In our class we made a paper chain with each kid contributing one piece of the chain ,,
each day we cut one of the links off and that child gets to be the classroom manager.
It's our offical count down

Now I'm not sure if the kids are more excited doing this or the teachers:confused3
All I know is I'm enjoying it. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

!2 and counting down

very cute!! reminds me of ten more sleeps, nine more sleeps, etc.

NINETY MORE SLEEPS TIL DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

13 for us. But they will go faster than I want, I think. We cleaned desks on Friday, and some of the kidlets put everything in their bags to go home. They were disappointed, but I think I was more than some of them! :rotfl: We've been counting down from 188, so it has been a long haul. Next year, we'll still do the countdown (and up), but it will be on the SMARTboard. (I love that thing!:teacher: )

Finished the bulk of my reports today :woohoo: , and I am bleary-eyed. I only have to add 2 marks, and finish the comment about their speeches....when they have finished them this week.

So here is my official countdown
:flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2: :flower2:

Not a teacher but I sure am looking forward to having my munchkins home for the summer - no more lunches to make, no more kids to force out of bed in the morning, lazy long days of summer with nothing more to do then count down to vacation at the end of August!

Hugs Deb here's a pair of :cool2: :cool2:
sunglasses for those weary eyes.

Yes the days are winding down and the kids are winding up:rotfl:

Hugs to us all
Mel

Oh boy what a busy day --we have started our "Memory books "of grade one .

We've also started two new students --difficult for them and us .

Counting and counting and counting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:hourglass

BitsnBearsMom: I can remember eagerly planning all the summer holidays
activities with my kids. Sounds like you've got alot of stuff ready to go.
Sleeping in is going to be number one right along with sitting in my garden
drinking tea.
Hugs Mel

Hanging in there Deb??:goodvibes :rose:

We're hangin' in! :laundy: We're working on our CANADA unit, and we're in the middle of 'Lollipop' speeches right now. Next week will be very busy. One year we did the backwards abc countdown. That was fun. We'll maybe do a small memory book next week.

When we went to do calendar (on the SMARTboard-have I mentioned that I love that thing?:thumbsup2 ) today. the laptop wouldn't work. I think that the kids figured that it might mean an extra day of school. Cheers went up after we rested it, and tried again at the end of the day. :surfweb:

So....schoolday countdown.....

paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw: paw:

counting down --how many days left Deb and all

Back on second round of antibiotics -whew --side effects nasty.
8 days for me

Well found out we get a new V.P.next year --hope he is a good as the one we had this year--time will tell. Our kids are getting quite excited about next year--
alot of "what ifs anxiety --so we re planning a few days of short visits to the next grade next week. Hope this helps.
Count down for me -7 days

Busy time for me this week. I finished my reports, had some concerts, then Canadian Cancer's Relay for Life last night. (still sleeping, and my feet/back are sore). This week coming: Lollipop Speeches, trip to the Outdoor Ed Centre for fun and games, and the Recognition Assembly (sports awards, Student of the Month etc) on Friday.

Has anyone seen the temperatures in S.ON this week. :faint:

8 school days for me. :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

I've got 8 to go. I'm only half-time though so really it is only 4. Finished my reports and am waiting for the stamp of approval on them from my P. We are also getting a new V.P, and I too love the smart board but will probably not get a chance to use it. However, the fight for the smart board may free up the elmo we have.

Oh My
busy busy busy
sorry I've not posted lately but
busy busy busy

still counting down --and taking down many classroom displays,
:yay: only 5 more days for me
:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Busy and exhausted! ::yes::
We have 2 this week and 3 next (plus a P.A. Day....but I don't count that one!)
:stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2: :stitch2:

And then there were FOUR
popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::
Hugs to all of us counting down and to the parents looking forward to spending the summer holidays with their kids.
Hugs Mel

4 more days... 4 more days...

We can do this, right???

From a tired fellow teacher who's SK students are driving her CRAZY!!!:scared:

LOL, oh, Starr, it's true. :rotfl2: These past days, even the KIDS, are at the end of their ropes. My "perfect" student has had arguments with her best friend every day this week. They've lost the idea that they are big enough to solve the 'little problems' (we use Kelso's Choice), and come to me with things that were dealt with in September. :confused3 And if I hear one more time: "He butted me" (insert WHINING voice here), I am going to EXPLODE! :furious:
We have an assembly and Play Day today (perfect weather!), so this one, shouldn't be too bad!

:hippie: :hippie: :hippie: :hippie:

:teacher: Four days for me to go too (well not including the P.A. day on Friday )whoo hoo!! :cool1: My SK's just had their "grad" yesterday and then I have to get through organizing playday for the primary division and two class picnics and I 'm free.:rotfl:

3 more days of kids!!!

Debbie: LOVED the exploding head! That's how I felt yesterday too!!!:rotfl2:

shaycamp21: I feel for you! I'm so glad we don't do graduation for our kindergarten kids. I don't think I could handle putting on 2 graduation ceremonies at this time of year!

Actually today wasn't bad at all. The same group of kids that was driving me insane yesterday calmed down today. We had a really fun day. I only have one more day with them next week (and 2 with my other group), so if Tuesday goes like today, things should be OK (knock on wood...:goodvibes )

Two days of weekend and then:

pirate: pirate: pirate: more days
pirate: pirate: pirate: more days
Hear the happy teacher say
pirate: pirate: pirate: more days
Bouncing off the four walls
Hanging from the lights
Hear the happy teacher say
pirate: pirate: pirate: more days!
