DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
If it's so nice, then why don't you go outside and take naked pictures in the snow.
I just might do that tonight.... :scratchin

Laugh all you want but it is freekin cold down here, lows are expected in the 30's tonight. It sucks when the only thing in the closet are shorts. I could walk around in a suit however. CLOSE the DAMN door you northeners.
It is really hard to feel bad for you. I hope you stayed warm.

:lmao:

It means that I am on the opposite coast from where I usually can be found. In a place where they haven't been getting the cold and snow that the East coast has been getting.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, got it! Well, enjoy the warmth!

Nice! I can start booking at midnight for our August trip. I tried calling yesterday, but was unable to get the CM to book anything. Was told I could not do it until tomorrow. Going to try for:

BOG
Ohana breakfast
Via Napoli
Biergarten - Wanted to try as never done.
California Grill - DW choice

We'll see what else makes sense. Need to plan out where we will be on what days.
Good list! I love me some 'Ohana breakfast. Mickey waffles, bacon, and the JUICE!

Enjoyed the burning ball of light in the sky, but it never got above freezing here. Sun's out again today so that's a positive. By tomorrow we will have set another record this year. Most consecutive days under 32 degrees. Yah us!:sad2::sad2: Stay warm. Looks like rain for you this weekend.
We didn't get above freezing either... but we were close to it. It felt warm with the sun.
:rotfl2::rotfl2: Well then we'll have to make it unsuck. (yes, I said unstuck)
:rotfl:

Quick question: Those planning to head to DDCC4, where are you staying? Trying to figure out where to book.
Probably booking SSR just to secure a place then going to try for OKW so I can use less points.

Remind me again when you will be traveling in August? I think we already covered this and our times don't cross. Notice that every time I respond to you the font shrinks. Not sure what that means, but it can't be good. That's the same costs I saw yesterday on flights from Manchester, NH. Congrats!
Our dates are 8/12-8/20... I think we just miss each other right?

28 degrees is considered a heat wave at this point. 3 degrees this morning according to the thermometer. Wind chills in the negatives again.
WE were in the minuses last night. It was 0.2 when I rolled out of bed at 8:15am

We are gonna get snow to sleet to freezing rain.... followed by sub freezing temps. It is sure to be a mess when everything re-freezes.

First, no naked pictures please. You can send those directly to Norm.
Don't worry, I save those for Facebook

Morning everyone, still stupid cold out there, kids got a kick out of my beard frosting up this morning. Just received word their skating session this afternoon was cancelled due to the cold, but other then that, things go on, cold or not. They commented on the morning news that Orlando was down to around +1 C this morning, so it feels like there is no escape. :rotfl2:

Good list Jim, we are waiting till Thursday to start our ADRs,
Wow, who knew Canadians canceled anything due to cold. They must be getting soft up there.

I know they've been cancelling recesses etc and keeping them inside the school, so this isn't too surprising. They'd have to walk from the school to the arena, and it might be too much for the primary students. More likely they don't want any parents screaming and yelling.

Growing up, I have never seen temps like this, aside from one February when I was up near the Arctic Circle, that was freaky then, now its almost the norm here? :faint:

Good list Jim, we are waiting till Thursday to start our ADRs,

My brother and SIL left this morning for WDW. Driving from NH. Hopefully it warms up by the time they get there. I'll let you know over the weekend if I get the BOG ressie. Planning to be up at midnight, wish me luck.

Really enjoyed Cali Grill, but haven't been since the refurb a couple years ago. They have some great sushi as well as steaks. I'm not a fan of Biergarten because I don't like sitting at picnic tables with no table back to lean into.

Yup, still closed. We are supposed to get another storm around 3 today. As for the bourbon, I regretfully gave up alcohol for Lent. Then, we get 10 inches of snow, and I'm trapped in the house with the kids all week. I haven't been feeling all to spiritually happy (pun intentional).

Well, I hope you didn't pick this week to give up sniffing glue.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Stay safe.

We arrive on the 20th, probably get to WDW around 11AMish. Flight gets in between 9 and 10AM. I'll wave to you when on the way by.

I don't have DVC and will be coming by myself it appears. Will try to book the same flight(s) as Paul since we are most likely flying out from the same airport. Maybe I'll try one of the PO resorts.

Similar weather here, except now they aren't sure the freezing rain/rain line will make it up to us. Looking at another 6-10 inches I guess. We'll just keep piling it higher. If we do get rain, it will be like a skating rink around here. Some of the roads still have packed snow on them.

Well, depending on if you head to a park there is a small chance we cold stop and say hi. Our flight home isn't till 6:20pm.

PO is right next door to OKW. I'm sure you can find a roommate. Seems like more people on on Facebook now a days. You might be able to find someone there or you can always try to rent points.

The noon news made it seem they are predicting it will stay snow longer here too before changing over. They upped us to 4-8. I guess we will see soon enough

Finally... they are expecting cold temps and snow on Sunday evening and Monday here. We finally get some winter-like weather! The bad news is that my new job is a long commute - so I may have to work from home Monday. Wait... maybe that's NOT bad news. :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Back from West Lafayette and Vincennes to OH. Hoping to get back to KY on Sunday weather permitting so that they can cut me open Thursday. Took 3 days of vacation for this excursion and I didn't need to because the office was closed all week from last weekends storm.:headache:

Is it 2016 yet? The last few years have left something to be desired.

Things are getting back to normal around here temp wise. The grass just got mowed so the lawn is nice and pretty for Norm's caravan

Jim, to answer your question on DDCC 4, we will be at Boardwalk.

Hang in there Shawn. Good luck on Thursday and keep us posted.

Hey Darcy! Saw your posts on FB. Looks like your having a good time. Safe travels.

First week was pretty good but long. I was out and headed for the ski hill everyday since last Saturday at 6 am and returned to the Athletes' Village around 5 pm. Then a couple of hours in the office and a daily debrief at the hotel to finish the day. Today we were up at 4 am to get the week 1 teams on the plane and off for home. Today is rest day until week 2 teams arrive around 10 tonight. Hopefully this week will be a little less hectic but just as fun.

I am having a hard time adjusting to the Pacific Time Zone thing, their is an NHL game on this morning. :rotfl:

Afternoon gents. Still can't get out of our street here as the rain is just making things worse on our bobsled track street and driveway. Temps drop below freezing overnight and it will be the worse it's been all week - what a mess.

Without alcohol, i seem to be more motivated to accomplish more household tasks. I shoveled all the water/ice sludge off the driveway this AM. I also had a pond at the end of my driveway. Apparently, some idiot shoveled my driveway off and threw all the snow on the storm drain at the end of my driveway. So I shoveled that pile of water/ice sludge, and surprisingly, the pond went away. Then, as if I wasn't tired enough, I cleaned the upstairs tv/ computer/ play room with the dds. I am tired. Way too much work.

I hear cocaine is nice. I might try it. :crazy2:

Yes, our campus was closed all week. Granted, it was a day-by-day closure up until Wednesday, then on Thursday they cancelled the rest of the week. After this thaw, freezing rain, and re-freeze, it may even be worse next week. Stay safe out there.

Yes, and get those camper hookups ready.

We decided to stay in OH another day and hope the roads clear up a little today. We have to head back to KY tomorrow.

Are you collecting the down payments for CJ's campground? I'm ready to move down.

That's the greatest part about mooching - no down payments. I figured that closing my robe while I empty the chemical toilet into CJ's storm drain would be payment enough.
