No doubt the r/wallstreetbets is getting a lot of traffic this week! I took a look myself out of curiosity along with seeing news on it.Got the student loan down below $200k by paying another $39 today. I just wanted to be able to say that.
I’m pretty sure I’ll have to hustle my *** off until April to make sure I can pay my taxes, but I’m gonna start reading Reddit for stock tips, so it should be fine.![]()
I live 20ish miles south of DC and we have actual snow on the ground this morning. Rarely happens where I live. Wondering how much more we’ll get. DS17 has been going around all week saying it never snows in Maryland anymore. This morning he said “I guess it still snows in Maryland.” Lol.No doubt the r/wallstreetbets is getting a lot of traffic this week! I took a look myself out of curiosity along with seeing news on it.
Nothing out of the ordinary as the first month passes, a winter storm warning in the DC area where it's been rather mild the last few years, I don't expect much from this but will see what it brings. The gas station lines were rather long and seemed like some restaurant pick up lines were busy to pick up to go, and grocery store also.

We have snow also a few inches, it's still going but really light. We are near the beltway, DCA flights still going for the most part watching as DH is supposed to travel.I live 20ish miles south of DC and we have actual snow on the ground this morning. Yes did the same just in case, Saturday seemed busy with the gas station and grocery store! I've been through the Baltimore many times on the highway up to NJ that tunnel always gets to me! Along with a few bridges. Happy not to travel over those on a winter day.I'm just south of Baltimore (literally about a mile south of the southern city border!) and we have a couple of inches already here! Outside my window is a sea of white! We did everything we needed to do outside the house the last 2 days and have no reason to leave again until work on Wednesday.
I am at the MD/PA line below Hanover, PA and it is still coming down here. I think we are up to about 2 in now. We are in the 12-18 in band. DS was supposed to get his braces on tomorrow. Pretty sure that is getting rescheduled.I'm just south of Baltimore (literally about a mile south of the southern city border!) and we have a couple of inches already here! I bet it’s cold up there! We used to go up to almost the PA border to see the boys run cross country. It was always freezing there in early November.I am at the MD/PA line below Hanover, PA and it is still coming down here. I think we are up to about 2 in now. We are in the 12-18 in band. This makes no sense. If snow days exist so students and teachers don't have to risk travelling to school in bad weather, why close virtual school? Only in the field of education...I bet it’s cold up there! We used to go up to almost the PA border to see the boys run cross country. It was always freezing there in early November.
Looking like it’s stopped here for now. DS is hoping for a snow day or delay - yes apparently with 100% virtual snow those still exist - tomorrow.

I know right? He's got the snow day today...and very happy, especially since he's a senior and gets out before everyone else. He's a great student and has gotten into four of the five colleges he applied to (hasn't heard from No. 5 yet) so I can't really complain. I just think it's weird. This makes no sense.
