Hey All!

Can you please tell me if you've gotten a deal on a bunk bed?? DH and I are trying to price them out to see what we've got to save to get one and the prices are crazy! I'm ideally hoping to pick one up at a garage sale this summer or the local thrift shop but if I have to break down and buy one, I need a direction in which to go to get a good deal on one.

TIA! :goodvibes

You can find them cheap at Kmart and Walmart (under $200). I have heard that they are not for kids under 6 (at least not the top bunk), are you looking for your 4 yr old?

I would check the craigslist ads for your area. I have seen really nice ones from Rooms to Go listed at pretty good prices.

I bought a set from Walmart on clearance. It was regularly $199, but marked down half off when they were changing styles. It has held up quite well and is pretty solid.

Where do you live? We will have one for sale later this spring when we re-do dd's room over!;)

We got ours at Big Lots. They are very thick, solid pine and ran us about $200 (not including the matresses.) They are beautiful and very sturdy.

We just got one at simplybunkbeds.com I really wanted a wood one for my boys (10 and 4). We did a twin over full. I think it was $599. There wasn't any sales tax for my state and no delivery fees. Set-up wasn't bad and it is really sturdy. We found a good price on Serta bunk bed mattresses too.

I am - he'll be 5 this summer and he'd be on the bottom bunk for a while to "start out" (Mommy's a bit too paranoid to let him sleep in the top bunk!) I was thinking about getting them this summer, putting him in the bottom bunk and then maybe around Christmas time think about moving him to the top if he has any interest in sleeping up there. There's no hurry at this point as his brother's only 2 and would get DS4's toddler bed until he grows a bit.

WOW! That sounds like a good deal!

We're in SC - near Hilton Head Island. :goodvibes

We were looking at bunk beds this past weekend at unclaimed freight, they had some really good deals. Such good deals we thought about buying a bunk bed and we don't even have kids yet :lmao:
