DDE Card - what food courts accept this?

Just got back on Friday afternoon.....used the DDE at POP..no problems....no questions......I just checked out allears.......and all food courts for the value hotels are still listed.......either they didn't update the site....or the "rumors" are wrong.....no update needed.....DDE remains the same.....so now.....where does that leave us.....in a big dark hole withou an answer.......anone have official word??????

Sorry, but can you tell me where on this list you see the food courts at the AllStars, POP or POFQ?

This is copied directly from AllEars. Not trying to be a pain, just wondering where you saw that. I see the bar at Pop, not the food court and the AllStars aren't even listed.

I called DDE yesterday with questions about getting our card prior to our trip and was told that the only food courts that DDE was accepted at were at the resorts with no table service offerings. She mentioned POP, AllStars, and AKL (which threw me b/c AKL has TS).

Exactly my point. AKL has two TS and their food court has never been on the list. She probably meant AK which does accept the DDE card because there is no TS at AK (yet - one is rumored to be coming).

Like I said before, this is just about the only thing that bothers me about WDW. We know more than they do most of the time, which is great for us, but not great for others who aren't "in the know" about the message boards. It's really sad.

Well, that's what we are all trying to figure out. We can't get a straight answer from anyone. AllEars and the WDW website do not list any food courts as participating locations. However, many report using the DDE at the food courts with no problems. So, we don't really know for sure if the food courts are accepting the card by "mistake" or if the official lists that are on those sights are incorrect.

It's really confusing and frustrating, but we are trying to get a straight answer from someone so everyone knows what's correct. We just aren't getting very far!

We used the DDE card at All-Star Music food court on Friday 1/27 and for a snack at the Food Court on Saturday 1/28.

However, the pool bar at All-Star Music food court would not accept it because they don't serve food.

Please, excuse me; this is the first year we have APs. I haven't bought my DDE card yet. I guesss that I was under the impression that it could be used in the parks at CS not just at TS. I am now guessing I was wrong. Now, the problem is if the card is accepted at CS at resorts...right? Do that many of you go to TS meals while staying at WDW? Is the card worth it, if you go to maybe 2 TS meals during your stay? Most of our meals for the next trip will be CS, DS will be with us....budget trip. On our honeymoon it would have come in handy, we ate at TS everyday. Just not sure if it's worth getting. If I am wrong, please, advise me!!! Thank You!!!

The general rule of thumb with DDE was that it was good at TS restaurants only unless the location had no TS option (AK park, value resorts, SSR). There is NO DDE DISCOUNT at MK, MGM, or Epcot CS restaurants. It seems that Disney has made a change concerning the resort food courts (available at SSR and value resorts) so that they are no longer included in the DDE program; many seem to be still getting the discount but it is probably wise to plan on not getting the discount and being pleasantly surprised if you do.

As for it being worth it for only a couple of TS meals in a trip, probably not unless you are doing $$$ meals and/or planning to return for another trip within the usage year of the card. We save a ton with ours because we (2 adults, dd5, ds2) generally eat 2 TS a day (1 character meal, 1 nicer sit-down) and almost no CS and we use the card for several trips. We also make use of the free valet parking (which really does add value to the card if you use it) and even the admission discount to PI. If you are not using it for multiple TS meals and for more than one trip then you are probably better off without it. Sit down and look at the menus and prices for the TS meals (and any eligible CS meals) you are planning (including alcohol, valet parking, PI admission - whatever you would use) and see how it comes out.

Ah ha. No wonder. I will email AllEars and let them know that they have 2 different listings on their site. They probably were not aware of the 2 different links.

Sorry Wendy1953, I guess there are 2 different lists on AllEars, thus leading to some of the confusion. The list you are looking at is 2005, the one I posted is the 2006 list.

Thank you -- I was very excited to see the revision. I guess we will never know if the previous list was an error...or if so many people kept calling to check on it that they (DDE) decided it wasn't worth the hassle to exclude it. Whatever the reason, I'm a happy camper!

That is great news. I cannot find it on the WDW website. My AP has expired and I plan on buying a new one when I go next so I cannont sign onto the passholder site now. Is POFQ back too?
