DDP - TS Question - Swapping Dessert for Salad/Soup?

Does anyone have experience with certain places that do this?

I have only tried it twice.

Tutto Italia gladly offered the soup or salad as a substitute for dessert.
Yak & Yeti would not offer any substitutes.

Is there a list or thread or maybe we could get one going with people's experiences?

The problem is that what happens on one day may not happen on another. This particular swap is totally up to the discretion of each restaurant, so there is no norm.

That doesn't mean it wouldn't be helpful to know where it has happened, but I wouldn't want anyone to make decisions on where to eat and be counting on it.
