Debra & Brian's Fairytale Trip Report 12/03/10*Completed Wedding Day Report W/PICS*

Love the book! What website did you go through? In case another Groupon comes out ....

Thank you!!! :goodvibes

Here is the website, they are called Photobook America

http://www.photobookamerica.com/

They are pricey, but the product is very good quality. I am so glad that we bought that Groupon because the price of the book would have been $115 but the Groupon was for $115 worth of product and we only spent like $30-$35 for it, great deal! We bought 2 so I am going to get 2 more, smaller sized books, but still quite large actually, for the mom's. I'm going to make them different than ours and different for each mom....lots of work ahead for me, but I think the personalization will be worth it.

oh good - i wanted to know what company you used - going to check it out!! we did buy the CD - anough pictures came out that i figured, i would pay, like, $30/one i liked, so that came to at least $750. sigh - so much money!!! we are still waiting on our wedding day pic CD, can't wait to start on our own photo books!!

your pictures are so great! the day was so beautiful! just so lovely!

Thank you for your compliments Lisa!!!! I loved your wedding too!

I'm so stressed right now about how much that MK photo-shoot is going to cost and it still doesn't even include the CD. :sad1: I just hope we get one of the photographers we suggested. I asked for either Regina or Ty because I like their style.

Making the photo-books is fun but so time consuming. It took me about 11 hours total because of the picture sorting process. In the end though I'm so happy with how it turned out that I can forget about the pain, lol.

Love your book! It turned out beautiful!!!

Thank you, thank you!!! I told DH last night that I was going to sleep holding onto it, :scared1: (his face). I didn't of course! :rotfl:

I was going to mention this yesterday but I forgot in all of my giddiness over receiving the Photo-book. :goodvibes

A few weeks back I saw a post in another thread, non weddings board thread, about the Disneyland Bricks being almost sold out. DH and I have been to Disneyland togehter and it holds a special place in my heart since it's really the place where I first truly fell in love with him. :cloud9:

We decided to order a brick and put our names, the kids names and our wedding date.

We got the initial paperwork in the mail a few days ago and it included a certificate with how the brick will look. We also ordered a replica of the brick that we can keep in our house. Here is a pic of the certificate and a close-up of the brick section.

The brick should be installed in August, hopefully in time for D23 when we are going to be there. :cool1:

I guess it's time to post my Dessert Party Pics. I broke down and uploaded the pics to FB. The pics I got from Randy take forever to upload since they are of a higher quality then say something that I take myself with just a point and shoot camera. But....it's worth the extra time and headache because I have really been wanted to post these pics.

When we first started planning the wedding I was going to have an Epcot DP because we were going to get married in Epcot and I wanted to keep the continuity going. When we switched to a WP wedding, we decided to switch to a Sago Cay DP. I wasn't sure about decor but I knew I wanted to keep it minimal so I went with what a lot of brides have done and ordered the gel candles with glow cubes. I had this idea to theme the tables with Disney Couples, not the human kind but rather non-human kind. I thought that I could coordinate the gel colors with the couples. Well I decided that I liked purple, blue, pink, green and red. We looked on the internet and a local Disney store for smallish plush of our couples. We were able to find Minnie and Mickey for red, Donald and Daisy for Blue, Princess and the Frog (frog versions) for green and Lady and the Tramp for pink. Well, let me tell you, finding a couple for purple was very, very hard....we just couldn't come up with a non-human couple. We did searches on purple characters, Disney things associated with Purple...it was just impossible. I finally decided that I wanted to look for a Miss Piggy and Kermit and use them for purple because she us usually wearing that color....couldn't find any stuffed creatures. They have pookaloo's but the only place to get the Miss Piggy one is in NYC :confused3. Finally, a few weeks before the wedding we went to the Disney store again and found a Stitch and Angel. We decided to switch them to Blue and use Donald and Daisy for Purple since she was wearing purple. Whew....:faint: so much hassle and as you will learn, in the end it all didn't even matter.

At our reception at the Napa Room, Tanis told us that due to the cold weather they wanted to hold our eating portion of the Dessert Party inside using the Whitehall room. I said, ok, and didn't question anything else after that.

We were back in our room resting before the DP and about 45 minutes before the party decided to get dressed in our Wedding finery again and drive over to the GF. We drive over and realize that the parking lot is packed!!!! There is a seperate area for convention parking and it was full. I had Brian drop me off at the entrance to the GF and decide to walk over to the convention area and meet Brian there. We arrived at the same time as my mom and children so I walk over with them. On the pathway over I received so many cool compliments from people and it made me feel really good. :goodvibes I had taken off my veil earlier but brought my ears to put on and I was also wearing a wrap my mom gave me (it really helped because it was freezing!) We arrived at the Convention area entrance and the place was rockin!!!! Apparently some pool company was having a 1920's themed party and there were like 1200 people in the huge ballrooms (right near the Whitehall Room) jamming away and everybody was drunk. :scared1: It was beyond loud, but I wasn't going to let anything ruin the night so I thought, well at least we get free music :confused3. One funny thing that kept happening was random people from the other party would just walk into our room, stand there, look around, ask if they could have food??? and just stumble away. At one point a magician came over and started to get ready to perform for us. DH said, oh this is a private party, well the magician left. I said, why did you say anything? We could've gotten a free show, lolol :rotfl:.

