DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Yes we were discussing your future employment opportunities :lmao::lmao::lmao:
Don't let the smiles fool you...

It may have looked like we were enjoying Disney, but we were really in serious and heated negotiations about a certain prospective employee.

What we've agreed is a settlement...Rob gets you in the summer and I get you in the winter. That way you never have to deal with extreme temperatures.

For spring and fall, we will either negotiate directly or offer incentive programs.

Well DisDads, I've just entered uncharted territory that I'm sure many of you are all too familiar with, but that we all must eventually...
My older daughter, in 3rd grade, has had a little boy "pal" for several years, and probably because of Valentine's Day coming up, and with a little help from their mutual friends, they both finally admitted that they are each other's "crush." She spent the rest of the day just giddy, in a different sort of way than I have really seen before.
My little baby girl has her first real crush on a boy - this is scary stuff!! :scared:

Happy Tuesday. Still cold and raining.

Just poured the last double Rum. :drinking1Time to head back to Canada, to stock up on more.
Sadly our escape from the frozen tundra has to end. Fly home tomorrow morning.
We had a great time at WDW. Got to meet Ron , Doc and their families, made some great friends.:grouphug:

Yeah, that's the worst part of the trip - the end of it. Looks like you had a good time.

One of my best mates has just booked to go to WDW for what he reckons is the only time he's going. He's flying out in 7 weeks, and asked me to "sort out his restaurants and stuff". So that's gonna be a challenge.

I think Liverpool have to win every game from here on in to win the Prem. I don't think City are going to lose.
.

Ah yes, sorting out WDW for the ones who have never been on short notice. Good luck. When DW and I went on our honeymoon, I looked at nothing. I didn't even know there were 4 theme parks. We went in September with low crowds, and were able to do most everything.

As for Liverpool, they won't get the goal difference, so Man City will have to lose and Liverpool will have to win everygame. I think City will repeat.

Good news is that at least it's only third grade. It gets worse as they get older. Then, they reach crazy hormonal teenager and you are ready to marry them off to get them out of the house.

Morning, folks.
Got to sleep in a little bit... but oldest DD made sure it was only a bit.
Is there a louder creature than a teen? (yeah she's 21... close enough)

Female bartenders?

That'd work. Send some over.

Because you already set those expectations too high.

:headache:
Dang it! What have I done?

Yes. What was the question? Are you sending me female bartenders? Yes then. And by bartenders, do you mean models? You can send that Victoria Secret angel Rosie on over and she can teach me whatever she likes.

You mean her?

Sadly our escape from the frozen tundra has to end.

The day with the most suckage ever.

Oh boy. Good luck with that.

@pkondz enjoy your day off mate.

So far, despite it starting a bit earlier than I want... not bad. I'm here and have done nothing else.

Another frigid morning up here but it is suppose to warmup to -7C in order to bring in the snowstorm tomorrow. My flight is later this afternoon so hopefully we don't hit it on our way west.

Good luck!

Heh. Hang in there. The good news? It gets worse.

Wait... that's not good news.

Still cold and raining.

Not possible. Cold = snow.

Top O the Mornin Dads! That's all I got as inlaws and their situation is wearing us out (mostly DW), work is batcrud crazy and I needed to do the backstroke to get to the office this morning. Have a good one
Sucks that it ends but you are flying back in time for Wednesday's storm. My flight out for Wednesday morning has been changed to tomorrow afternoon.
Good that they are moving it up not back but then that means another night on the road for you and what is already a long trip

Though hard to deal with one's little princess growing up and having a boy crush, this will pass and be the easier of the boy stuff that lies ahead. So drink up, but save some 'cause ................

Looks like you had a blast! Thanks for sharing and getting the place ready for us, safe travels home.

Morning everyone, sitting in MCO flights delayed, not the way I wanted to spend more time in Florida. Toronto has a snow storm plans delayed getting out of there.

