yep. they take them into a victorian classroom, have a normal school day except they use slate and chalk, and blackboards. they can only have a dry roll, apple and water for lunch. the full 9 yards. the boy loved it.
They got a whole apple? Living pretty high up on the Dickensian hog there.
Sounds like a really interesting history lesson. I like it.
Happy Tuesday. My surgery is scheduled for August 1. That avoids enough scheduling entanglements and gives me the three weeks off if I need them to recover. However, I imagine I'll be back to the office on light duty, which is my whole job.
Well at least it's scheduled so you know what to expect.
My overlords wrote me out for six weeks for my spine procedure, but I ended up being required to work from home nearly half of those recovery days.
Typical...
Stay at a deluxe resort, walk or monorail to some theme parks, and limit to just a few bus rides.
Ahhh, the life of CJ... Errr... I mean Norm.
Yeah, that's it...
The life of Norm
I have the summer off. Due back to work Sept 12th. ...but, now I need my right hip replaced. Not sure how'll I work that out.
If it's not one joint, it's another...
(so to speak)
What say you heal up form this one first
And be quick about it.
Tougher choice was skipping her college roommate's wedding late September.
Now that would be a difficult choice.
Congrats to both of the gals, but unfortunate timing to be sure.
I see your point. The only problem for me is MK...parking, then tram, then monorail or boat. The waits for that tend to be worse than the bus to MK.
I like the submersive nature of Disney and part of that is transportation at Disney...being able to park the car and let someone else deal with the idiots. I like being able to check in and not have to do anything except vacation. On the other hand, I've had some really bad bus waits, so driving this next time might be an option.
Also valid points, and I agree flatly that it's not everyone's best option.
Also agree that it works best (time wise) at places other than the TTC.
But, here's my reasoning on that (and again, it's what works for me)...
The TTC process does take time, but for us it's mostly about getting back to the resort .
After a long day on your feet at the MK, standing stationary in a line that is at least four of five buses deep and then standing stationary on that over-packed bus is physically more painful than it is if I can keep moving and sit down a few times on the way. There are generally much shorter lines for the ferry/monorail and trams (and they all carry larger loads then a single bus), so less time just standing in one spot there. I also "stand" a better better chance of getting a seat while were on those so more time to rest the aching joints. But I also kind'a see them as attractions unto themselves and from my first visit back in early 72 they were an integral part of the experience. That also makes me more tolerant of the time factor. going in I'm less patient of course ('cause everyone want's to get to the Magic), but we're usually out front waiting for rope drop even when traveling via the TTC so it's not that much of a consideration.
Didn't you have a new AC replacement as well? I'm doing that now for one of my units, so a lot of whooshing here as well. I've never been to NOLA and ironically, when I was TDY at Keesler AFB (Biloxi, MS) for training a few times, it was only about an hour away.
Yes, yes I did.
That was a whole lot of whooshing all at one crack too.
I'd never been to NoLa either and it was on DW's bucket list so it was time to get it done.
We really enjoyed the outing (and the other stops along the road in and back)
Don't know that I'd live down there, but I'd certainly go back for a visit.
(We also really enjoyed driving US-90 through MS; consider that one of the highlight of the road trip)
Without even really trying I think I have planned out my son's 13th B-day at WDW as a Great day. I have a ADR as he requested for lunch at Teppen Edo plus Fps for his 3 favorite rides at Epcot before that they are TT, Living With The Land & Figment

, we will be back at the resort by 4pm. But what he does not know is that we are also going that night 7-11 to do one of the 16 Glo nights at Typhoon Lagoon

.

.
Now that sound's like a great day to be had.
You done good on the plan, there.
Good Morning Dads, I worked up a new DISDad song, I hope you like it.
DISDad Man
Coming to you on a disney road
Good fun, I got a train load
And when you get it, you got imagination
Don't worry, 'cause I'm coming
I'm a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man (come on!)
I'm a DISDad Man
And that ain't all
Got what I got the Fastpass way
And I make it better, each and every day
So buddy, said don't you fret
'Cause you ain't seen nothing yet
I'm a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man, oh
I was brought up on Main street, yes sir
I learned how to ADR before I could eat
I was educated at Epcot
When I start Dole Whipping, oh I can't stop
I'm a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man (yeah!)
I'm a DISDad Man
Just grab the Bacon and I'll pull you in
Give you fun and be your disfriend
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (yeah!)
I'm talking about a DISDad Man
I'm a DISDad Man
(And you're a) DISDad Man
DISDad Man (oh lord)
DISDad Man
(I'm a) DISDad Man
(And you're a) DISDad Man
(And you're a) DISDad Man
I believe Isaac Hayes would be pleased with the update to his lyric.
Now if we could just get Sam and Dave to record it.
