Debating DDP...is it a better value during holidays?

We booked a package over Easter and were planning on paying out of pocket, but I'm wondering if adding the DDP would be a better value given the holiday price increases we've heard about.

We're eating at Akershus, Biergarten, San Angel, Be Our Guest, and Tusker House, plus random counter service. It came close to even when I did the math before, but I'm thinking the holiday price premium could make a difference. In this case, am I correct in thinking it might be a better value to do the DDP since the $61 price per day remains the same, correct? Thanks!

DDP price remains the same. I'd say if you come close on the math and like the security of having it pre-paid, it's a legitimate choice to add DDP. Be sure to account for adding dessert at every meal, and tipping.

I vaguely remember paying premium prices for the DDP during holidays in the past. Apparently, that is not true at the current time. If you are eating at lots of restaurants that include a holiday price increase (character buffets, I think I've seen 'Ohana on that list as well) then the DDP is more of a value than it would be regularly. I am a DDP cheapskate and book all of the most expensive places that I can to eek out every ounce of value. You are smart to check the prices beforehand!

Yes for sure it is a "better" deal because of the Holiday pricing and the DDP stays the same. You still need to do the math to insure it works for your family

Plus we have seen prices at restaurants increase lately, like BOG

For my family, it works. Many will tell you to just get a gift card and fill it up or pay OOP - there's no wrong answer.

For my family, we enjoy our food. Even if we pay OOP, it's gonna be hard to turn down dessert. I'm a big eater with a big appetite and even bigger sweet tooth. I keep a healthy diet ALMOST year round. When I'm in Disney, it's anything goes.

The DDP works for us. We don't keep tabs on prices (although I do run the receipts when we get home just to see how we did.) Where we lose value on some signatures and other TS, we make up with QS meals at Boardwalk Bakery, Wolfgang Puck Express, etc.

I think buffets and character meals do tend to be pricier during the holidays (don't quote me though.) Really, it's what works for you. My dad is a Disney Visa holder and gets around $500 each trip. We enjoy signatures, so we use the meal plan on one or two signatures, maximize the value with an expensive table service and quick service, and pay OOP for thigns like Beaches and Cream or breakfast with the gift card.