A proper introduction since I jumped right in mid-thread critisizing the groups criteria for fried poultry, admitted I had been influenced by a foreign government, and then in true modern form had a number slapped on me (#857 reporting for duty!) and was greeted with demands for frothy pineapple, liquid courage, and pork products!... (Not Kosher?!?)
:badpc: 'makes dad jokes...' check. And now fun facts:

-Call me Mac, even though my last name has no 'A' that fact has been largely ignored since since 1985, when it became a thing in kindergarten.
-Previous 'posts' (a Northerner who grew up in the South...): NY, NJ, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, London - UK. Only NYC, UK and Currently in NJ, down the Shore as a 'grown up'
-Former rugby union player, now mostly coach and referee. Still get to do a bit of traveling for that.
-Married my lovely wife at the shiny new (at the time...) Waldorf Astoria Orlando, which apparently counts as "Disney Property" and says as much right on our marriage license. Spent the next day at MK, as one does.
-1 munchkin, boy, born in England, also NOT currently dating your daughter...
-I wrote a strongly worded letter to the WD Co in 1998 when the Enchanted Tiki Room went "Under New Management" expressing my distain since it made my word-for-word singalong much more difficult...
-As much as Dole Whips are tasty, and rum makes them fun... My #1 adult beverage will always be a Mai Tai in the Tambu Lounge, family tradition. Even have a set of the Tiki glasses from the 80's my parents saved for me.
-I run b/c I like to eat, and drink, and be lazy... Lots of Marathons b/c that's a race that can hurt you if you don't respect it. Just did Dopey 2019, fun! (and must have just missed you guys) Already booked in for Marathon 2020.
-I was mistaken for a Cast Member 2x this past marathon week b/c I was wearing a Trader Sam's button down and khakis... 1st one thought it was funny, and was asking something I knew (always be nice, until it's time to not be nice - RoadHouse) the 2nd didn't like that I was helping my wife with our son but not her with whatever it was she wanted and resulted with me using the F-bomb on Disney Property, one of my big No-Nos.
-Will be back to the Poly to celebrate IronWifey's (slightly more crazy wife is into IronMan... for basically same reasons) 40th on the dreaded July 4 week...

I really fit too many of those DIS Dad criteria, really a bit frightening.

As the late great Rodney Dangerfield would say. I'm alright now but last week I was in rough shape let mr tell you:sick:. Day after we got home last week I came down with a touch of the flu glad I got the flu shot:scared1:, got a extra 2 days off from work and when I did work it was right to bed:eek:. Figure I must of got it at the airport, it's nice to see that so many are so willing to share their sickness. With all the coughing and sneezing going on in the check point line, I'm surprised we all didn't catch it:scratchin

Anyway we had a Great time meeting up with Rob and his family at Epcot, and we had a couple Moraccoritas:drinking1:thumbsup2. Hope to meet up again for future drinking:goodvibes:drinking1

Also meet up with Doc and DD:cool1: we always have a good time:thumbsup2. I want to Thank Doc for giving me a complete set of Transportation Cards:thanks:. I do have to say Doc is a real go getter on the cards, I can't believe how many CM's Doc is finding that have them:confused3. I gotta bring him some plastic cases to keep them in on my next trip:thumbsup2

On this trip we ate at The Boathouse, for me this was a one and done. Seems both my son and I are not fans of grass fed beef (has a gamey taste to it). A lot of people may say it is better for you, that's fine I'll save it for them:rotfl:

The one take-away I got from that is that you used a Roadhouse reference. That's all I needed.

Sorry to hear. Hope you're feeling better now.

Lots of slides over here. Going to be a messy week.

DS and I are heading to West Virginia on Friday. No school for him and I have a couple of programs to teach on Saturday. He will get 7 hours of driving time there and back to log for his required hours he needs before he takes his driving test this Spring. We still need to work on his 3-point turns and parallel parking.

You might be too athletic for this group, but as we lack any real standards, welcome. And just keep on conversing as we are all full of it - opinions that is. Tambu lounge is a great place, although I'll take the lapu lapu - a drink so nice they named it twice.

Sorry to hear about the flu. As for Boathouse, I've only ordered seafood there. I may have to do some surf n turf the next time to compare.

So thankful for HS driver's ed and bless the crazy teacher who spent all that time driving around with them. Good luck and safe travels.
