DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Bracket blew up big time yesterday. Haven't checked but I am sure I am last in the pool. The worst was Seton Hall bowing out in the first round. Knew they were in trouble when the star guard was on the bench sucking down oxygen early in the first half. The Pirate Princess was out with friends and the loss put a damper on the evening.

Hey Nemie! I've got Miami out in the round of 16, sorry. My brackets were submitted after the first pass as usual. You realize someone who has absolutely no knowledge of college basketball always wins anyway. Hope things are well. Any plans to travel North this year? Still trying to get down to good ole FL at some point. Maybe the Celtics will play the Heat in the playoffs and give me a reason.

I don't get on here as often as I would like to make sure your day is full of sarcasm, wit and old man jokes.

Not a fan of the U in anything so I didn't have it past the 16. Come on down anytime, the weather is beautiful. Will be in S. Orange, NJ for graduation ceremonies in May. We will spend a day or two in NYC before a meandering trip back home. That is about the only trip planned for this year.

And bring it! I can take it and even get off a shot or two of my own.

The boy and I are headed to Providence tomorrow to see the Duke/Yale game. Was hoping for Baylor, but that was my first bracket mistake.

That is cool. Only went to one NCAA game when Florida traveled to Miami for a regional. Hopefully it is a good game and go Bulldogs.

Afternoon Dads! Been hectic, typically work day before taking time off for mine and DS's Blackhawks / Chi Town trip. Today was our 120 day window for DCL trip and got all the excursions, special dining resies, etc we wanted.

As of this writing I am 16/18 in the pool but have some upsets picked today so as quick as lady luck givith she can take away. Have a good weekend with the hoops and families and GO HAWKS!
Nothing icy predicted here but it will get nasty so I'm taking this afternoon off work so I can go outside and work.
Poor use of a pretty day, I know, but I'm going to be laid up for a while starting Monday so I need to get some stuff done before it gets out of hand.

Some interesting ball games yesterday, to be sure.
Went 15 and 1 in the brackets (thought about taking Yale... didn't do it), so I'll not be complaining much.
Of course that's no indication of how it will shake out today. I could easily miss all 16.
All the best on your procedure - will be thinking of you. Are you in the yahoo Dis Dad pool? Don't recognize anyo names that could be you.

:furious:

So, coach calls DW to have dd as alternate. I get that part, as it is a female coach calling a mom. What I don't understand is arriving 2.5 hours early. I just figured, especially since we were also gracious enough to rearrange our entire schedule, the female coach would have been courteous enough to email, call, text, smoke signal, or pigeon a message that included arrival time and specific parking lot.

Don't get me wrong. The male coach and his team are here as the schedule the female coach sent (& is posted). Apparently, she decided a new strategy to just have the team warm up later as opposed to the session warm-up time. I guess she just failed to relate that message to me.

I guess all women just think we are supposed to read their minds.

:furious:

I usually lose any of those discussions as well. That's why the first summer vacation is on the Cape this year. Keep me updated. I think I can swing a shorter visit, even if it's just Alexandra and I.
.

I like the VBR, and it is a terrific beach resort. I just like wdw better. Fall Break over Columbus Day weekend has just been really busy. So, Spring Break (non-Easter time) should be more enjoyable. If you haven't been to Vero Beach and want to kill 2 hours driving, then let me know.

This this won't last for long - thought I would puff the chest out for at least a minute or two. MSU going down, WT?

It is but like you, I prefer WDW. Would rather be poolside to laying out on a beach.

Thanks for not posting enough to see the stragglers which includes me at the bottom. MSU REALLY? That was my pick for Nat. Champ so I am left to just enjoying the tourney. From now on rooting for any Big East team and whoever is the underdog. Worst bracket ever.

Happy Friday to those who have happy Fridays, I guess.
This week I'm calling it "The first day of my work week except I got called in to work Wednesday night but since that shift is actually Thursday morning this makes it my second day of the work week."

Take care of yourself, dude.

What I don't understand is arriving 2.5 hours early.

Oh, I'm familiar with this.
Me: "What time do we need to be there?"
DD: "Three o'clock!"

