DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning Guys.

Up early for our last volleyball tournament of the season before we get in to our regional playoffs. The season has flown by and I think we are where we expected to be, top three in the Province right now. Unfortunately all three teams are in the same region and only two get to Provincials. It's too bad because the other half of the Province is pretty weak.

Hope you all have a good one.

Morning chaps from an overcast London. Happy May the 4th, Nanu Nanu or whatever it is.

Long weekend this week, so picked up some chicken thighs for a kellybob. Endgame at 10am tomorrow, so that should be cool, looking forward to it. Cardio tennis this am, and then the little one has a mates party back at the gym so I might stay with her and hit a few serves. Steak and asparagus on the menu tonight.

Good luck to DS mate, is that it now for sports for Dec?

Randall, hope you're enjoying the cruise Chief.....

Have a great weekend chaps.

Top O the Mornin Dads and May the 4th be with you! Monsoon season around here all day but have 2nd round of End Game with DS and then probably some wings or something for the two of us for dinner as DW is spending the day with friend for her daughters graduation. Me and the boy will be attending the grad party tomorrow. Have a good weekend gents.

I just did a new dance video with me.in the rhinestone thong. I'm editing it for SIZE to get it posted.
When you get it to ZERO bytes, that means your editing job is complete.

I'm still available for that highly paid employment. Put in a good word for me. The only qualifications I have are playing with legos.
Okay, since I lost the bid to have Dan be a domestic servant, throwing my ring in the hat here...

I can play with legos AND have a niece who works at Legoland.

This will be it for high school sports and he has opted not to play basketball at university in the fall. He thinks his first year course load will be heavy and he is really not interested in most likely being a red shirt in his first year.

We lost in the final today. Overall it was a rough day all around, we didn't play that well until the semi-final but did manage to finish OK so that was good.

I asked my son what that hand gesture meant since he does it all the time:confused3. he says if someone can put there finger through the hole they get to punch you:confused3. So I ask him why he does it all the time:confused3. His answer was Dad I'm half way to 2nd degree blackbelt would it really be wise to punch me:rotfl2::thumbsup2

Got back last week from a great easter trip. it was a lot less crowded then I thought it would be, found out many states had a spring break earlier since the get out middle of May:cool1:. Met up with Doc that is always a fun time, if you meet up with him in MK do not challenge him in Buzz Lightyear spin, unless you stop for a while in the frist room ( only time I've ever maxed out :lmao:) by the 2nd room he's gonna beat you with the almighty 999.999 by the 2nd room:scared1::eek:. Also in the HM area he can tell you how to meet some bats and trail a famous Disney horse too his food:scratchin:thumbsup2

Wow. This really feels like the end of an era! Good on him for having his priorities straight, though.

Welcome home, Randall! Hope it was a great trip.

Monday came again. I always hope it doesn't. Oh well.
Had a pretty good weekend.

Youngest DD finished her third of three dance competitions in as many months, she got 2 gold and 2 silver medals in her dances (all group dances, no solos). All that's left now is the June recital and it will be over for another year. My bank account will breathe a tiny sigh of relief for a couple months.

For those of you not on FB, I ended up going to the Star wars movie night at the local science centre. It felt a bit weird since I was there by myself, but since my girls were all at the dance competition, I could either stay home like a hermit (which I do plenty of) or I could get out of my comfort zone and see what the world has to offer. It was an OK night, got to see A New Hope on a big-ish screen and hung out with R2-D2. Other characters were there too, like Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, Jedis, but mostly kids were taking pictures with them, so I would have felt even more out of place had I got in line. Not a bad night, but probably not something I would do again alone.

Morning Guys.

Another beautiful day shaping up here in this little corner of the world, suppose to hit 20C (about 70 for you all) again today. Soccer season kicked off last night with out 1 game exhibition season and a 3-0 win. Regular season starts up Wednesday night. Couple of meetings this weeks to talk about getting help for new Canadians that want to play sports and a full day talking about getting more women and girls involved in sport. Other that that it should be a quiet week.

Have a good one all.

Hey Randall, hope the bus ride wasn't too bad and got got to enjoy Mntreal.

It does seem that way. That was a big reason I wanted to help out with the volleyball team this year, to get one more experience with DS before he was done. Well that and the thought that the guy coaching could really use some help.

Congrats to DD on the medals, that's a nice haul.

Congrats to you on the nerd night. ;)

Hey fellas, it's been a while.

Ended up getting that heart cath done two weeks ago. Had another afib attack and the doc decided we should get it done to rule out blockages and such. Good news, they didn't find anything wrong, so no stents or anything were required, so just treating the afib with meds. Was back to work the following Monday and have been doing pretty good since.

In more pleasant news, as of this morning, I finally FINALLY got all my ADRs that we wanted set up. Gonna keep an eye out to see if I can get a better time on some, but if not, I am okay with that. Now we wait to set up Fastpasses. (a side question: Can you set up multiple FP for one ride in the initial 3 for the day? Like if on HS day I wanted to FP Slinky Dog and Star Tours x 2, would that be possible? Or would I need to wait until I went through my first 3 FPs to schedule a 2nd Star Tours FP?)

In one month, we tell the girls about the trip. The anticipation is killing me. MAybe that's where the afib is coming from! lol!

Hey Dads,

It's been too long since my last visit and post to this neck o' the net. Hope everyone is doing well. We are gearing up for another trip to WDW in September. Should be epic, as the oldest DD (10) is becoming much more adventurous and the youngest DD will be 7 by then and is now tall enough for everything except Primeval Whirl and RnR.

Very much looking forward to some major Quality Time.

We will also be doing a day at Universal to take in all that is Harry Potter.

Life is good. Hope all is well with all of you.

Well, the comment about buzz is accurate unless I get a crappy gun....

The comment about HM is only partially true...what Ron is not telling you is the only reason I know those things is he told me.

Something I did find out on my own...there's a picture on HM now, but I'm still not certain where? I think it's the first hallway where the pictures are because one seems to flash for every doom buggy. It's also possible it's near the end when a hitchhiking ghost is riding with you.

I think they're still working the kinks out because I got a picture of two people that look nothing like me and my daughter.

Good news about the heart...I think.

No, you can't do two of the same. As per Ron's comment about BLY...that's my favorite...gotten double galactic hero twice now. I usually book things I either don't want (read easy to get FP for), scan my band and then immediately try to book something I want. I've done BLY many times in a row and could've kept going if I hadn't needed to leave.

So...if there's nothing else you want a 3rd FP for, just get one for something close to ST and then scan, but don't ride and then immediately go on MPS (most people call it MDE, but I call it Major Piece of S**t). As an IT person, when an app is that prone to crashing or not working or dying, it's a piece of ----. When it works right, it's nice...just wish it worked more than about 50% of the time

If you want to meet up, PM me.

I find it ironic(dumb) that primeval hurl, which is more geared towards kids is as restrictive on height.
