DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Have fun storming the castle.
Won't be getting into any castles this time 'round.
The current plan is to commandeer one of their ships.
Although we do plan on getting thrown out of a number of their better bars before hand.

I know that’s Mark’s schtick, but he’s in Spain, learning French.
Naaa... I know better.
Like any proper upstanding American, he'll just speak our version of English, and repeat everything a little slower and a little louder each time until they finally understand.

Good Morning, Gents!

How are we all doing today? I know it’s been a while since I’ve been in but life has been busy. I think I remember the last time I was in I mentioned my wife was in a local production of Fiddler on the Roof, which was a smashing success, by the way. Well, that production end up getting extended one week because the lead lost his voice the second week. Because of this, my daughter wound up having to step in and play a couple small parts in the chorus, no lines, or solos, but still had to step in and help out the last few shows. Totally proud of her for doing that. My daughter is in a show that opens tomorrow, so the last three months I’ve been taking her to her rehearsals during the week after work. Weekends have been spent cleaning, organizing and other necessary things.

I remember a while back mentioning that I had hurt my right knee, I felt a “pop.“ Well, I had my MRI last week. In short, I won’t need surgery. The bad news I wasn’t expecting is that my left knee, which the orthopedic surgeons had taken x-rays off, will need to have surgery at some point in the next 2 to 5 years. I’m hoping to extend that some by losing weight and strengthening the legs. Before my trip in June of last year to Disney World I worked out most days of the week, working the legs was part of it, and it worked because I didn’t feel pain in my knee during that week. So I’m going to start that again. I have PT tomorrow morning and will ask the physical therapist about that and get some ideas from him/her. Anybody here who has experience with arthritic knees, love to hear from you.

Have a good day gents.

I’ve had some small experience with arthritic joints, including knees… 😏

Maybe some day your DD will be on Broadway. :)

Hope the PT helps the joints.

Evening, Gents!

Sunday evening and I should be getting stressed over going to work tomorrow, but that's not the case. Tomorrow, being Veterans Day, I have off. This isn't a normal holiday that we get, but I'm given it every year so I can participate in Veteran Day events with the town. This will be the first year that I'll be a participant only and not running it. So I get to just go and enjoy it.

Did you get a new knee, or did you just do PT and work out? I talked with my physical therapist about working out to extend the knee, and he said strengthening the legs will certainly help.

Better than the alternative

No kidding. I've been there, so I know.

Thanks!

It certainly wasn't pleasant, that's for sure.

:lmao:

I'm hoping she'll be there, but she loves teaching, so I suspect she'll be a teacher that performs on the side. Either way I'm proud of her.

Hope the PT helps the joints.

I'm hoping. I'll have my second PT session Tuesday.

Got a new knee, which was the second of four joint replacements I have had. PT doesn’t repair the damage arthritis does, and pain relief is amazing… after surgery. 😏 And with both my hips and knee, I was up and walking within 24 hours.

Morning, Fellas!

Had a good day yesterday. The Veterans Day Ceremony went off without a hitch. It was a nice ceremony that I didn't have run. Afterwards a group of us went to lunch at a local 99 restaurant and had a free meal. The 99 Restaurant does this for veterans. I then went home and took a nap.

Well, have a good day, fellas.

I know PT doesn't repair the damage, but hoping that by strengthening the leg muscles I can take some of the pain off the knees, which, I'm hoping, will help in prolonging the surgery I'll eventually need.

Then soak it all in and enjoy. If that’s the right word.

And I most certainly did soak it in.
