I was a volunteer at my daughter's (10YO) Girl Scout Day camp, and her behavior was horrible. She was trying to hang on me, she was wanting me to carry her stuff, she wasn't participating in any song stuff, she came over in tears because she didn't like that she was eliminated from a "simon-says" type of game. So, there was a final straw just while the group was gathering for the closing flag ceremony. I quietly informed her that it was time to go - now. She - once again broke into tears. I stood firm - we were going. She tries to bribe me with I'll pay you $10 if I can stay until the end. NO! She says good-bye to some friends she made at camp, and we start the walk over to the car.

Then she says "I'm sorry." That's fine - I explained to her, however we are still leaving.

She was fast asleep within 15 minutes after we got home.

Wonder if the Wednesday night overnight caught up to her! ;)

She is furious with me, as she did not receive the badge that her group earned this week. I told her that since she did not get the badge with the group - if she can prove that she met all 6 of the requirements - that she may purchase one at her expense.

as a veteran scout mom...I can only sympathize...my favorite saying at that type of event "it's always the leaders' kids"
