Debt free!!!!!

3 to six months expenses....i am pretty sure....
We have house and small student loan left and we will be debt free!!!! We paid off the truck early last month!!!! It feels soooooo good!!!!!

You should start with a baby emergency fund of $500 to $1000, then pay off all your debts, then save up 3 to 6 months of expenses.

Ooh, I like this. I swear, I need a book called "Money for Dummies". My ex always handled the money, and did it very poorly. When we separated and I tried to apply for a mortgage on my own, my credit score was in the 500s!!!!

I have managed to dig myself out of the trenches he left me in. We owed money to the gas & electric company, the cable company, not to mention the credit card debt.

But now that I"m SO CLOSE to being back on my feet again, I don't want to mess it up. I truly appreciate everyone's advice!

Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover is pretty much "Money for Dummies" because it is all simple common sense stuff.

Had my mother actually taught me something about money management when I was young instead of taking every penny I ever had from allowance through my first high school jobs and not letting me have any of it because I "had to save", then I might not have needed something like this book to teach me the common sense stuff.
