How does the DDP work if I have an annual pass?

If I book a trip during free Dining next year someone told me I would have to buy a one day ticket in addition to having my AP is that correct?

I just booked for Dec. The process was quite painless. I was booking room only with AP discount, the CM just converted it to a package and added the DDP, no extra tickets. The other upside (in this case) was only needing $200 down, instead of the first night room rate.

It is still true for the free dining you will need to buy the one day ticket, as that is a package offer. We are going then too!

cool thanks. Someone told me you would have to add a one-day ticket to get DDP, specifically free dining around September so I wanted to double check.

If you want to get the dining for free, you do have to buy the one day park ticket. Otherwise, if you want to pay for dining, do what the PP said.

This is correct. We just did it and have the one day passes for a future use. You can keep the one day and apply it to a AP renewal or other ticket.

Exactly right. FREE dining is available only with a room/tickets package. However, the dining is tied to the room, not the ticket. You can buy as little as a one day base ticket for everyone in the room; however, you must buy tickets of some type if you want the dining free.

If you don't want to buy the ticket, you can get an AP holder room/dining package. With that package, the dining is NOT free, you pay for it.

Do you also get an annual pass discounted room when using disney dining or does the room have to be full rack rate to purchase or use free dining. thanks, Maria

To get the dining free, you MUST pay rack rate and you MUST buy tickets of some type. As stated above, you can buy as little as a one-day base ticket per person, but to get free dining you have to buy tickets. The annual pass is irrelevant if you are booking free dining. Disney does not combine discounts, and the free dining would be considered a discount.

If you are booking a room/dining package for annual passholders, you may be able to apply an AP room discount to the package. But you will not be able to get the dining free.
