So....Are we closing the swap to new swappers to cut down on the wear and tear or are we accepting new swappers?

I am hoping that Nikki was able to get the info she needed from Parith and get a replacement. If we have a replacement that I think we will allow more swappers if we can't due to not having all the information then I would say no.

I wish I could help Nikki more with this, I hope the right people are PMing her as they seem to not be on the board anymore.

Nikki~have you had any luck getting all the info you needed? When you talk to INstep ask how long they think it will take..it looks like we have 17 days before TSNCS leaves and 24 before sarahs1mom leaves. If you had mailing options for both of them it would be better to decide where to send it.
I would say if you can't get info from the swappers before you, go ahead and have it sent to you.

Do we have any current info on the tear?

They do not have a replacement seat available right now & won't till the middle of Jan. If we took pictures & destroyed the stroller then sent photos of the destroyed stroller then they would send out a replacement. So that option is out. I am still trying to come up with another plan. I would think for now we shouldn't add anyone else unless we know it can be replaced. Can the next swapper give us an update & maybe post a photo of the actual tear?

If we took pictures & destroyed the stroller then sent photos of the destroyed stroller then they would send out a replacement.

Anybody any good at photoshop?????Make a fake destroyed stroller?

LMAO I was trying to figure a way out to do this too. I am going to call again tomorw & see if someone else gives me a different answer. I am the master at getting problems resolved,wish me luck over the next couple days. I won't give up for a couple days. The sooner someone can email me a picture of the tear the better.

Well, we survived our Disney vaca! It was a long day yesterday as we arrived home at 11:30 only to find my DD's bag didn't make it to Philly. So after processing the paperwork and getting our car, the drive home, etc. it was nice to be in my own bed at 2 am! Anyway... the stroller was such a blessing. It was a bit of a hassle getting it on and off the busses (especially at the end of the day when the busses were more crowded) and it doesn't fit through the stroller gates at MK so we had to take the girls out and lift it over. But other than that it was awesome. So nice to have a place for the kids to rest and to hold all of our bags, etc.

Just a few things, I did take my sewing kit with me and sewed up the tear. It's not perfect but hopefully it will hold up for a while. Hopefully this won't affect the plan to get a replacement. I think the tear is a result of the folding of the stroller and the way the bar hits the fabric when folded. I found that if you pull out the seat at the tear area before closing it it seemed to be better. I did wash it down well but it is definitely starting to show signs of use. We got caught in a few scattered showers last Sunday and the rain cover worked pretty well but it's not a perfect fit so make sure you cover it from the handlebars down. Don't try to fit the plastic over the bottom area where the kids put their feet or the top will be soaked. From weather or drinks, etc. there are a few stains on the fabric areas. We limited our kids from eating and drinking in the stroller as much as possible.

All in all it was a great week! It amazes me how the parks can go from Halloween to Christmas almost over night! Hopefully the rest of you will have as wonderful a time as we did! Thanks to all of you for coordinating this swap as it made our lives much much easier and we were able to spend the extra $$ on more souvenirs!

Once my girls are back in school tomorrow I am hoping to upload my photos. I know I have many shots of the youngest two in the stroller. I will see if I happen to have captured the tear in any of my pics. If I do who should I send it to? Or is there a way to upload it onto this thread? Thanks!

I think that being we have the stroller paid off...we should close the swap. I just want to remind everyone to contact the person in front and behind them with information to help with a smooth swap. Remember that people do get busy the closer their trip approaches and have a tendancy not to check back once it is completed. This makes is EXTREEMLY important to make contact ASAP. Also because we have some gaps that will not be filled everyone needs to make sure where the stroller will be stored for that period of time.

I am so glad I was able to find and participate in this swap. $15 is alot better then it would have been even if there is a tear. Thanks to Kelly for sewing it on her vacation and I thinkn everyone should be aware of the tear and do their best to keep it fixed. Lets try to keep it in the best condtion we can for all the swappers.

Kelly I am looking forward to your photos (I don't know how to do it either) and just reading your report. One question..did the tear make the stroller hard to use or was it more cosmetic?

The tear was really more cosmetic. I looked through my photos today but there really weren't any that were clear of the tear. There was either something covering it (a leg, skirt, etc.) or it wasn't really visible. Being that the stroller is gray the tear seemed to blend in in my photos. I will try to zoom in on some of the photos to see if I can find a clearer picture of it but as of right now I'm doubtful...

I think it's smart to close off the swap unless it is possible to get a new seat for it. It definitely will serve its purpose for those still to use it but I don't know that my basic stitches will hold up for too long. The fabric had actually frayed so it was harder to sew since there wasn't a straight edge to piece together. If everyone is a little consciencious about it and try to be careful with it it should be fine.

Nikki - We are in Collegeville, Montgomery County about 20 minutes West of King of Prussia. Have a wonderful trip - I am going through a bit of withdrawal, I miss having something to plan for!!

Funny you should say that because I too was looking for a red stroller when I met with Stacey for our swap. Was the original red? Or was it just discussed that perhaps we'd order a red one? Or maybe we actually had a real stroller 'swap' a few weeks ago when we accidentally received the umbrella and stroller cover?

Does anyone have any thoughts on the storage of the stroller at a resort when there is a really large gap in between swappers? It seems like closing the swap makes sense, but I'm wondering if something can be left for weeks (or longer) unclaimed?

I am also wondering if we have the wrong stroller! The comment about the rain cover not fitting makes me think it is wrong! Can you look at page one and see if it is the same stroller as we ordered? We paid extra for the rain cover for our model of stroller it should be a PERFECT fit. I will try to contact the other swap thread and see if they still have the right stroller.
