cuz I'm sure, like me, your family NEEDS this vacation, right?!!!

Woo-hoo!! :cool1::banana::yay::cheer2:

OK, yes, I might be a little excited. :lmao:

OK, so the approval came today...I still have to book, and am trying to decide where to book through. I have a quote request in with Dreams, but my bank credit card offers a travel agency where I can supposedly get a 5% rebate on all travel I book with them. So I will have to call there tomorrow to see if THAT's true for Disney cruises.

So we won't get first dinner seating, but I'm hopeful maybe we can be shortlisted.

So excited! We are in for the FE....don't have my cabin yet (obviously) but soon soon soon!!!!