Only to find out the event is at six and the teacher wanted her there two hours early for Gawd knows what reason and DD panicked that we'd be late so tacked on an extra hour "just to be safe".

I just figured, especially since we were also gracious enough to rearrange our entire schedule, the female coach would have been courteous enough to email, call, text, smoke signal, or pigeon a message that included arrival time and specific parking lot.

:sad2:

Prayers for a successful procedure and a speedy recovery.

Thanks Guys.
We’re gonn’a see if we can solve the base problem Monday morning.
I’ll be AWOL for a couple of days but I’ll holler back when I can.

Are you in the yahoo Dis Dad pool? Don't recognize anyo names that could be you.
No… :headache:
Meant to, but I didn’t go to join in until late Wednesday night
and then Yahoo Wanted me to set up a user account
and then I got frustrated by the whole thing
and then…
and then…
well you get the idea.
I’ll just be following along in absentia.

I guess all women just think we are supposed to read their minds.
Generally, yes.
Jokes on them…
We can’t do it.

MSU REALLY?
Seriously… Didn’t see that one.
Didn’t hurt me as bad as some but it sure didn’t help.
19-5 at the moment; we’ll see how these last eight games shake out.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Heading up to Chicago in a bit with DS for our Hawks trip. Spring Break ya go where it's warm right, noooooo, we're heading to high of 40 low of 32? Have enjoyed the tourney so far. My 28-4 game record in the pool will come crashing down I'm sure as my Midwest bracket is toast as I had MSU and Purdue in region final - that's what I get for trusting Big10 hoops.
Have a good weekend guys, Norm - try to not hurt any coaches and again, Rob - all the best for successful procedure and fast recovery.

Happy Saturday morning. I am glad to be back home, even if the temp is in the 40s with a high of 50 today.

Swim meet is over and dd was able to experience a state finals. I hope this motivates her to make the cut herself. The team did as bad as i expected, taking the slower alternate time, 3 hour drive time, and 2 hour wait time. That warm up late strategy didn't work out so well. Still, she enjoyed it, which I guess that is what I is all about.

I have three disdad fantasy sports victories, however, you can't see my signature anymore on the new boards to brag. So yeah, brag away when you have a chance.

Thanks Guys.

Must have missed you original post. Prayers all goes well.

Happy weekend guys. Since my bracket was destroyed, I am going to just enjoy the games today at Buffalo Wild Wings. Here come the underdogs, St. Joes for the NC.

I may be 27th in the pool, but I have more possible points left then the rest of you! at least for the moment. That is about as good as my bragging will get. Puke is still in unfortunately and SU is still on track to win it all! UK is out which doesn't bother me as any money they bring in never makes it to my side of the castle. i was pulling for the Bonnies in the NIT but that didn't go well. Guess the Friars must have been slacking on their prayers for the men. The Bonnies women's team is doing well. I actually have more teams in the women's NCAA tournament that I am interested in. One of the advantages of being a mercenary ... I have teams in at least 7 conferences that I can claim a connection to.

10.5 hour work day today but a good meeting with attendance from 3 states so we must be doing something right. I've had too much sugar though so it will be a long night before I get to sleep.

With UK losing, the entire state is in mourning tonite. Worse yet, my bracket is busted. At least I don't have to worry about checking it anymore. :lmao:

Well, I still enjoyed them even before the bracket bust. Correction, I enjoy the game until the last 5 minutes when basketball games become a series of timeouts and free throw shooting.

Makes for a long day. I had travel basketball tournament for youngest dd today and tomorrow. I'm washing her jerseys now and then going to bed.

I somehow picked a few upsets. I missed a ton on my bracket as well, but seem to be in the upper middle of the pack. :)

Kentucky and Utah both losing may have done me in.

Have fun at the tournament, volleyball for us today. It is a varsity tournament but DS's JV team is entered, wondering if he'll play today at all.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Had Chicago deep dish pizza after getting in last night at a place that's been serving since 1943 - good stuff. Got the Hawks and Minnesota game tonight. Have a good Sunday guys.

Where'd you go for the pizza?

Happy First day of Spring! It's snowing here in Cleveland, Ohio. But that is normal First day of Spring weather here. :)

We're supposed to get more of the &*##^)$ white stuff too.
