Debra's Revived Double Stroller Swap ***FULL***

About the tear - do we think it will hold up or is there danger of it completely ripping apart. I am worried that it might not last until December.
 
I guess I am surprised about the tear. I am not sure what happened to it but I think duct tape is not an option. Someone needs to sew it...anyone who knows how to sew that is going soon would you be able to do this?

Could anyone possibly get a picture of the "tear" so we know what exactly we are dealing with? Does it need to be patched up? Or can it be sewn back together? I agree that duct tape doesn't seem to be the solution, but I could be totally wrong and maybe it could work....just depends.

I am not a seamstress by any means. I don't get the stroller until Nov 25 either. But I think if we know what exactly we are dealing with, perhaps someone could repair it sooner rather than later.

Just my thoughts...Any others?:confused3

I have no problem calling about it I just need to know the make/model of the stroller.Let me know if you want me to try calling.

Hi all-

The tear is about 3 inches long, it is in the seam on the bar between the 2 seats, and it is below the hinge where the stroller folds and right above the bottom seam that goes across the front. A good sturdy needle and some heavy duty (like upholstery type thread) would probably be enough to patch it, I was thinking duct tape because it would be quick, and probably not be necessary to take the cover off. The major issue is that it is an area that is constantly being pulled by folding the stroller. Had I been thinking about it I would have taken a picture. Other than that, it worked great, very easy to steer, lots of room underneath!!

Also, it might be worth calling the company and seeing if we can get a replacement cover, they don't need to know how much use it is getting :)
 
Sorry - I dont have any pics of the tear either.

If they manufacturer doesn't offer a replacement then maybe we need to purchase another one. I would suggest someone who is going in 2-3 weeks to see how much a replacement is, order it and bring it with you. Then the next swappers will pay that person back until she is completely reimbursed for it.

The tear is exactly where pjzkent described and it does receive stress everytime it is folded. But also, I would not recommend taking it off to machine wash unless absolutely necessary as the washing machine will only make it worse.

I just spoke to in step and we need the model # & date off the sticker on the back of the stroller. THey will then either send a replacement seat or a new stroller. I told them my sister had it on vacation & that we are swapping it down there to me.She said they would send the replacement stuff to whichever hotel we want. So If you can get me the model # & date off the stroller & name & hotel info for which resort we want it to go to, I will make the follow up call. Do we have any way to get in touch with whoever has the stroller in Disney now to get that info? Let me know and I'll call them back.

it should also be on either the receipt or the order confirmation. we should call A.S.A.P with the info.

Does anyone know the status of the stroller? Did we get ahold of Parith?

Ironmanpr~ I am sorry no one has responded to you. Part of your days are available, however, we have developed a tear in the stroller and I am not sure we letting any others participate due to the extra wear and tear. I know there is a chance we will be able to replace it and in that case I would think you would be able to use it. It would help us fill a gap, but I do have the stroller until Dec 15. It is up to you if you want to wait and see with us..we are all on pins and needles waiting for some past users thoughts on the rip/ and info on the stroller. Hopefully it wont be much longer.

Does anyone else have any input?
 
Hey everybody. I guess after your vacation is over there is not as much incentive to keep a close check on the disboards. Shame on me!
Anyway, I got two more PMs from people interested in swapping with us. I told them that we are waiting to see if we can replace the seat before we add anymore usage (basically what Xrayvin said to ironmanpr). So if a replacement seat is purchased, I think we could have it paid for. Did anyone get a price?
 
I just pmed Chrissan to see if she had gotten a chance to call IN Step. There shoudn't be any cost to replace it the stroller is only a couple months old. If i hear back from her I will let everyone know.

I will be following up with IN step on the morning. I need to know the name of the person to send it to & the resort info. I have no idea how long this is gonna take to get or if there is a charge. I think it should be free but we will see. I will be there nov. 28 if it is gonna be a few weeks I could just have the stuff sent to my home & take it with me. We are driving & will have room to take it. Let me know what you all think.
