Holy crap, has it really been about a week since I checked in? Work has been crazy plus we took a long weekend in New England to visit my brother, so I haven't had a chance to come up for air in here. Hope everyone is doing well.

Top O the Mornin and a Happy Friday Eve to all!

I think there is a completely set of guidleines for prospective BF's that are actually good "kids.":thumbsup2
Reality is that at some pint DDs will date. You hope they choose well and find a guy that respects them and treats them right and holds a high degree of respect for us dads.
You got it, open communication, keep in touch with what's going on with them and do your best to get to know their friends a bit. An always, always meet the boys so that they know you are paying attention and get to know them as well.
More prep for our upcoming trip. Front and back.
Randall - let me know how many you want. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Those are great and luv the shot at Randall :stir:
We have to exercise enough for our pants to fit. Otherwise, I would have to use my beer money to buy more pants. Or, I could go without exercise and go without pants and still use my beer money. Now, that's a good plan.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That belongs on page 1 - sounds like a man law.

Got good news today. My ToT 10 miler knee pain isn't a tear or anything like that. So received 2 steroid shots to the knee, hopefully that'll help so I can start Star Wars Rebel Challenge training soon, and actually train unlike my ToT prep, which was very little.

Nice summary!
My pants have become a *bit* too snug and I've hit the clean eating\exercise plan hard. As tired as I might be, I've been doing T25 workouts. The kids' schedules and work are killing me though. The evening soccer, CCD and dance classes are making meal times very late, which makes exercise time late. :confused3
That + work = Tired Brett But I will do what must be done...either in the name of health, or in the name of Disney. More likely the latter.

Excellent news! I got a cortisone shot in 2007 and it was like a miracle drug. I went from terrible pain to being able to squat with 0 limitation. It was nice to e able to squat down in the grocery store to look at items on the lower shelves!

I hope it helps you get your training on track.

Why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour some lemon juice on it?

Very true and good advice. Especially about the fact you are paying attention.

Ouch. After getting my knee drained a few times, I cringe when anyone talks about knees and needles in the same sentence. Hope it takes care of it.

For those that do not follow the Facebook page, they have sign up lists for the Christmas gift and card exchanges. Anyone interested in participating needs to go over there to sign up. I know last year some people were excluded because they did not know about it.

Happy Holidays?

I'm off a day for Election Day, Veteran's Day, and need to burn a vacation day next week since I am close to my capped amount of 30 days. My entertainment budget has been reduced to Disney vacations and beer money.

Norm, I never thought I would dislike you, that day has come, I'm capped at 10 a year, have any job openings? Lol I can't hate on you Norm!

Looks like over time my Disney, Hockey, concert, beer and retirement budget has expanded. 7 weeks of being a non smoker and a week of switching from Red Bull to Coffee.

Thanks guys! The shots seemed to work, going to take it easy and restart my training slowly next week. There's something very disturbing about the thought of draining a knee!

Long day of chauffeuring dds to school and sport extra curricular activities. I should have got my CDL. :lmao:

!

It has great benefits, just not great pay or any chance of advancement. And the level of bureaucracy is bizarro mind blowing - I had emails from four different people + one from my boss reminding me to complete enrollment for insurance.

Nice summary!

.

I also wear sweat pants to the office. They are Starter brand, so that makes it ok. :lmao:

Glad to hear no permanent damage to the knee. Also, way to keep up the no smoking thing.

For some silly reason, the consensus here is that I keep my pants on.

Hi Mark. :wave2:

Your a good dad Norm, since I work around CDL carrying truck drivers; you need "not for hire" decals on the Disney Wagon.

I see what your saying, depending on the job and benefits, the grass may not always be greener on the other side.

Thank you for the support about not smoking and my knee, I have been enjoying running so breathing better and DD being proud of me, means the world to me.

And on the knee front, I am currently experiencing the side effects of the steroid shots, have been trying to sleep for over an hour and I keep tossing and turning with no luck.

Good morning everyone.. man life seems so busy lately, and we haven't even hit the holiday season yet.

Well, that sucks.

Checked into my flight for tomorrow. The first leg is on Airtran, so I went ahead and paid for seat assignments when I booked the tickets. You know, on the off chance that I want all 5 of my family members to sit together. Didn't bother to check that the seats were the same ones I paid for before I printed the boarding passes. I looked down at the pages as they came off the printer and see that we are in rows 11, 12, 14, 16 and 16. :furious:

Called Southwest (because that's who I booked the travel through). They can't help because they don't have access to AirTran's seating assignments. Called AirTran - they can't help because it was booked through Southwest so the reservation is view only to them. :furious:

Turns out, my card was charged for the seat assignments, but then about a week later for some reason, a refund was credited to my card. No one seems to be able to tell me why.

I've been told that the people at the airport counter can change my seats when we arrive tomorrow. Yippie. I plan ahead and spend the money to get in the front of the plane, now we'll be lucky to get a handful of us near each other at the back, be the last ones off the plane and miss our connection. :furious::furious:

Update on the airline kerfuffle:

Since I work 5 minutes from the airport, I ran down there to talk to someone. Explained my situation and my frustration and he put us all together in one row. Row 30. Of a 31 row aircraft.

I politely explained to him how we had reserved row 16 and either asked for a refund of our seat fees, or to be moved. Low and behold, row 10 (the first row after business class) was available. I said it WAS available. Now it'll have my fat butt riding in it! :cheer2::cheer2:

Wow, what a Beverly ordeal, glad it more or less corrected itself. Don't miss this hassle with the driving trips lately.

CJ knows a guy. So does David. I wonder if it's the same guy? :confused3

It's a small world after all..

Good morning.

Well, that's one way to stay warm on a cold day. Hope those are flame retardant overalls. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Was thinking the same thing.
There’s also a few more roasting chestnuts jokes in there as well, I’m sure of it.
