DDE card question

Several reports somewhere on these boards said they were finding valet charges on their bill at checkout (or prior if they were checking). I don't know how the valet would know who to charge...

hmm...strange...no one ever asked me what resort I was at or anything like that. I must say that when I pull up I always say "DDE is still free right?" because as we've learned WDW can change their policies on a whim.

I've never been charged a valet fee for parking while using my DDE card. Like another poster, I tip the valet a few dollars--but that's it!:wizard:

The DVC boards have several reports of incorrect valet charging to you room account. The common complaint is that service has gotten worse since Disney contracted the valet service out.

But I don't understand how they know who to charge? They never ask me any personal info or where I'm staying. Like I said I always say "Free right?" before I hand over my keys. I guess that helps too.

To us no need for a second card.

They did charge me last year, but only for the valet parking I use at my resort. I did showed them my DVC ID. They charged me anyway so I call the front desk and they took it of the bill. I think this is the kind of charges the boards refer to. Not when you go for meals at other resorts.

That's what I'm probably thinking of - DVC members get free Valet at their resorts, but are still getting charged.

If the valets somehow figure out what room you are in, though...check your charges.

When you register at the resort do they want your auto license number? If so, the valet my be able to do a search of registration records.
