I am hoping to get to WDW in March and have booked air and DIsney hotel. My dad will be recovering from surgery, so my plans will have to remain tentative. As such, I don't want to commit to too much ahead of time. Will I be able to book DDP upon arrival , :when I also will be purchasing my park tickets? Thanks in advance for any replies. :confused3

You can only get DDP if you have a package (room and tickets). You need to add the dining plan at least five days prior to arrival.

There are different reports about how long beforehand you have to book it, but what is very clear is that Disney consistently and explicitly states that the Dining Plan must be added prior to check-in. (Most often, I read "three days", but I've also read "five days" a lot.)

It's 3 days, or 72 hours, prior to check in for WDTC. I think some have posted where their TA say they need 5 days.
And as stated, DDP requires a WDTC package which includes the same MYW park tickets for everyone in the package.
