Getting the oil changed in the vehicle. A fun way to spend the afternoon. Indoor tennis starts tonite.

You better watch out or there might be a team Sparrow mutiny. All this tennis you've been playing recently counts as exercise you know. :stir:

You able to get tickets for those, or are they for corporate sponsors and season ticket holders?

Sadly I am neither, if possible I might do a 1/4 season plan if it allows me to get tixs, I've been waiting 16 years for an all star game so I'll figure out a way lol

So much for my plan to get rid of Mike dd's boyfriend.
CJ knows a guy. So does David. I wonder if it's the same guy? :confused3

Did you use your charm or was it your good looks? :headache:
Who knows? It's not like I can turn either of them off. :thumbsup2
Nice job getting the seats changed. Now that you got the outgoing flight taken care of, did you check the return flight? popcorn::
Return flight is a direct flight from Tampa to Milwaukee on Southwest. Even if I don't get the "A" boarding group, we'll board during Family Boarding.

Good job sticking to your guns.
:thumbsup2

Update on the airline kerfuffle:

Since I work 5 minutes from the airport, I ran down there to talk to someone. Explained my situation and my frustration and he put us all together in one row. Row 30. Of a 31 row aircraft.

I politely explained to him how we had reserved row 16 and either asked for a refund of our seat fees, or to be moved. Low and behold, row 10 (the first row after business class) was available. I said it WAS available. Now it'll have my fat butt riding in it! :cheer2::cheer2:

Good Morning Fellow dads, well wishes to everyone!

Mike, today is a happy day! It's expected that on Friday, Bettman along with the mayor, will be at Bridgestone to announce Nashville as the host of the 2016 NHL All Star Game!!! I can't even express how long I've waited for this announcement! I was living in Orlando when Nashville hosted the 2003 draft.
Heard the announcement today - very cool. Tix will be tough considering the "smaller" size of Bridgestone. Company has a 4 block season tix that I get to use about 4 or 5 times a year but not sure how this will all work out. At least we have over a year to figure it out.

Glad you got it fixed - so much for Norms idea for DD's boyfriend :rotfl2:

Yea and I'm sure they will prob lay out how tixs will be distributed for STH, I'll prob have to just save and go on the secondary market, but looks like in past all star games they sold tickets to the game and the skills comp together so that's cool.

Made it back in one piece and no incidents. Only heavy rain was when I hit S. Florida traffic. The dogs are still at the vet until tomorrow so I plan on relaxing and having an adult beverage. Maybe download the pictures.

...New this type of situation would hit some day, just came up on me too fast - she will always be my little girl, just is that she ain't little anymore :( So Norm, start shooting prospective boyfriends as early as possible.

Yep, we all hope they stay little ones longer than they do. Saw on a TV show someone said, "If they invented a pill that keeps kids young, they would make a fortune." How true.

Mine survived her first boyfriend without any permanent damage to her psyche. Once she got to college, I figured she was going to make her own decisions and there was nothing I could do at that point. Only suggestion is to scare the hell out of them. You hurt her, I break you. The kid knew it and believed it because it was true. As Norm said, I know a guy but would rather do it myself.

Well done sir. Nothing like getting a good seat on a plane. The only thing better would be to get one a few rows away that you could use as a sanctuary but I imagine Bambi would take that one.

Time to return to the normal life in South Beach. :crazy2:

No South Beach but the Brit is flying in next week and it is off to the Keys. Can't wait to blow bubbles and see pretty fishes.

Obviously, you haven't seen me play tennis. :lmao:

Well, tickets are cool, but not at the risk of breaking the budget. Hope it works out. I want to stay at the VGF, Poly, & SSR THV, but I'll have to wait for the right time and right amount of DVC points.

CJ knows a guy. So does David. I wonder if it's the same guy? :confused3

I picture the hit-man mafia guy from the Firm.

Glad you got it fixed - so much for Norms idea for DD's boyfriend :rotfl2:

I was trying solve it for you with as minimal amount of effort as possible.

I don't think I would want mine to be young forever, unless I could also be young forever. Part of the job of being a parent is to prepare your children to make the right decision when they are no longer children. Like CJ said, once they are gone in college, there is not really anything that could be done. But, if they showed up in the adjacent room inside my vacation home, then maybe I could convince the jury i thought it was a burgler and wasn't wearing my glasses.

Hey, it's Florida. Shooting people may not be illegal there. :lmao:

Good job sticking to your guns.

See. Even Darcy recommends bringing your guns. And he's Canadian. :lmao:

I have a yearly Disney and Hockey game budget, use to have a concert budget but that was before I went to a show and felt like the ancient. The Disney budget is used for 2015 and planning 2016 budget. My hockey ticket budget will be fine. I don't go a lot so I can just put my ticket money back for All Star tix.

