Does any Brit have experience of using the Disney Dining Experience card? Am I right that the years validity starts on the day of purchase.

We are planning 2 trips: Xmas 2007 & early November 2008 so clearly I will need to wait until mid November to order it but will that mean that it gets delivered to the UK in time for Christmas?

I believe a temporary card can be picked up from CS at Epcot but we arrive late in the day and have an ADR at MK for breakfast the next day which I'd like to use the card for if possible!

(I am aware of the blackout dates over the festive period but it still seems a worthwhile investment!)

Please excuse my ramblings - if anyone can translate them and share any advice I'd appreciate it :)

Jo, I bought the DDE card last year. I ordered it in the first week in November and it came in time for our trip the 1st 2 weeks in December. It is valid until the end of November so I will be able to use it this trip.

We found it excellent value for money especially if you can use it for 2 trips. I t basically pays for your tips and the discount is taken off alchol too! I highly recommend it.:)

Yes, I've got one and I've just received my replacement which arrived within about 2-3 weeks of ordering (they say to allow 3-6). I ordered it mid June and it arrived at the beginning of July with an expiry date of 31/7/08.

If you order at the end of October, you should get a 30/11/08 expiry and still receive it in time for your 07 trip.

we covered the price of it in 2 days
can you order it with only have the AP voucher ,not planning on using the AP untill will get there

You can get a temporary card from the guest services at Epcot so if you order it on the last date of your November trip so that it is still valid when you are there in 2008 it should arrive in time but if not you'll have to head over to Epcot to collect the temporary one. From memory ours took 2-3 weeks to arrive.

It is valid for 12 months, but it is usually dated for a bit long, in 2006 we ordered the DDE card in the middle of sept when we arrived and picked up a temp card from Epcot on the same day. When the real card arrived it was valid until the end of October 2007.

It seems that you get a few extra weeks, and the end fo the month it expaires are depends when you order it, I'd wait until you get there, or only a few days befor,e anfd arrange to pick the temp one up from Epcot guest services. That way you will get the longest validity and easily do the twpo trips you are planning.

I got mine with just the AP voucher. It's a great card to have! Think they come a lot quicker now than they did when they first opened it to AP holders!
