DS had his first lesson in rewards for saving and making money, he wanted a Nintendo Switch (don't ask) so we went round toys that he had grown out of from Xmas and Birthdays past, he took photos with me and we stuck them on ebay. He sold his last bit that took him over to the top, so he came out of the game shop like a boss with his new console in his hand. He also got bumped up a grade in his tennis, and he got "Pupil of the week" so all in all, he's had a good one. I might stick his hand in warm water when he's asleep so he wets himself and bring him down a peg or two. You have to keep them on their toes.

Volleyball season has come to an end with a loss in the semi finals. You know what that means....first basketball ball tournament of the summer season in two weeks.

Well, looks like Maleficent tried to have an impromptu marshmallow roast at Magic Kingdom yesterday. Guess I won't be seeing the dragon float in the parade this summer. Looks like it will take a while to fix that, if they have it back at all. My guess is they will, but likely with a simple smoke effect. I don't think they let themselves get burned twice.

I saw it last year while sitting aboard the train. It was cool.

Happy Mother's Day to all the DisMoms out there. DW ran her first 10k race this morning and brought home her best 10k time ever, super proud of her.

Fortunately our Mother’s Day was out of the way in March, so I’m watching the last day of the EPL with no guilt feelings whatsoever.

Got the letter on Friday that DS was accepted into the Interior Architecture program so that was a big relief for him - seems like too much pressure on these kids with having to compete for limited spots in these majors but what do I know. Hope all are enjoying the special day and wish your better halves a Happy Mother’s Day.

Hey look, it's Monday again. How did that happen?

First league game last night for our soccer team and we came away with a 2-1 win over the team I was with last year. Of course one of our new guys gets hurt early on so we got to play with 3 fullbacks for most of the game and I am paying for that this morning.

The flood waters are slowly receding down river, here it is full clean-up mode. It is surprising the amount of stuff that comes down the river during a flood.

So much for all that rain we were supposed to get over the weekend! Everyone made it seem like central OH was expecting a legendary storm that would come in on Friday and rage for about 10 days... but so far, not a drop. Made for a pretty darn nice Mothers Day weekend.

Bravo for acceptance letters, ending seasons well battled and the outlook for new challenges and horizons.

Hey, guys. Just checking in. I didn't go back very far on the old posts, but far enough to know that I should say Happy birthday, Rob!

Crappy weekend for me. Managed to break my lawn mower, my father's power washer, and get a flat tire on my car all in one day. Yay!

And I saw that Whispering Canyon Cafe is no longer doing the shenanigans with guests, apparently. We were going to eat there on our first night of our trip this summer, because I thought my 4-year-old would have fun with it. But without the fun, the food isn't good enough to warrant a special trip. So I guess we'll be changing our plans. Hate to see the fun stuff go.

I got the easy way out. DW bought herself a couple pairs of shoes last week. The cut me off at the pass when she expected my complaints on spending, she asked if that could be her Mother's Day gift. So the money got spent anyway, but didn't have to do anything. It was enough of a win for me.
