DDP vs. DDE

We will be taking our son and his family this fall. We have alot of lunches planned at table services. And 2 breakfasts. The rest will be cs. Would we be better off switching to the DDP which we would have to pay for. The kids have never been there and want to spend most of the time on rides and shows. We have always used the DDE and felt like we saved a lot of money.

Sit down with the menus...add up your costs. Then compare it to what you would spend using DDE, and then using DDP. I tend to use a combination of the two. We always eat one TS meal a day, usually dinner. A counter service lunch at late morning. I'm going in August and I've done the numbers about 8 times now...I keep thinking I'm missing something. But, each time the DDP comes out about $30 more than the DDE. I have already got the DDE card, it has paid for itself over and over. But, if I used just the DDE, I find that we don't eat the same way...we try to watch our pennies so to speak. So...we'll spend the $30 and pay for convenience.

I assume you are DVC members? If not, there are additional costs associated with getting the DDP that you would also have to take into account (no AP discount on the room + 1-day MYW tickets for however many AP holders you have).
