DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Major data conversion / system consolidation going with intercompanies converting to our data base - yea do it on the first of the month as that won't mess with things.........................
That doesn't sound like a recipe for disaster at all.

You're a tough Sarge, Mikey.

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one standing in Crews Cup Lounge for Jamesons Irish Whiskey Sours on Norm gets to take the Tooth Fairy home. Major girlfriend material. Every time you pull one out, she leaves you a gift.

Happy friday boys.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Well done, knew you had it in ya, or did she?

That's hitting just a bit too close to home here as I have several folks on standby this weekend including me. Only upside is I drew a line in the sand for my folks and positioned the reason we have modern tech like laptops and iPhone - people can be available for conversion stuff from home.

Some first day thoughts. Flying is terrific. I arrived without being completely exhausted. However, local airport flight was terrible. Small plane and lots of turbulence and had to fly into Sanford. So, I think I'll pay the higher price to fly out of Evansville with a larger plane and land for Magical Express in lieu of a rental car.

Oldest dd is in text world with new boyfriend, so she's done this trip as I separated her from her new Love of 5 days. I did get my MRI done today before I left, but it wasn't read, so I still have no idea.

Did early check in. Never been in this room before, but so far, so good. Arrived, beers, margarita, and pizza from pizza window on Boardwalk. Not bad for price. Sent the dds onto the pool and DW and I tried Abracadabra Bar. There was no magic. We didn't even order. Slow service. No magical drinks. Stuck exactly between Trattoria and Flying Fish. We said enough and went to Bellevue Lounge, which now features a TV, but still has St. Bernardus Abt 12 by the bottle.

We walked over to DHS for Star Wars fireworks. It was bad. They changed the show from when we here last. Volume is lower and fireworks are smaller. Sad. Now, I've got Hallowishes as my last favorite Fireworks show. And, they aren't running boat over to DHS from BWV. I see the new gondolas, which I can't help to wonder if they are the same failed gondolas from MK many years ago before my time.

Disney has changed. I'm ok with changes for the better, but it doesn't seem to be going that way. Get off my lawn. I'm going back to Bellevue.

I only like the good ones.

Which are all the Monty Python movies, with the greatest being the Holy Grail.

Get to the airport early which makes the vaca start sooner and relax with a bloody marry or a beer - never too early. Enjoy your trip friend and hope the knee holds up physically.

Yeah, so don't get a MRI before your flight. :lmao: As I pull in driveway, still 2 hours before, DW takes oldest dd to HS to get het artwork (and say goodbye to boyfriend). We arrived at airport maybe an hour before flight. And, no bar at my small local airport.

...or a bloody beer...

Huh? Tomato juice, vodka, beer? Sure, I'll try most anything.

My old faithful is Captain Morgan Spiced.
Ever tried English Harbour rum? It's produced in Antigua. I call it rum that tastes like whiskey. I like it with ginger ale (Canada Dry, of course).

..

Captain Morgan isn't anything special for me. DW likes it. I'll look for English Harbour.

Guess I'm not calling it today. I didn't see anyone at Crews Cup Lounge though.

In Disney, probably Myers Dark.

That's dreadful. :furious:

It's no longer a fireworks show, it's a spectacular. SWaGS has been very popular since it began. When were you there last? The current show has been performed for a couple of years. They tweak it a little from time to time, but nothing major. Oh, I was there tonight as well, I didn't see you.

Been drinking Cuba Libres since I was 16, it is my go to drink I like them with Bacardi amber. Can't see a reason to drink the stuff straight. ;)

Morning all. A day at WDW is a great day.

We were here last year - April for dds Spring Break. We've been once or twice a year since 2006. I was sitting out front of DHS last night on the benches in front of the Fantasia Mickey topiary. I could hear some of SW from the quiet pool on villas side at BWV, although that was in 2016. I could barely hear them out front there last night.

What did you fly? Remember?
.

True. It was a small plane. You get what you pay for. There was a duck behind us. The pilot put his hand out the window and said "Go around!".

Bonjour mes freres, a Paris.

Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt....of elderberries.

A bientot.

That's better. Ni!

I do like mojitos. That would be my go to mixed drink. But, I do like the flavor of bourbon and tequila without the added mixers, as long as it's the good stuff. I didn't know if there was a rum equivalent.

Whelp. Guess that's all I'm sleeping today. Hopefully I'll sleep half decently tonight. I hate midnight shifts.

The kid is back from the Dry Tortugas. Took advantage of the sunshine and met her in Key Largo. Went to one of my favorite breakfast places and had the Eggs Benedict, looks like I am feeling better.

On the other hand, today is Friday and just 10 days until WDW for the Kaleidofam!

In single digits now. Hope you have a great trip.

The joys and sorrows of young "love." Good luck with the knee.

Agree on all counts. They way overhyped Abracadabra.

Is there someone else in Paris we could talk to?

Non.

And we’ve already got one. Eeeets very nice.

A classic.

Happy Saturday. A nice day at the pool, Mass, groceries, and back for Garden Grove. Their seafood buffet not only includes crab legs (way better than Cape May), mussels, seafood paella, clam chowder, carving steak, salmon, desserts, salad, etc, but each person gets 1/2 lobster - 1/2 tail, stuffed middle, and 1 claw. Made my day. Lobster is my favorite. Heading to AK tomorrow.

Non.

All you need now is to demand a shrubbery.

Thanks. She's been fairly miserable thus far.

So you knew my family. Accurate depiction.

They don't sound fun. Get some rest.

Sounds awesome. Say hello to that psycho for me. Hope she's having a blast.
