‘Morning all…
Speedy Snow-Bum reporting for Elf duty
I’ll just head on over to the Naughty List Department and get busy cross checking names and addresses for all the various pro sports cheerleaders that have currently made the grade… errr… I mean list.

From Pete Werner's Facebook page:

"Disney Magic is dead in the water on our way to Cozumel. Huge puff of black smoke seen from the front of the ship followed by power failure."

Can only imagine what the next podcast will say. Going to be interesting.

Saw a bit more detail on that last night.
They lost power for about ten minutes but got back under way pretty quickly.
She’s moored in Cozumel at the moment.

Just in time for Christmas, car is in the shop. During last week's windstorm, wind caught Audrey's door when she opened it, forcing it open farther then it was meant to, breaking the springs/hinges. :headache: Good thing insurance covers the majority of it. :sad2:

Extra bills for the holidays… lovely.
Good that insurance will handle some of it.
Not that any of us will ever break even on insurance payouts vs premiums.

Good Morning everyone ownage!!

I have to gripe for a moment, the only Black Friday shopping I did was I bought my mechanics Christmas gift cards that I give out every year on Target.com because it was 10% off gift cards. I ended up saving $30 which was awesome but it's been twice now that the shipment has been delayed, I need them the week before Christmas which still should happen but still.... How hard it is to program 15 gift cards? And I do know my 15 was not the only order that day lol but still going to gripe!! Haha

Anyways, thanks for reading my gripe or skipping past, hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Grip away. It’s a good spot for it.
One wouldn’t think that gift cards would be that hard to ship out. I’d have expected that they have plenty on hand with standard amounts so that shouldn’t have been a problem.

Gents - a very sincere thank you for the prayers. DW and FIl chatted last night. Looks like they have narrowed things down to his adrenal gland and they were pretty positive about being able to treat it with medications. The diagnosis and treatment options are a blessing, considering how a bad a spot on the brain can be.

I also think that the copious amount of bacon that my FIL consumed as part of my green bean dish played a role. But I don't want to detract from the power of prayer.:lmao:

Better news. May the physician’s approach work effectively and soon.
In the meantime, we’ll pray for more bacon. That should help out.

The performances are way too short... but I guess it is a parade not a concert. :confused3

That’s a down side to parades. With all the entertainers moving along, you can see everything fairly well, but you don’t get to hear everything clearly. The network and the Macys folks are also real strict about the time allotted to each unit as well during the broadcast. Bands are allowed about 1 minute 15ish to get on, play and get off and the “Hosts” will talk over top of about two thirds of that. The mics being concentrated on the center doesn’t do the larger groups any favors either. The balance was thrown way off for the piece they were playing and the counter melodies that make the tune were muffled and buried in the background. It could have been worse; at least we’ve hear them perform that particular tune live a number of times when watching them at some of the ball games. There are also a number of YouTube vids floating around of this year’s excellent field shows, but you really have to catch ‘em live get a real sense of the music.

Based on the plethora of FB posts that I saw, the Thanksgiving dinners were bountiful and enjoyed with family and friends. Today is my first day back to the office since last Thursday. A Beverly morning so far!

Spent yesterday in the woods with my brother and nephew for the 1st day of buck season in Western PA. I saw 6 does, no bucks. I'm hoping to get back out for the last day of doe in 2 weeks. I'm craving venison bacon. My brother got a buck in archery season but somehow failed to share any of the meat.

We went out for Thanksgiving dinner, so I probably consumed the least and have no leftovers calling out to me either. Also had no prep work or cleanup work to do so it sort'a balances out.

Good luck on the rest of hunting season. As for not sharing…
You’ll just have to return the favor.

Good to hear. Never blame it on bacon.

I obviously wasn't clear with my communication. I was alluding to bacon as part of the contributing factor of the good news, not root cause for the issue!

My doctor once said that bacon was bad for me. I chose a new doctor.

Morning guys,

Been a trying number of days. Due to circumstances beyond my control, it looked like my entire trip starting on the 13th had to be canceled. Was able to salvage at least part of it for now.

