DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
That's a whole lot'a work that I'd really rather not have to be doing.
Did you have to replace just a few of the joists or was there a more serious problem?

Due to moisture issues and the fact that my house was built with those new-age engineered joists (basically plywood with real wood glued on the ends) I had to sister six 2x12" treated boards in the crawl. 14 foot spans. Not a horribly difficult task, but definitely not a one person affair.

Me too...
Had a session this morning. I know it will loosen everything up in the long run but you certainly feel a bit worse for wear immediately afterward. Doing my assigned stretches today will be challenging, but it will be easier tomorrow and all of it should get easier over time.

S T R E E E E T C H. Glad to hear you are heading in the "getting better" territory. Keep on stretchin'!

Happy Thursday guys. Weekend will be here soon.

Best deal since the Dutch bought Manhattan.

I used to do crap like that but no more. These old bones can't do it anymore. Big thumbs up for taking on the project.

Can see the doc now, "I need an IPA Stat." Glad everything checked out OK.

I am sure she was yelling out of her regulator, "Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty." She was excited but it came and went so fast she just got a glimpse of it. No one was sure if it was a Bull or a Black-Tip when they got back to the boat. She was pretty sure it was a Bull. A biologist who was a friend of one of the divers confirmed she was right.

Ah... Pirate Princess... One-eyed Banger. :rotfl: Love the unmatched shoes... my DD is going through that phase now. :confused3

As for the crawl work... my bones aren't liking me much for doing it. But guess what I get to finish tomorrow?? Woohoo! more crawl work

Happy Friday Yes. Sad day also though. The realization that we won't make it to Disney this year. :(

We are planning for Next Thanksgiving though. Already have ressies. :)

Is that Violet from the incredible? Or, is she invisible next to her.

That was my first thought as well. :flower3:

Oh... and Happy Friday! :dancer::dancer:

WHOOP!!! :yay:

I hope to finish the wiring on my garage this weekend but have to replace a ceiling joist that turned first. Really just looking forward to doing work for me rather than for someone else for two days.

Just finishing up the Thanksgiving feast for our floor here at work. I'm going to need a nap this afternoon.

The choices for participation were bring a dish or donate $6 for the meats. I donated the cash since I knew that I wouldn't have time to bring something in. From this meal I have learned two things:
  1. There are some really good cooks on our floor.
  2. There are some people that should have just donated the $6...

Yay!!! :thumbsup2

Always more enjoyable to admire work done for yourself than for others that may or may not appreciate it. Don't forget to turn the switch to the O F F position first ;)

Everyone have a great weekend!
I received a call from Dr and the lab results confirm I'm still alive. :lmao:
Total cholesterol was 149. Apparently, I am really healthy under all the fat and injuries. :lmao:
Good to hear you received the "confirmation"

Part of me wants to know what it was that helped you come to this conclusion. But then again, it is probably best to just be in the dark.

But I can't help but wonder... what happens if everyone just decides to bring $6? Do you just eat a lot of meat? Because that sounds pretty awesome too.

I remember working in one of those places with the potlucks. I learned quickly to ask who made what so that I could skip some.

That is some good advice.

Unless you're working in an office with only guys, that will never happen. There are some women that are great cooks, and would spend $15 on their potluck dish as opposed to paying $6. And, there are some who can't cook and will insist on doing so anyway. Me, I'll just bring the beer

Happy weekend to be. Only two more weeks of the college football regular season. Went by way too fast. Florida has a cupcake this weekend until the hated Noles come to town.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I didn't think about that until Norm mentioned it. It does fit. Told her your comparison Norm and she got a chuckle out of it.

You have my sympathy Don, may you survive in one piece. Mismatched shoes were done with highlighters. Oh for the good old days.

Good luck crawling around.

Cool. Sorry about this year but happy planning for next year.

Funny. True, but still funny.

Smart move.

Happy Saturday. It is a cold, rainy day here. Oldest dd went on her first out of town HS team swim meet, even riding the team bus. She was really excited. So far, mixed results though. She did win her heat in 100 free, 3rd team relay, and slower in other events.

I didn't think about that until Norm mentioned it. It does fit. Told her your comparison Norm and she got a chuckle out of it.
.

I'm just glad there aren't many old pictures of all me with my fashion sense. :lmao:

Holy Shirt! A two win FAU team takes Florida to overtime. Should have lost the game but they ended up making the plays at the end. Hope none of you watched it because it was one ugly game. Heaven help us against the Noles and Bama.

I am liking my Disney standings right now at a 13/55, that's 13 days till from today I will be there and 55 days from today I will return to WDW:dancer::dancer::dancer: (Dancing Feds In Order :cool2:) Also it is my week when I am there in The Golden Oaks lottery pool:thumbsup2 Now does anyone know of any location on WDW property or at Orlando airport that sells lottery tickets:confused3 If I can capture Disney Magic and get a ticket on it's home turf we might have a better chance:confused3:goodvibes.

Here is a great Dis Wife Christmas Gift idea, give her 200-300 in Dis Gift Cards to buy a pocketbook on Main Street in MK, I did this last year and it was a GREAT experience for her she enjoyed picking out her own pocketbook at Disney knowing it is real and having so many to choose from, it went over so well that for Mother's Day I gave her a gift card to get a matching wallet:banana: it is also what she is getting this year:thumbsup2 since it went over so well:cool1:

Hi Ron, FYI Dooney Burkes pocketbooks are 10% off at the Disney store today...

Happy Sunday. It continues to be cold here, but thankfully, the rain as stopped. I'm ready for summer.

I guess that cupcake was difficult to swallow. I don't think Alabama or Notre Dame should have been in top 4 as undefeated teams should go there first. If playoff bracket went to 8 teams, then a 1 loss team could have been included.

I don't think they are Hess gas stations anymore, but there is that one outside the Boardwalk resort. I'm not sure if they sell lotto tickets though. Good luck and pixiedust:

Storm warning for here tomorrow, calling for 6 to 8 inches of snow.
