DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hello All, Been a few days in hibernation digging out from yet another storm dropping 2 more feet of snow. If anyone is looking for the ice that has left the Arctic Shelf, it's on my roof.:rolleyes1 It was raining in my kitchen yesterday. A pretty good trick since there was no water on the second floor and it's under 32 degrees. I have now turned my yard into a maze similar to my sons ant farm when he was a kid. I hope God is enjoying the show as I slowly work my way through day after day.

Prayers to those in need, congrats where deserved and welcome to any new Dads I may have missed.

Hey CJ, I bet it's sunny and 75 degrees, huh.:beach: Well, we won the Superbowl so there.:P Seriously, do you still have room on the front lawn. I may start driving tonight. They are already canceling Thursday night flights at Logan for the next storm. After that they are "watching" a storm for Sunday. :sad2::sad2:

Come on, man! Not only do the stupid Patriots have to win the Super Bowl, but you're hogging all the snow too??? Come on, share the wealth! We haven't even been able to do any sledding this year. Not cool!

Seriously though, good luck getting through it. You guys just keep getting pounded. One of these storms is bound to miss you eventually.

Quote is not working so I will summarize. Norm, your welcome to come and sleep in the basement. The bourbon will make a nice addition to the bar. CJ, plan to do the 5K even if we walk it. If you know when sign ups are, let me know and I'll register to make sure I get in as after this winter, I deserve it!

Bud - Yes, we are safe. Not happy and buried under 6-7 feet of snow, but safe. Of course there's little chance you'll see the Bruins in the finals this year. Was at the Canadiens game on Sunday and watched them kick our butts for the 4th time this season. Not sure what management was thinking, but we didn't replace the players they let go in the offseason and it's REALLY obvious. Good luck with the Hawks.

Do you have a pick up? I've got plenty in the yard, fell free to come and get it. We have resorted to dumping it in the ocean now. It's been hard to sled here as well. AS soon as you sit on the sled, you drop 4 feet into powder.:joker: I actually y had to snow blow a sledding track for the kids. I'm thinking of zig zagging next time down the hill to make a bobsled rack. May as well make the most of it. Here's to hoping the next storms stay south and give you some winter fun. I'm guessing school will be out before the snow melts away at this rate.

Thinking of the guys in the northeast with continuation of snow. To Jim and Rob and any Canada Dads trust you are all safe and positive thoughts for your guys.

Appreciated. It's really not that bad here. The snow on the weekend wasn't as bad as anticipated, at least in our little pocket by the lake. I know my brother west of me got hammered good. Just cold and getting slushy out there. I think the northeast dads get it far worse. My area of Ontario isn't in the snow belts.

Hope they are wrong about Thursday... we might get smacked again.

Always great to see!

Hey Brent. Hope you guys are doing well. Any news on that August trip? We are getting close to ADR time, was thinking if you may go and the dates will line up, we should have at least one set up together. We are flexible.

I forgot to mention. I use de-icer to keep the snow blower from freezing up. Ran out yesterday, but had some in the car. Asked DW to throw it to me since we were separated by a 10 foot snow wall. The can hit me right between the eyes and almost knocked me unconscious. Thought if anyone would get a chuckle out of that it may be you (other than CJ of course, he's probably looking for video of it on YouTube).

Still room but it is going to get cold this weekend. OK, relatively cold. It is supposed to get into the forties Saturday and Sunday. The British invaders will be underwater in Key Largo but I will probably decline. Sorry to hear about the open air kitchen, hope it is resolved.

We shall see. Legs are better but not good enough for a 5K as of yet. Going to work on it this year. Bring the kids, the girls can run it together if I don't do it.

Hope they are wrong about Thursday... we might get smacked again.

Stay safe and if it gets too bad, come on down.

Oh to be there to witness it first hand. Stay safe Bubba.

I know of a few already saying they are going.
Tim, Paul, Chris ,Scott, Aaron, Cj, Jay, Joe, Randall, Adam, Ryan,Justin, and myself
So I would say yes it is setting up to be a big one!!

Looks like you Sir need to update your ticker.....DDCCII is long gone!

Actually I'm not thinking about Marathon weekend - I've already thought about it and I'M GOING! Whether I'll be tasked to be your ADR b*tch again is yet to be determined. ;-)

Unfortunately, you did such a stellar job with the ADRs it seems we cannot have the next DDCC be a success unless you do it. The price of greatness.

As of right now it's on again with an arrival on the 25th. That would likely be a no park day and the 26th a MK if I recall the latest revisal. The only thing in our way now is $$, the dollar has been dropping rather alarmingly. Could curb a lot of spending. I set up a plan to at least get my ADRs in place, then book later in case a deal pops up.

Yup that's funny right there I don't care who you are :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Once at a Walgreens looking at Christmas stuff with Jo and her dad they were looking at these things that make a noise when you smack them against something hard. I joked her dad would likely throw it at my head. All Jo heard was "throw it at my head.." And did so. Hard. :headache: She said it was an accident. Sure. An "accident".

Well with 'Ohana pretty much set in stone on Saturday night, Kona Breakfast on Sunday becoming our wrap up meal, and the longing for Biergarten's Big Litre's of beers on Thursday's EPCOT day....it pretty much leaves Friday's meal as the only variable.

And I think those that attended the Via Napoli dinner this year would say that it was a great choice.....we'll see about next year.

I agree, Scott if you need help, I'm sure the Unofficial DISDad Jodi will be happy to help.

Well if as many DisDads show that are talking about going, we may need your services to make duplicate ADRs for the same time so we have enough room for everyone. That'd be a great problem to have! :thumbsup2

Need to think on places that Cj can go with Crash, I hate that they don't join us at Ohana. Of course she can drink now...

I agree, I wish they could join us. But I think we might have a revolt on our hands if we didn't have the annual shrimp wall challenge during the DDCC!