Back to the story. So I arrive and most of our guests where already there. Here is my making my entrance.

We also included Mickey Bars as BOC. They were beyond a doubt the hit of the party. I think everybody had one, or two, even Stan had one, lol.

DB174412-3-10.jpg

The food was so amazing. I'm so grateful to Randy and Stan because they have been to many of these and knew how to help me with things. We had about 45 mins to eat and mingle...went by sooooooooo fast! At first everybody was standing/sitting talking etc. Stan whispers to me, "you might want to tell your guests to start eating". Oh, yeah!!! So, I told everybody to eat up, LOL. At this point I couldn't remember what Tanis had told me at the Napa Room. I was a little confused when I got there, thinking, well....can we still go out to watch the fireworks? Why are my decorations different in here? Will they still play the music for the fireworks? (We paid the $500 extra for the music). Randy took charge and found an event manager and he said we would have to walk out to Sago Cay before the Fireworks. In the meantime Brian and I had brought Glow necklaces and bracelets (bought at the dollar store) and everybody helped themseleves. We put our plush on the tables, and mingled and ate. I did not have time to eat what I wanted because of people talking to me :rotfl2:. I was thinking the entire time, how can I ditch these people (family) and just eat these desserts...I was starving at this point and everything looked so good. In the end I did sample almost everything and it was AMAZING!!!!!!

love love LOVE somemore! i just showed trace the pics because it is so neat to see "our" room look so different! that is such a great space! i wish i had the patience with photobucket - then i would do a long neat trip report too!

Here are some pics of our plushies...

Don't they look excited, LOLOL
DB176512-3-10.jpg

DB181512-3-10.jpg

So they did no decor at the Whitehall room at all except to put round tables in there with white tablecloths and tiny tea-light candles on the tables. We and a few highboys and a few regular. We used the highboys to put the glow on and guests sat at the regular tables.

I was really let down by how plain the room was after my careful planning and headache inducing search for stuffed animals. I wanted those beautiful gel candles and the black tablecloths with confetti.

So the time is getting close to the fireworks time and I was not going to miss them for anything. Randy tells me we have to leave now so we don't miss the show. We gather everything up, guests grab desserts to take with them since they said we couldn't come back to the room. :sad1: They gave us to go cups to get hot chocolate/coffee to take with us. We all head out in the dark, I think I was first because I did not want to miss the show...:wizard: We get there and I finally see my gel candles....but they looked very sad sitting there all by themselves. The tech guy was there finishing up the music set-up, thank goodness because I was worried about this! One thing that didn't work out the way it should have was we had white linens and no confetti and it looked weird.

We put out our "Disney Couples" and it helped a little...

Randy rushes us over to the edge by the water to get ready for the fireworks. The only bad thing about photography during the fireworks is that you really don't get to enjoy them. You are mostly turned with your back to them except for the times when he says...turn around...I loved those times. A few times I would casually turn my head to see the fireworks but he always caught me. This is how it went....Look at me, kiss, turn around, look at me, smile, look at my camera, turn around, kiss, look at me.

Here are a few shots, I think the fireworks pics look better from Illuminations but I love ours anyway...

DB202012-3-10.jpg

One of my favorites
DB211912-3-10.jpg

The best part of the fireworks were the 360 degree blasts. It was very cool seeing them from that vantage point. I loved that we had the holiday Wishes because it was longer and the fireworks were cooler. I did miss the traditional Wishes music though. Everybody raved over the fireworks and soundtrack. Lots of party guests from that huge party near us had come out on the opposite side of the marina and I wonder if they thought there was music everynight, lol. I can just picture guests complaining on other nights when there is no wishes music piped in. :goodvibes

At this point the fireworks were over. Randy and Stan showed us short clips and pics from what they caught. Stan had us do a staged kiss and excited face looks for parts of his montage. They left and we thanked them profusely. We mingled for a few minutes with our guests, thanking them for coming, them telling us it was the best wedding ever. I had brought the Disney tickets that I was giving to my guests with me and at this point I passed them all out. Everyone was extremely thankful. Brian and I also surprised them and said they could take home the stuffed animals. Everybody was like little kids trying to decide what to take, lol. It was very cute. We all said our goodbyes and everybody slowly made their way back to their cars. Brian and I stopped in the convention center again so he could use the bathroom. I sat at the piano they had in the lobby and people would walk past we with strange looks on their faces seeing a bride sitting at a piano, by herself, at like 11 at night. :goodvibes We got in the car and went back to OKW. I at this point wanted to attempt to brush my hair and remove my makeup. I had to scrub to get that makeup off, lol. My hair had like 30 bobby-pins. I had no idea there were so many because I didn't see them or feel her putting so many in. Brian just had to take off his tux...guys really do have it so easy. We basically fell into bed and fell asleep....some wedding night huh :rotfl2:. We were just soooooooo exhausted! The next day we were meeting family at like 7am in our room to go to Epcot.

