Please convince me that meal vouchers are a good deal. I'm not sure what I think about them. I would like to buy them but don't want to join a savings club so I would cancel right away. Is all of this really worth it???

You can read the numerous threads already posted on this subject. You can save some money if:

1) you use them in selected restaurants (B&C, RFC, Pepper Market)
2)you order enough food so you can share
3) you order dessert with every meal.

Disneychick 05, We love the vouchers. We just returned from WDW and we have leftover vouchers if your interested. I just told another Dis'er about them so whoever I hear from first will get them for cost plus postage. If you want more info pm me. :) Eileen

I used the Q&C vouchers every night for 4 nights at Coronado Springs with my 2 sons a friend and myself.
We saved tons of money compared to what we would have paid for the meals, but we would not have eaten that large or expensive a meal without the vouchers.
We also would not have gone to Coronado Springs each night if we had to wait for the busses to take us there. We had a car which made it much easier to get to the resort.
I did use one Q&C voucher at Beach Club once for myself and friend. We got a double burger to split, and onion rings, sodas and a brownie sundae. We were stuffed but I don't think my boys would have been satisfied eating there every day the way they were at Pepper Market with the many different choices they had. Peggie

We only saved around $3.00 average. More at a couple of places but I didn't save much since I was paying $8.50 to belong to Connections a month. If you use the service for more than just buying vouchers it would be a better deal.

One of the values for me is that they are prepaid. I hate to charge anything, we carry no balances on our credit cards. So it is a relief to me to be able to know that our food is paid for before we go. It makes it much more fun for my husband too. I like to use Disney Dollars for the same reason. I am living a dream when we are at WDW and the less 'real' world stuff that intrudes the better!

You have a car and eat at Pepper Market...
just returned Weds. night.. staying at CBR.. the only food court worth using the vouchers at is Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. We stayed there before and were aware of the set up (even had the mugs for soda bev). Got great value for the face amount of voucher... BUT had more food than we'd normally order, probably wouldn't have desserts every day (the kids got a sugar rush), wouldn't be too convenient if we didn't have a car. In comparison to other locations, there were more dinner options (prime rib, ribeye steaks, grilled tuna fillets) for dinner but the pricing (not that it matters) is higher (almost comp. to sitdown). It's great for adults or kids to split.. but I wouldn't go to the foodcourt there if it wasn't for the vouchers.. gets VERY expensive.

PS. if anyone's interested in 3 vouchers (exp. 5/05) I've got 3 left over and we're probably not returning in the next year or so. Contact me if interested.... face value +postage.

We just returned and used 8 vouchers dueing our stay. I posted a long review over on the resteraunt board but to answer your question: yes, I (we) thought it was worth it. I joined hotwire purchased the vouchers the cancelled my membership within the 30 days so it cost me nothing extra. It wasn't a hastle either. We loved the vouchers even though I don't think they saved us money in the normal sense of saving. I look at the vouchers as a bonus because you get extra things that normally you may not order. For example, when we ate at pinnochios village haus at MK we used 1 voucher for me and my DH and 2 DS's ate off the reg menu. The one voucher gave us an order of figaro fries to split between us, a beverage for me a DH to split and an ice cream for dessert that the kids split. Now, had I not used the voucher, I would have spent around $9.50 for just my sandwhich and my drink so we ended up with the figaro fries and the ice cream for just $1.75. So, for us it made sense. I really liked having them with us. We used a few at our own food court at the pop and it made it very easy. We bought 2 to use at beaches and cream and we wouldn't do that again - it takes so much planning to get to another resort. We didn't plan our vacation around the vouchers, I am sure if we had we would have been dissappointed. HTH. Chris.

As others have said, it is worth it if you do your homework. We didn't save anything at Pizza Planet but did save by using them for dinner at Beach Club and Coronado Springs.

We used the vouchers at Pepper Market once and loved it! However, one thing I didn't like is that I was afraid I was getting something that wouldn't work with the vouchers or I wasn't getting everything we could have gotten. At other places you can confirm what you are ordering qualifies before eating it. At Pepper Market by the time you get to the cashier you've already eaten the food and its a little late to be finding out you shouldn't have gotten that side dish or whatever. Does that make sense?