Not a good game for the offensive line. Would have liked to see them run the ball a little more. Hopefully we can win out and meet you guys in the Superbowl this year.

Rodgers is the best QB in football right now. Congrats on the win!

Hey Nemie. Dolphins are on a roll. They beat the mighty Jets last night and they looked bad doing it. Watched your game and some of the throws Rogers made were unbelievable.

That is great news.

I was thinking about you on Saturday since Pitt was playing Miami. I'm sure I missed this somewhere, but how does someone living in Miami root for Florida?

Graduated from the University of Florida. There are actually more Gator and Half A$$ U fans down here than Miami fans. That is unless they are having a great year and then the fans come out of the woodwork. If you ever see a game on TV, there is only about 20 fans in the seats unless they are playing Florida or FSU.

Saw a bit more detail on that last night.

Must have been an interesting few minutes though. I was on a live-aboard in the Dry Tortugas. Late night a friend and I were having a cocktail on the deck when we heard this grinding noise. My friend said, "It is probably just the ice machine." A crewman comes running hell bent to get into the engine room. I turned to my buddy and said, "That can't be good." We were half in the bag so it didn't bother us. They did lose one of the engines.

That’s a down side to parades. With all the entertainers moving along, you can see everything fairly well, but you don’t get to hear everything clearly...

It was interesting to see the bands sprint to their spot to start playing. Now I know why. Despite the limitations, they still sounded good.

I immediately thought of the Cheers episode where Norm was hired to paint the office and the spray paint machine explode.

Good morning gentlemen,

I see the thread survived Thanksgiving. Wish I could say I did. Stretch, DW, and I all came down with something over the weekend and were miserable. Plus I had to work the whole weekend. I'll try and catch up later. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving.

Last Wednesday we took Stretch to see a surgeon about opening up his ear canal. The feedback was the same as the first surgeon but a lot more detailed. Right now Stretch has a 60 decibel hearing loss on his right side. Opening the canal would change that to a 30 decibel loss, 20 at the very best. So he would likely still need a hearing aid. Because the opening would be bigger most hearing aids would not work properly. Also, he would need to have the opening cleaned every three months to a year. Not the news we were hoping for but at least it makes more sense. There is a third opinion we could seek but they are based out of San Jose. We'll see about that. We know a few ear specialists and are reaching out to them before we do anything else.

Good to hear a positive diagnosis, especially this time of year. Prayers for continued recovery.

Sorry to hear about your ills over Thanksgiving. When my oldest was like 2.5 YO, she got a violent stomach bug. we missed Thanksgiving. I remember an elderly woman in the ER making a comment to her daughter about me "letting her eat too much junk and that's why she's here." I did not sit by quietly. My patience were gone. I provided the lady with the facts. My daughter ended up with an IV and Zofran for her nausea. Hopefully you guys are all on the mend.

As for the hearing issues, I hope that you get the best possible solution. It's a million times worse seeing our children go through these types of things. Thoughts and prayers, friend.

Dolphin rolls..:confused3 Don't sound as good as lobster roll, but to each his own.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

That was an ugly game last night. Shut it off after the 3rd quarter. There may have to be another bet in order for the next game.

DW just texted me and asked when the APs expire. Could she be planning something? Does the Year of Chris have one more chapter in it? Will we see another teaser trailer for Star Wars soon? Answers to these questions and many more coming soon to a post near you!

Norm, you are once again correct and once again, my nemie is wrong. Flipper is a Porpoise, aka Dolphin. There is also a Dolphinfish, aka Mahi-mahi.

I am not a fish eater, but according to others it is very tasty. So yes, you could have a Dolphin roll but more popular are ways are grilled or blackened. They are also good game fish.

Jim, in order for me to bet on the Phins again, you will need to catch me when I am imbibing.

Prayers for those in need; Praise for those deserving; Disney, Dole Whips & Bacon for All!

False alarm. She was thinking of having us drive down for a weekend (Dec 13-14). Then she saw the prices for rooms. As quickly as that dream was hatched, it was dashed.
