Hello! We recently returned from WDW and I have a question about the DDP. At Chefs de France for lunch, one of my companions ordered a salad and dessert only. We were originally at one table but decided to move due to the sunlight coming in the glassed porch. The original server told her that would be fine for the DDP. When we moved, she ordered the salad and dessert from our next server. When the check came, the server would not allow her to use the DDP and made her pay out of pocket for the meal. My companion did not want to push it, so she paid. Who is right???

The salad is an appetizer. Techically, the restaurant might allow one to order an appetizer in place of an entree. Sounds like the second server was going by the book and saying she couldn't order an appetizer on DDP. There may have been some misunderstanding that she wanted an appetizer in place of her entree. That's generally permited, but it's up to the restaurant.

Your companion should have pushed it, especially if the first server agreed. Best thing to do would be consult a manager.
