I am going to BWV for 5 nights and today I added on 4 nights at SSR!:cool1: I was told today by member services that if I decide to do the Ddp I will have to buy the plan for wed thru sun at SSR and then turn around and buy the plan again for BWV sun thru fri!:sad2: So, I would have 2 days of dining on that Sun!   Is this right?? :confused3 So, instead of having 9 nights of dining, I would have 10! :scared1: Can they not seperate and only do the actual 9 that I will be there??:rolleyes1 :sad2:  Has anyone else had this problem with a split DVC ressie???:confused3

Someone at MS is misinformed. You may buy the plan for each resort or both. If you buy for both, you will be charged per night, so you will not be paying double for the day you change resorts. The DDP credits are good from check-in until midnight on checkout day, so that may be where the confusion came regarding double charging. Call back and speak to another CM at MS.

You will have 9 "days" worth of credits to use,as it goes by the number of "nights" of the reservation. In other words, you will have 4 nights worth of credit that can be used wed through sunday, and 5 nights worth of credits that can be used sunday through friday, for a total of 9 nights worth of credits, total. That is how the agreement works between Disney Travel and DVC to allow DVC to even offer the plan. But as the previous poster said, you do not HAVE to buy the plan for both reservations. But whichever reservation you do buy the plan for MUST include all nights on that reservation for everyone staying in that room.

How does the DDP work when you stay within the same resort, but just change rooms, as in you stay in a studio from Fri. - Sun to save points, then switch to 1 bedroom for the next four nights? Would these be considered two different ressies where you could buy the DDP for the first 3 nights only?

Yes, whenever you change room sizes it is a separate reservation and the DDP would be separate for each.

Thanks Chuck. We enjoyed the DDP on our last trip, but were stuffed after 7 days of it and took home lots of snacks. 3 Nights of DDP would be awesome. Good to know.

To the Op make sure you know that if you buy the dining plan for both ressies, make sure that you use all of your snack credits on your first stay by midnight of your transfer day. We did this last year, we were behind on using our snacks and had to shop to catch up or we would have lost those credits.

Actually make sure you use all of the credits from the first stay by midnight of the transfer day. We actually had CS credits to use like that one trip so used some for breakfast and then bought snacks while at the park that day using up the first credits.

The plan is per night, not per day, so no you wouldn't actually be buying extra. However, having used the plan several times, I would advise just getting it for 1 segment of your trip- the first part probably would be best. By the time you are on the plan 5 nights, you won't want to eat much the next four.

Currently it's counted as two stays however Disney has a history with other programs (food n fun) as a single stay at the same resort even for different unit sizes. So this is an area that could easily change.

I also want to emphasize that one would need to use up ALL credits from the first portion by the end of the changeover day. And to be sure you actually use those from the first stay and not mistakenly use the ones from the new unit on the changeover day.
