Dearly departed attractions...

:Pinkbounc The Walt Dated World site is a great one! I just tried it and the link worked fine, maybe it was just too busy after it had been mentioned in this post. :Pinkbounc

Ah, the imortal strains of:

"Veggie, FRUIT - FRUIT. Veggie - Veggie, FRUIT - FRUIT."

(NOW just TRY to get it out of your BRAIN!)

Muuaaawwwwaa- ha -HAAAAAaaaaaa!

lol i still sing that around the house driving people nutty. i miss kitchen kaberet, the orginal journey into imagination i loved the dreamfinder, mr. toad i will not ride the pooh ride even though i love tigger and eeyore wish they would rebuild toady back for us better and improved and 2 tracked again i know i can dream, horizons, the skycabs, i have a feeling timekeeper will be joining these ranks soon :sad2:

I loved Horizons. And I miss the whole Wonders of Life pavillion. That was one of my favorites.

I don't think this is the same as the delta, but I remember the old eastern airlines attraction-I rode it back in 1980. I also loved alien encounter. :wizard:

I forgot about the Diamond Horseshoe Review...I loved that and wanted to be a saloon girl (can can) when I grew up. My family had other aspirations.
Also, loved the Mile Long Bar, thought it was a cool name.
And the House of Magic on Main St...I forgot all about that!

Alien Encounter, particulary the part featuring XS-Tech. It was really only a slight exageration from the way real corporations think, lol.

Also, Cranium Command, and the Skyway. At least they didn't replace these with something featuring Stitch!

MR TOAD!! I loved Mr Toad and was so mad when they took that ride away. I didn't know about the change in the narration for Spaceship Earth -- good thing I don't like that ride anyway! i'll remember it with Walter Cronkite's voice and I'll never have to ride it again! :)

I miss Kitchen Kaberet also.

Also miss DreamFlight (I am one who also rode it ALL the time as a kid), Alien Encounters, & Mr. Toad at MK
Horizon & Motion and the original Imagination ride (loved figment) at Epcot

Also.. was there ever a "ride" or mover in Living Seas???

I swear I remember something back when it 1st opened

At MGM I miss the old backlot tour. It used to be a lot more interesting and fun. Also back then there used to be more filmed on the lot then. I went to school with a Mouseketeer so we went to a few tapings.

I miss the Skyride. For one thing, it was great to just put my feet up, relax, and enjoy the view. For another, seeing it reminded me of the World's Fair in New York and I was 12 yo again!
I also miss the old Spaceship Earth, not so much Walter Cronkite's narration but "Tomorrow's Child".

I loved If you had Wings and Mr Toad. Me and my sister miss those rides the most. Winnie the Pooh and Buzz are good but we have childhood memories on the oldies but goodies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Alien Encounter! Stitch just isn't doing it for me...I also miss the REAL Journey to Imagination and Mr. Toad. I also don't like the changes they made to the Beauty and the Beast stage show over the last few years.

I hope we don't look at the new Pirates the same way we look at the new Journey to Imagination...lets hope they do this right!

Not a ride, but I miss the old restaurant that was where Playhouse Disney Live! now resides. The first time I went there it was all Beauty and the Beast decor complete with the staircase and holographic rose.

I miss 20,000 Leagues and the original Tiki Room. They are 2 of the handful of attractions that I remember from my first visit back in 1979. My oldest DD is the same way, she doesn't remember much from her first visit either which is weird because we weren't that young. :confused3

Toad For President!

My only choice for remembering Toad now is to get out my Ichabod and Mr Toad DVD. :cheer2:

How about the old Discovery Island? Skyway to Tomorrowland, and I miss the bandleader dressed like the Music Man when you entered the MK. I miss them playing "76 Trombones". I miss the submarines from Capt. Nemo, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and I miss the RCA display when you exited Space Mountain. I miss the Milk Carton as emcee for the three dairy starlets in Kitchen Kabaret, one of whom sounded like Zsa Zsa Gabor. I also miss the space age suits everyone wore at Epcot. Remember those? :teeth:

Agreed with everyone mentioning Alien Encounter and my favorite pseudo-corporation, X-S Tech. I go into depressive fits when I think about what they did to that attraction now...

Also, I miss Spaceship Earth when it used to play Tomorrow's Child at the top of the ride. But I do enjoy the current version of that ride, so I won't complain too much.

Two tiny wings
Eyes big and yellow
Horns of a steer
But a lovable fellow!
From head to tail
He's royal purple pigment
And there, Voila!
You've got a Figment :figment:

I had to call Disney one day recently and Imagination was the song playing while I was on hold.

I also miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride with its two separate tracks.

The first time I went to the MK in 1975, it reminded me so much of the NY World's Fair. Went there both years (64-65), when I was 15. Such a great fair. Too bad they don't do those anymore.
