DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Where'd you go for the pizza?

We're supposed to get more of the &*##^)$ white stuff too.

heh. Your even further north than I, so I can only imagine how much more snow you will end up with. I think we are getting a little bit today, but then it is mostly gone from the forecast. :)

Actually, I think we're only getting a bit, too.
Fingers crossed.

Have fun at the tournament, volleyball for us today. It is a varsity tournament but DS's JV team is entered, wondering if he'll play today at all.

Enjoy the game. Like your DS, both of mine were good enough to make their respective teams, but they're not ready for prime time yet. They do have to earn that spot.

I'm happy my oldest is on the verge of making state time cuts for swim, but I would rather her do another sport. I'm just not a fan of year round one sport. My youngest seems to now be in a Spring/ summer tennis, fall soccer, winter/ spring basketball rotation.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Had Chicago deep dish pizza after getting in last night at a place that's been serving since 1943 - good stuff. Got the Hawks and Minnesota game tonight. Have a good Sunday guys.

Is that the deep dish with sauce on the top? I tried one here in KY and it wasn't good. I hope to try the original one day.

Happy First day of Spring! It's snowing here in Cleveland, Ohio. But that is normal First day of Spring weather here. :)

Rain here. In the 40s so maybe some sleet. 14 days to fun in the sun at WDW.

We're supposed to get more of the &*##^)$ white stuff too.

According to that Canada movie in WDW, it snows all the time in Canada and you all have penguins everywhere. :lmao:

The boys did well today, finished sixth out of 13 teams, not bad for a JV team. DS played one set in the four matches they had today. He realizes as a rookie he has to put in his time but that isn't he only battle he's fighting unfortunately. He had an issue with a couple of the coaches in club volleyball last fall and they have shown themselves over the last few years to hold grudges against players they don't like.

Hope the basketball went well today.

That stinks. There is never any region for any coach to hold a grudge against a player for any reason.

Agree completely, unfortunately these two have a history and the AD at the school ignores it because volleyball isn't important to him.

I've never had a deep dish pizza. I've seen plenty of mouth watering pictures! I definitely need to put it o my bucket list...

Morning Guys,

2nd day of spring and DS and DW are home on a storm day. Not too bad yet but it did just start snowing a little while ago.

Happy Monday morning. I forgot my office desk keys at home, so I'll just to wait until tomorrow to start working this week. Definitely in my countdown to vacation.

:scared1:  :scared1:

It was 39 degrees here this AM, but is supposed to get closer to 60. You just keep all that snow up north.

Pizzaria Uno for the deep dish

Ah. I've only been to (two of) Lou Malnati's.
The first (downtown) was better.
Seems to be (from online stuff I've seen) that it's a toss up (no pun intended) between Lou Malnati's and Uno's for first with Giordano's rounding out the top three.

I'd like to try Uno's next.

Gotta try one.

Good stuff. Uno's is usually good and Giordano's in Chicago was really good. We had a lousy experience at Lou Malnati's (also in Chicago), but I blame my nemesis for that.

Too bad about the lousy experience.
Was it the food? The service? Both?

Hunker down and we'll see you when you dig yourself out.

Good planning on "forgetting" the keys.

I don't think there will be much to dig, maybe 10 centimetres. I think the schools were worried about freezing rain and ice pellets.

Had a good weekend of BBall watching. Went to a local bar yesterday and saw Florida advane to the Quarterfinals in the NIT and Villanova dominate. Had their rib rolls (BBQ pulled pork in an egg roll thing). Sorry to see Xavier lose on a buzzer beater and the Texas A&M comeback was awesome. Glad for a little break for a couple of days. And to confirm, my bracket is still dead.

Best deep dish ever was Leonardo's in the town where I went to school. Never had anything better.

Actually, I think we're only getting a bit, too.

It might have gotten in the high 50's here this morning. Did some things this morning and had to wear a sweatshirt to go with my shorts and sandals. NJ got a dusting which will be gone before the afternoon.

Was it the food? The service? Both?

Both, but mostly the service. We had a large group (3 DIS Dads and their families) and we put in our names, then waited for close to 2 hours to be seated--they had somehow forgotten about us. Then they tried to make up for it by giving us a free salad. Woohoo!

The pizza didn't seem up to their usual standards, either. But our mood may have colored our judgment at that point.

Free. Salad. :faint:

You go to a deep dish pizza place and they give you... salad.
"Great. Now I don't have to buy food for the hamster for a day."

It wasn't intentional. I'm confident I can catch up my work tomorrow. :lmao:

More life of CJ.

I would have left after 30 minutes. Mark's family is fine, but I doubt I could last around him for 2 hours. :lmao:

Actually, Mark is a good enough guy as well, but I can't wait 2 hours for anything.