I have to say that it was an amazing day. Even with the very minor flubs, I wouldn't have changed a thing because I am sure that nobody but me even noticed anything was different than what I had planned. Of course nobody but me noticed, LOL :rotfl2:. Brides have a critical eye for those details because we spend months and months obsessing over them before the wedding.

Yay...thank you!!!!! I don't think anything can top what the room looked like with your reception! My favorite decoration ever!

I just added more pics. :goodvibes

BTW....Photobucket makes me insane!

I've enjoyed looking at your pics so much.
Your desserts just made me super hungry. I sent df out for a chocolate run just now :lmao:
And those fireworks pictures are so beautiful!!

Thank you!!!! Looking at those desserts threw me into a chocolate attack also but I couldn't find any chocolate in the house . A girl needs chocolate!

I love your fireworks pictures, I think you got some really good ones. Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time. Those desserts looked SOOOOOOO good! I wonder why they didn't use your planned Sago Cay decor choices in the Whitehall room, since they moved the party in there? You would think they would have left the tables outside undecorated and done your vases with the glo-cube things inside. Of course they looked so cool against the dark night...probably wouldn't have been quite as cool inside, but still....

Thank you for sharing. I love the image of you sitting alone at the piano...I bet there were some tourists that thought you'd been abandoned!! Little did they know....:rotfl2:

Those desserts were amazing!!! I also was pretty confused about the decor issue. I did like how the cylinders with the glow looked outside but with the white linens it looked weird and then we were only out there for a brief period of time to enjoy them, most of it looking to the sky (or DH and I looking at the camera).
I wish there was a picture to go along with my piano imagery. It was rather funny seeing the looks on peoples faces. Plus, because I was pretty exhausted I probably wasn't even smiling. I never even considered that they thought I might be abandoned but it's hilarious to think of them telling the story of the poor bride all alone in her wedding attire sitting at a lonely piano....:rotfl2:

Love the new pictures!!!! :) What menu did you use for SCP?!

The desserts were to die for!!!! I really wished I had grabbed more on my way out to see the fireworks. ( I only took a raspberry topped one, my favorite)

We used the A Kiss Goodnight, 2011 Menu which consisted of the following:

Gianduja Chocolate Mousse
Raspberry Panna Cotta Verrines
Caramelized White Chocolate Cheesecake
Individual Berrimisu
Coffees with Whipped Cream, Shaved Chocolate, Cinnamon Sticks, Orange Peel, and Flavored Syrups.
They also included Hot Chocolate and Tea without my asking.
Oh and a platter of Christmas Cookies. Probably because it was December.

Then we had the Mickey Bars (BOC) and they were the absolute hit! I almost forgot they were there but Stan (like the pro he is) told me they were in a metal "cold" container off to the side.

It turned out to be $40.00pp but since we only had 20 people it came out to be a reasonable price.

I know that I posted this in another thread but never posted it here. I made our wedding programs myself at the very last minute before we left for the wedding. I had my heart set on fancy mickey cut-out ones but just wasn't crafty enough or had the money to hire out for them.
We were in Michael's one day and found a do-it-yourself kit for about $10 which included 50 pre-folded that were outlined in sliver and had intertwined silver hearts on the front.
I used these boards as inspiration on what to include, the wording and the layout. I used blue and pink coloring for the wording and included the Waltograph font at the end for an added special touch.

Here is what I ended up with:

I gave left these programs at Franck's in a bucket with our other wedding things like the Vinylmation guest book, our personalized M&M's, and other things.

When we showed up for the wedding Tanis had them in a white basket on a pedestal for our guests to grab as they walked into the pavilion.

I also did a newsletter that I will try and figure out how to post here. If I can find a copy of it I might just take pics to post.

Love all the pics (especially the food ) and I think the programs turned out fab!! :thumbsup2

Thank you Mindy!

I wish I had been a guest so that I could have enjoyed the desserts more, lol.

F or 10 bucks I don't think I could do a better bang for your buck on those programs.

All your pictures are beautiful!!! Plus your programs look so fancy! You'd never know you threw them together last minute!! :goodvibes
