DDP or DDE or BOTH? Please help

I'm a first time AP holder and was wondering if the DDP was more cost effective than using the DDE card? Or should I get both? We don't eat enough to warrant getting the DDDP. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

We are AP holders and use both the DDP and the DDE. We use the DDE on alcoholic beverages and anything else not included on the DDP, like appetizers.

I had the same question, we have done the disney dining plan a few times and are trying the DDE card this next trip, it seems like it may work out to be more economical for us using the DDE card. can you use both the DDE and Disney dining for the same meal? I find that the disney dining plan only seems to work out to be a better bargain if you use the sit down meaks for dinner reservations as opposed to lunch sit down meals. The dining plan seemed to be a better bargain when it included gratuity and appetizers.

Can you use both the DDE and Disney dining for the same meal?

Yes. The DDE discount is applied to anything that the DDP doesn't cover, such as alcoholic beverages or appetizers.

thanks for that info, I wasnt aware that it could be combined. Is it also true that the DDE cant be used for candlelight processional and reserved priority seating dining such as Fantasmic at hollywood studios?
