I have just received the travel city direct preview 2012 brochure and read that the dining plan no longer includes dessert!

We always go when free dining is on so it's more affordable (we prefer to stay on site)

Do you think this is fact and the decision has been made or are TCD hedging their bets?

We had exactly the same thing with CO and VH last year. When the DDP came out, it was still included. I wouldn't read too much into it. In fact, last year VH actually had a note in the brochure stating it in as many words: No more dessert (I seem to recall that was with CS meals and TS still included it). It was posted on the US Boards too and as you can imagine, there was a big outcry with people contacting Disney to express their dissatisfaction. Whether or not this had anything to do with it we will never know. but the DDP brochure was released around August time and remained unchanged except for the second juice with CS breakfast which was removed.

Thanks 2tiggies... I'm just getting far to excited about planning next year as we can't afford to go this year but in doing so I'm getting a little ahead of myself!

Fingers crossed for desserts in 2012! I just love a Disney dessert!

I've quickly checked both the TCD preview brochures for 2011 and 2012 and they both read the same on the DDP pages. Waiter (Table) Service meal includes a choice of one main course and one single-serving of non-alcoholic beverage or one full buffet and one single-serving of non-alcoholic beverage.

Admittedly it doesn't state it includes a dessert with a table service meal but I think that TCD has just not added a dessert in both of their brochures, hopefully a mistake, as a full buffet includes dessert and so should a table service.

This is what happened last year. In the initial UK brochure releases it simply omitted the dessert from what was included with the meals, while the official Dining Plan Brochures by Disney specifically itemise everything that is included, dessert as well. But the current official info we have to go on from Disney is for the 2011 Dining Plan. The OP is referring to info for 2012 and we won't know for certain until Disney releases next year's Dining Plan brochure.
