DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Then they all have to intern over the summer and keep a log of learnings and experiences before the school gives them their actual paper diploma - money grab in my book as it's consider a class and had to pay fees. If you know of anything interning for LEGO let me know
What did he do? Was it design?

So, what I hear you saying is the reason there is no video of the actual work is because THAT video would be of the guy you called in.

No, I just didn't want you guys to be intimidated by how quickly I replaced it.

I did call in a guy in to replace the door last year. I wasn't going to mess with the springs.

Oh, it's just a little dry. It's fine. (nervous chuckle)

Here's the heart.

Another milestone. Due to short staffing, I covered my own floor today at the hospital and managed all my new patients and patient discharges. Then, onto HS tennis match - boys team won, girls team lost, and dd won and keeps the #2 seed.

Sorry. Don't feel like rising to the bait.

I thought you wanted a discussion. I guess not.

I'm in middle management now. Stuff like this is the only real engineering I get to do.

That's better than I can do. I hired someone to do the garage door.

Morning homies, from Mary Poppins land. Not much on today, couple of meetings, maybe a cheeky run.

Oh, it's just a little dry. It's fine. (nervous chuckle)

Load me up with some more there Clark. It is Gooo - oooo - ood!

I'll ask around.

Sir, you are a legend amongst men, and your name will be sung wherever warriors revel and quaff.
Regale tales to your inferior brethren of the mighty victory you inflicted in the battle of Drive Way, fair maidens will swoon and aspiring warriors will pick up your mantle of bravery.
May the tribe of those that dodge salad be roused by your embodiment of true virility, and be endebted to thee, for the defense wall of Gar Rage hath been restored.

(For about 2 seconds in the video though mate, there's a little stool and I thought it was in the line of the door, and was rubbing my hands together for the $250 I was gonna get off Fail Army)

Have a good one

Morning, Gents! Had a good day at work yesterday at an office I trained at back early on. At the end of the day the practice manager said I had done a good job, and that I was great with the patients. She said that if anyone called asking about me, she'd be happy to tell them how good a job I'd done. Love when that happens. Now if I can only get them to actually hire me on fulltime. Maybe next month.

Remember to turn left. Don't listen to Daffy.

(takes notes) "Left turn. Don't listen to Daffy." Got it. :thumbsup2 Thanks.

Should be fine. I have a HP scanner/printer and haven't had any problems. It's at least 10 years old now.

Our last one was an HP and did just fine, though the connection to the internet started to drop frequently. We got around that by turning it off and back on again. At some point it finally gave up.

You lost....
This may be the first time in recorded history that a man has lost an argument/discussion with his wife.

I may have that backwards.

:rotfl2:

It wasn't too bad. Kind of like cooking; all you have to do is follow the directions.

Wait! There are directions? Aaaaaand you're supposed to follow them?! Hmmm :scratchin

Aw, he's just yakking on a bone.

He got it up.

Finally. I don't know how much more obvious I could make it that I was just fishing for over-the-top praise and compliments to soothe my fragile ego. Thanks for indulging me.

:rotfl2:Given the comments I got, I probably should have made more of an effort to make the garage look a little less chaotic and uninhabitable.

Well, I'd say that's a good sign.

Tis no more tthan you deserve, my liege.....

I'll stop now - I only watched one Lord of the Rings so my ancient battle vocab is pretty much exhausted.

:rotfl2:That's ok, I didn't understand any of it, anyway. For all I know, you were just cursing me out.

That sounds like way more work than any man would be willing to perform.

100% true. It will take years to clean that room out. I'm a little scared to go back in there.

A rainy day gives me the evening off from HS tennis practice.

On the home front, DW decided that she wants a new house, so that will be our future. We have a great market for selling, but bad for buying. She found a builder in a new, smaller subdivision a few miles out in the county near a county park. It's close to a fine deal. Looks like I'll be working a few more years afterall.

On the COVID front, medical facilities in different states have different requirements for COVID patients. Yeah, just keep telling yourself it's all about the science.

For the first time in a month, I didn't feel overwhelmed today. I still had 20 patients and was helping a "newer" person than me. Glad to hear you are doing well at the job, and hope you get it full time.

Happy half way point gents! The crew will all be home this weekend but other than that same 'ole same 'ole. Cheers!

Enjoy the reunion.

Hey, Gents! So early this week I was giving a new schedule for yesterday. Initially I was supposed to be back at the office working in the fax dept., where I started my career in the medical field, helping them get caught up. Well, I go re-routed to a primary care office who needed my services as a receptionist. To my surprise I walked in and found another floating receptionist, a rather cute receptionist with, well....she was, uhhhhmmmm, talented, if you catch my drift. 😉 Well, after emailing our scheduler, I was told that my services were needed at that location and that I was to remain. "No problem," I wrote back, and stayed. Happily. (heavy sigh) I made it through the day, it was difficult, but I made it through the day.

:thumbsup2

So I'm not the only one who fishes for over-the-top praise and compliments. Whew! Good to know.

Well, I'd say that's a good sign.

I thought it was. Even my DW thinks this is the best job for me.

So a new house farther out in the country. That's awesome. Now you have to put that plan into action.

For the first time in a month, I didn't feel overwhelmed today. I still had 20 patients and was helping a "newer" person than me. Glad to hear you are doing well at the job, and hope you get it full time.

That's awesome, congrats for making it to that point. I'm starting to get to the point where I'm a lot more comfortable in my job. I'm not asking as many questions, and that's making me confident. Now if only I can get them to hire me on as a full-time employee.

Howdy, doodies....

In the office today. Very strange. There are about 25 of us in. UK Hub is 4 floors but in a High rise, so its not a huge office, but it feels very desolate. Drinks after work (well, at 4:30) though, so that should be cool.

Booked my flights for DDCC, as I think prices are gonna skyrocket if everyone agrees corridors. I just need Canada to get a shift on with vaccines so I can get there for skiing in Dec. So I'm in Mikey territory with 3 trips on the books.

Now at wheels down and the final approach for the end of the week. It's a 3 day weekend over here, so the Bourbon cabinet may take a bit of a hammering.

a rather cute receptionist with, well....she was, uhhhhmmmm, talented, if you catch my drift. 😉
She was really good at her job? Efficient telephone manner? Can do shorthand?
Well done for noticing mate, I was looking at her funbags.
So I'm not the only one who fishes for over-the-top praise and compliments. Whew! Good to know.
This response is so good, I thought Mark Twain had joined the group.

(You're welcome)
We have a great market for selling, but bad for buying.
I was talking about this with an insurance broker over the weekend funny enough, we were both saying the US housing market has a little bit of 2008 whiff about it. Not to that extreme, but not a million miles off.

Have a phenomenal day boys, may your day be the equivalent of an extra serving of bread pudding at Ohana.
