Morning, Gents! Woke up yesterday to a light dusting of snow, which was gone by mid-morning, but it actually snowed! I do believe winter's trying to make an entrance. As much as I hate shoveling snow, I do hope we get at least one good snowstorm. Spent most of yesterday online looking for work, tweaking my resume to fit the job I was applying for and whatever else I could do to secure work. I'm almost at the point of looking for seasonal jobs somewhere...but we'll see. I did apply to a couple of Per Diem jobs with the local healthcare group. I'm not expecting anything from them as they are notoriously difficult to get on with, but I figure, "Hey! It's per diem, maybe I have a shot." and when for it. It is the season for the Christmas miracle, so anything is possible.
Oh, there is no cutting back here. We are in full on spend mode, always have been. DW and I perpetually overspent, just on different things. We haven't figured in out in 20 years, so we aren't likely to now. It's sad that I have to find extra income to support extra spending.
My DW is a big penny pincher. Me? I don't over spend, but I do spend more than I should....so a balance? Probably not, but I'd like to think so.

Actually, I have cut back a lot. Most of my spending came in the form of food. The law firm I worked at in Boston had a full-Service cafeteria, so I bought more lunches than I took to work. Now that I'm working closer to home I'm not spending as much on food...though if I'm out and it's close to lunch, well...
I enjoyed season 1. For a while, it was just a Western with the villain-of-the-week structure, but the last 2 episodes of season 1 were really good. Season 2 started the same way, but episodes 5 and 6 really kicked it up a notch. I get most of my comic relief from Baby Yoda.
Episodes 5 and 6 definitely kicked it up a notch. And yeah, Baby Yoda is the comic relief in that show.
That being said, more fart jokes are always welcome.
Who doesn't like a good fart joke?
I had tacos last night.
Hay y'all,
Hope y'ens are well and prospering.
I actually signed on for a spot of my own vacation time today.
Of course, it's simply because I have a medical procedure scheduled for this afternoon. A minor (but necessary) bit of preventative medicine here. The anesthesia is the only part of it that has anything that even resembles risk (unless they find something that is). But the prep work that has to be done beforehand is the truly horrific part of the processes.
Hope your procedure went well.
We had (well, I mean, I had) them running in the back ground while working on the decorations as well. Tree's up, but everything else is a mess while we figure out the best way to do up the new residence. It's a weird space in that it's bigger than the last one, but at the same time, it's not. Harder to make a plan.
Decorating a new house is always an interesting adventure. We've been in our house now 15 years, and I still don't know from year to year how I'm going to decorate.
Herd & peer mentality combined with a lack of forethought and anything that resembles the initiative required to do even a smidgen of research.
That's what it is. Someone at some point thought it would be fun to try, and then got some of his/her friends to try it. (Shakes head at the stupidity of it.)
Afternoon fellas, from a freezing, foggy mother country.
COVID just ticked up a notch in Casa Del Danny today, the boy threw up and had a temperature last night. So off we trotted this morning for a test, hopefully we find out tomorrow. So all of us are in Self isolation.
Hope the little guy tests negative for the virus, and that no one else in your family gets it.
Happy Tuesday. A lot sure does happen in a day. Went in at 1:30 AM for my UPS shift. Today, was larger than Cyber Monday. Had to leave early, didn't say the reason, and had my interview. Came home, and lost 4 pounds from day before - mostly sweat. Showered and drove to the interview. If you guessed it, that's 3 for 3, technically 5 for 5 counting Ragu and UPS. Just can't figure out why all these people wanna hire a crazy, conspiracy guy. Must be a profound level of desperation in a massively unemployed labor force. Yet, I digress. Got the salary offer I wanted, with extra pay for more clients seen (that's standard), ok mileage rate, good leave time, and supervision towards my independent license. The worst part about my job is the daily drive across the river. And while I won't have to get permission from the KY retirement Board, but I will have to get permission from Indiana's licensure board. Ugh.
