I have two reservations for one day:

Lunch: Le Cellier 2:30pm
Dinner: Rose and Crown: 7:05pm

I've been contemplating, and I don't think it's possible to be hungry for both. So, I need to cancel one.

Do I want to cancel Le Cellier so I can watch Illuminations (DH's FIRST time watching Illuminations!) from Rose and Crown?

Or - do I want to cancel Rose and Crown because Le Cellier is *just that* wonderful, and stake out a spot for Illuminations somewhere else later in the evening?

The food at Rose and Crown looks good, but I'm not sure if it's anything to write home about. And as far as Le Cellier goes - we'll be having bison steak at Artist Point the evening prior, so not sure we'll want steak.

Help would be appreciated!d :woohoo:

Been to both. R&C - not that great food wise. I loved this one salad they had, but they took it off the menu. Unless you like heavily sauced/fried foods you won't be all that excited about R&C.

Le Cellier has been the most impossible restaurant to get ADRs at anymore nor do they have availability most of the time for walk ups. We've been there as well and while I don't understand the lack of availability these days although I can say the food is better there than R&C. But, not spectacular enough to warrant the lack of ADR availability.

Since you have ADRs for Le Cellier be aware there's more than just steak. The salmon there is excellent. If you just want a salad I've had the steak salad and even ordered chicken on it once instead.

If you're looking for food quality go with Le Cellier (even though I don't think it has that "WOW" factor), it still beats R&C as far as that's concerned.

If you're looking to watch Illuminations there are many places you can see it from. I wouldn't waste more than 2 hrs sitting there and you may not even get an outside seat.

I have eaten twice in Le Cellier and to be honest the food was great (beer&cheese soup:love:), the service however was exceptionally rushed (finishing appetisers and it being taken away pretty much instantly and replace with your main) and very impersonal.

As for the Rose and Crown, the food is probably not as good in quality but the service is generally great. As was already mentioned you cant guarantee an outdoor seat for fireworks, everyone wants to sit outside, but the CM's will try and accomodate as much as possible and if you are indoors there is a viewing area reserved for guests dining in the restaurant. Also would just like to say that at the UK for some reason the wind nearly always seems to be blowing in that direction so a lot of the show gets clouded by firework smoke.

Just my opinion but LC is much better food wise and does have other things besides steak. R&C is not so good to us. And we ask and never got a table to view illuminations any better than just walking around looking for our own place before. Raglan Rd has better food than R&C. LaCatina will be open and can use a counter there or dinner is a TS at La Hacienda and they say can get a view of illuminations there also. We have just gone back to finding our own viewing spots. 2:30 lunch and really not finishing for hour and half at least then to eat heavy meal again at 7? only you know your family on that:cool1:

Yeah we're definitely going to cancel one. I just booked le cellier when I saw it became available, there's no way we can eat that much. Think I'll cancel R&C, thanks!! I might even cancel Le Cellier too, and try to get something different. We liked biergarten, marrakesh, so maybe we will ditch both entirely!!

Thanks for the help! :)

Hmmm,

I'd keep both, have a nice lunch at LC, and then just split a couple of appies and some drinks at R&C while watching illuminations. Watching the fireworks from a table is just so civilized.

But that's just me.

Well... our decision completely changed when DH saw that Cape May Cafe's buffet has unlimited ribs and chocolate lava cake. :rolleyes1

Apparently, we are now eating dinner at 5:40pm at Cape May and having a quick lunch at Morocco at noon... then coming *back* to Epcot to watch Illuminations...

Letting DH read the disboards for an afternoon really put a wrench in my plans!! :lmao:
