DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hey guys, I've been lurking in the DIS boards for a while and finally decided that it was time for me to make some sort of contribution. Well, last night I stumbled on DIS Dads and I would love to join! I've read the rules and qualifications, and I think I qualify!! I want in! If you'll have me...

My name is Bill and I live in beautiful Flint, Michigan (well, outside of Flint). We're planning our first family trip to WDW in May and will be staying at CBR. My wife and I finally decided that our youngest daughter (4) was finally ready for the trip, so my DS (7) and DDs (6 and 4) will be making the trip with us.

Look out WDW, we're coming for you on Memorial Day!

:welcome: WELCOME TO THE DISDAD'S CLUB BILL! :welcome:

Top O the Morning Dads! On the road catching up on work and other stuff before first meetings of the day. Have a good one.

Hello All, Been a few days in hibernation digging out from yet another storm dropping 2 more feet of snow. If anyone is looking for the ice that has left the Arctic Shelf, it's on my roof.:rolleyes1 It was raining in my kitchen yesterday. A pretty good trick since there was no water on the second floor and it's under 32 degrees. I have now turned my yard into a maze similar to my sons ant farm when he was a kid. I hope God is enjoying the show as I slowly work my way through day after day.

Prayers to those in need, congrats where deserved and welcome to any new Dads I may have missed.
Sorry about all that snow and hoping all up there stay safe. Saw your post on the Bruins and the Cap just hit them. Hawks are basically at the Cap now and will be in a bi Cap crunch next season and facing same headaches as the Bruins.

B\c we are an astute bunch here, I'm sure that many of you noticed the number next to my pirate emoticon increased by one very recently. This past Sunday I turned 40. I don;t consider it a big deal but the DW threw a surprise party for me. I was thinking that I should try and leverage this milestone into something Disney-related. I just haven't figured out what it should be.
I have a what is considered by most to be a milestone bday next week - Big 50. I parlayed that into this coming weekend's father son trip to Chicago and a 7 night on the Fantasy in July to celebrate my 50th and DS hitting 18. For 40 that's at least a 10 day trip

Off today, taking it kind of easy, think I pulled a muscle in the ribs, hurting good.

Curent plan for us is the 20th-27th. What were you thinking on the 25th and 26th? I'll get to book a few days ahead of you. If we can find a common place, I can try to book for 8. Let me know what you guys may want to do.

A look at the itinerary so far is arrival at some point on the 25th, and a trip to DTD for dinner. 23-24 are travel down days. A lot is going to depend on traffic and how far DW can drive per day. 26th is MK, 27th is Epcot. No ADRs are set yet. Any thoughts on anywhere you want to try? I know we want to hit Biergarten this year. I might half-handedly try for BOG, but not prioritizing it this trip.

Just in case anyone wanted to know..........It's snowing again.:scared: :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2: DD had a hoop game last night. Another victory and they are now at 10-3 on the season. DD played well, limited scoring as she goes to pad the assist stats. Too bad no one can hit an open lay up. Two more game this weekend. DS finishes up his freshman season with games tomorrow and Friday. His team is undefeated so far with the two toughest teams left. Already beat them earlier this season, but they are strong teams. In practice, they beat the JV team yesterday. JV coach was not happy and made them stay late after practice to run sprints.

Have a good Wednesday!

Supposed to snow this afternoon, but a couple of cms at best. I'm home, so snow away

DW says you have to get here on your own.

No deal. I thought this was all inclusive trip. :lmao:

Happy early birthday.

When should we start reserving our weeks in the official DDC clubhouse in Golden Oak?

Go ahead and drive on down there now. Tell em Randall sent you,and they'll take care of everything.

I am so tried of waking up to the alarm! I need to win Powerball tonight.

Yes. Everyone needs to get their Powerball numbers for tonight. $500 million!

I am making my vow here, now: if I win, I will buy a house in Golden Oak that will be first come, first serve free stays for any DisDads (when it is not being used by my family.)

Yet another miserable winter day here. That's like 4 days in a row now. Freakin' sunny and 70-ish degrees. What kind of freakin' winter is this?! I want some cold temps and I want some freakin' SNOW!!!

Happy early 50th! Take it from your slightly elder, get yourself scheduled for the Happy 50th colonoscopy.

Welcome to the club! If you're looking to make a contribution including well thought out and thought provoking discussions ... um, you're in the wrong place. But if you want to contribute to random Disney talk and fart jokes, you'll fit right in!

Oh, I can do fart jokes! If you haven't already, download the Atomic Fart app for your smartphone and thank me in an hour when you're done laughing.

Welcome to the Club! I didn't realize Flint was beautiful. ;)

We use the term "beautiful" very loosely. Pretty much just around the Farmer's Market.

Welcome!! Love the airport in Flint.

It's a bright spot!

YES! Now, I just mail a bunch of Dole Whips to you guys to get my membership card, right?

Somebody slap this man! ;-)

Way to rub it in John.

What's that sound I'm hearing???? Oh snap - why that's the weather alert for the wind chill warning that just went into effect. :cold:

It's snowing again but e are only expecting a couple inches.

Now Saturday into Sunday is another story. Calling for up to a foot here but Boston is gonna get slammed again. Then there is another on tap for Tuesday.

Juliana asked me if there was going to be snow on the ground for her birthday (3/11). I bust out laughing.

I'm hoping that it will all be gone by the end of this month. Could happen, right?

And every single storm seems to just miss our area, so we get 36 degrees and rain. My kids want a snow day so badly they're thinking of picketing the Weather Channel studios.

Probably would need a serious heatwave. We have about 30 inches on the ground with 4-5ft plies on the side of the road from where they plowed.

Time to take a road trip up north!

Another cold weather alert. I'm sure someone will grind this back up when we are swealtering in August at WDW.
