DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
I am indeed alive. Haven't heard the official results yet. I'm assuming that if something was terribly wrong, they wouldn't have let me leave the building.

This came about because I had an episode of a-fib (atrial fibrillation) a couple of weeks ago. My heart just started racing and beating irregularly for no apparent reason. I went to the ER because I had no idea what was going on and they got me back in rhythm. Apparently it's not life-threatening. But now I have to see a cardiologist and get all sorts of tests. So far, so good.

Oh man, potentially serious stuff. Glad the test went ok.

op O the Mornin Dads! More flash flood stuff around here for the next couple of days. DS will be home tomorrow afternoon for the holiday weekend which will be nice. Have a good one and at least we are now over the half way point of the short work week.

That is crappy, hope you stay safe and dry. Enjoy the weekend with the kid.

Took the morning off to take DW to the dentist. She had a wisdom tooth pulled so I guess I am the smart one now. ;)

Very funny. Would suggest you don't say that to her though. Hope she feels better.

We behaved.

Don't believe you.

OK, that is more likely.

We've got rain, freezing rain and snow in the forecast now.
Winnipeg "spring".

No way. Do you live in the Arctic Circle?

Happy Wednesday. Started the day with a fresh Krispy Kreme. Life is good.

have my little notebook updated and ready, you can laugh about this if you want:rotfl2:, but inside it has a lot of cards i'm not showing that most don't know about :woohoo:and that can make any day great:thumbsup2

 Ron. Glad to hear you still have your notebook. I'm thinking it's like the playbook in the Waterboy? :lmao:

Enjoy Shulas. Best steak I've ever had. Wish i could join you, but wouldn't want to fight the crowds.

Glad you're alive and yes, that is scary. If only you kept in good of shape as me? :scared1:

For those who never met Mark, he's half the size of me. My DW passed out a few years back and went to the cardiologist. Turns out she has some congenital heart thing and has to take medication to manage it. She hated the tilt table Test. Prayers for you buddy.

In addition to the catheterization last April, I had a cardiac ablation in July. It was to treat supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) instead of a-fib, but can also be a treatment for a-fib. It's scary to think about, but tends to have low complications or problems. Hopefully you'll get some answers soon.

That had way too many big words in it for me. Glad you are doing well.

Lots of rain here as well. Stay safe. Glad to hear your boy is making it in. How about your daughter?

I think you should be confident enough to tattoo that phrase on your body. She will want to be surprised with such a great idea though. :scared1:

Hmmm... heart trouble or Hooters....

Guess that one's a no brainer.

::yes::::yes::

:goodvibes:goodvibes:

I've stared at the photo awhile. Who knew there were tvs in the restaurant? :lmao:

Hello gents, I'm still alive, just another busy couple weeks with work and personal life. Looks like I've missed about 10 pages of intellectual and stimulating banter that I likely won't have time to get through. I hope you are all well.

If anyone remembers, oldest DD is the female lead in her high school's production of "Footloose". They performed 4 shows over the past weekend - we went to opening and closing night. I have to say she did a fantastic job and I was a bit proud of her. This was the one where the lead actor broke his leg a week before the show in February, so they postponed until now. He was pretty amazing too, considering he performed a show about dancing while on crutches.
I don't think I can post a video directly here, but I'm tagged in a video on FB for those who are on that.
Below is a picture of us after the opening show. You'll notice the 80's appropriate hair, make up, and prom dress!

I see the 80s hair and make up, but you seem to be wearing khakis, not a prom dress???

Glad to hear she shined! Good for her!

Congrats to you and your DD!

Happy Wednesday. Started the day with a fresh Krispy Kreme. Life is good.

Better than the grilled cheese I had for lunch.

One more day and I am on Spring Break...I think I've got this.

3 more months and I get a Disney trip too.

Yes and Yes. Any plans for break?

Saw the video on FB and she did do a fantastic job. You have to give props for the kid to do the role on crutches.

To those who said I better hope my DW doesn't read here, why do you think I posted that in here!!

I saw the video earlier, she did an amazing job!

That doesn't sound like any fun whatsoever. Hope you're doing ok.

Alright that's enough you too, seriously though hoping all is taken care of you and you guys keep this stuff under control.

Thanks. I'm treating it as a one-time freak thing until I hear otherwise from the doctor.

Holy crap! Dude!

Honestly, it was a bizarre moment, but I've felt perfectly fine before and ever since. I'm guessing that since the doctor still hasn't called me the tests haven't shown any problems.

I told you stop going to Hooters!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Glad its under control now. Scary stuff.

Thanks, Paul.

They discounted the fact you are an Eagles fan, right? Are you sure it’s not a delayed reaction to the game?

:rotfl: Very possible. I still get nervous watching the replays of that game.

Hmmm... heart trouble or Hooters....

Guess that one's a no brainer.

::yes::

Thanks, Randall.

Oh man, potentially serious stuff. Glad the test went ok.

I'm taking the "no news is good news" approach.

That stress test is no fun whatsoever. I felt like I was going to fall off the treadmill by the end.

Honest to God.... I didn't notice the TV.

Well done! Saw the video on FB, looked like everyone was terrific.

Mornings Guys.

Beautiful morning here, lots of sun and warmer temps for the day. Suppose to rain all day tomorrow so that should help with the snow melt and keep me inside an away from the trees that I need to cut down. Volleyball tournament for DS on Saturday and I have to look after all the admin stuff during the day so no chores on Saturday either. Now I just need to figure out Sunday and Monday.

Enjoy the long weekend all. I think Dan is still looking for his rental car so someone will need to call it.

You still think they are going to blow it don't you?

;)

If the weather stays warm, I'd say a tee time is in order.

I think Dan is still looking for his rental car so someone will need to call it.

I just want to hear him give the Steve Martin speech to the lady behind the rental counter.

You still think they are going to blow it don't you?

;)

Can you blame me? I'd been trained on what to expect over 43 years.

For whatever reason, the trailer just didn't appeal to me. Let us know what you think.

I wasn't sure about the trailer, either. But it is Spielberg, it's getting good reviews. And I liked the book.