Holiday trip will include DD boyfriend, so we will be a party of 5  More on this later - it's not a bad thing.
Famous last words! LOL.

I'm not sure when to start shooting prospective boyfriends.
Just start by putting NRA stickers on your vehicle, bumper stickers that say, "Guns don;t kill people. I do." And make the boys in her class see them.

I don't do consecutive park days anymore either. HDDR looked fun. Did you get enough of the cheap beer there?
For anyone paying attention, this is sage wisdom.
With that being said, I will completely ignore said wisdom and run myself into the ground, complain about it on my TR and then openly and deservedly be mocked.

Yes, I absolutely love doing math homework again. And, with all this common core crap, they teach it differently than they way I learned how to do it. So, I have to learn the new math and then teach it to my child while they get movie day and field trip day at babysitting, er um, school.
I also refer to common core as common core crap. The only thing that makes me feel ok about it is it seems that the teachers I've talked to agree with me.

Top O the Morning Dads!

Considered both ideas guys but I have a 2 bdrm at SSR and wait listed at BWV. You have to remember that she is 20 so a bit different, but we will be together in the same 2 bdrm. Also future warning to Dads, mom tends to support daughters so a bit of 2 vs 1. He has been a prospective boyfriend for years and they were good friends for most of that until right before he went into the Navy - that's when they decided to be an item 6 or 7 months ago. So she is at school and he is based in Pensacola but they have been making it work. Good kid, good family known him since HS. So, as long as he gets his Holiday leave during our trip, which at this point he thinks is likely, we have a party of 5. Took a bit mentally , but he is added to MDE (Russel from UP avatar :rotfl2:), our hotel reservation, dining plan, etc. New this type of situation would hit some day, just came up on me too fast - she will always be my little girl, just is that she ain't little anymore :( So Norm, start shooting prospective boyfriends as early as possible.

I think there is a completely set of guidleines for prospective BF's that are actually good "kids.":thumbsup2
Reality is that at some pint DDs will date. You hope they choose well and find a guy that respects them and treats them right and holds a high degree of respect for us dads.

Well, that sucks.

Checked into my flight for tomorrow. The first leg is on Airtran, so I went ahead and paid for seat assignments when I booked the tickets. You know, on the off chance that I want all 5 of my family members to sit together. Didn't bother to check that the seats were the same ones I paid for before I printed the boarding passes. I looked down at the pages as they came off the printer and see that we are in rows 11, 12, 14, 16 and 16. :furious:

Called Southwest (because that's who I booked the travel through). They can't help because they don't have access to AirTran's seating assignments. Called AirTran - they can't help because it was booked through Southwest so the reservation is view only to them. :furious:

Turns out, my card was charged for the seat assignments, but then about a week later for some reason, a refund was credited to my card. No one seems to be able to tell me why.

I've been told that the people at the airport counter can change my seats when we arrive tomorrow. Yippie. I plan ahead and spend the money to get in the front of the plane, now we'll be lucky to get a handful of us near each other at the back, be the last ones off the plane and miss our connection. :furious::furious:
I had a weird experience with the seating as well. Had a flight # change and they told me I'd be refunded for the seating reservations and go ahead and choose again. Not sure if it ever came to fruition or if I never chose seating fro the AirTran flight. I booked round trip though Southwest. I did the seating stuff for both flights or so I thought! I'll find out soon enough I guess!

Well guys, the party is over, it's time to call it a day. All good things must come to an end....

Moving out morning. Nice trip and about the only good thing about leaving is I was able to make fast passes for the upcoming December trip. Need to finish packing, shower and drive the 4 hours to Miami.
I'm a little sad for you but not too sad since you live in FL and are going back in a few months. Thanks for sharing the experience with us.

You better watch out or there might be a team Sparrow mutiny. All this tennis you've been playing recently counts as exercise you know. :stir:

I think we need to clarify that we accept exercise. However, if anyone on our team abandons alcohol, we may need our legal team to review the bylaws.

More prep for our upcoming trip. Front and back.
Randall - let me know how many you want. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

You know how boring it is at 7:30 AM on Thursday all your work is done for the week? Yes, I was off Mon & Tues. Correction - I have two more things to do today at work - open enrollment for insurance and renew my driver's license. It's going to be a difficult day.

Morning guys, hope everyone's doing good and def :thumbsup2 to weekend almost being here! I got spoiled with short weeks with my trips here recently. I will not have another short week until Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm off a day for Election Day, Veteran's Day, and need to burn a vacation day next week since I am close to my capped amount of 30 days.

My entertainment budget has been reduced to Disney vacations and beer money.

For anyone paying attention, this is sage wisdom.
With that being said, I will completely ignore said wisdom and run myself into the ground, complain about it on my TR and then openly and deservedly be mocked.
.

It took me several trips and finally until buying into DVC to initiate that plan. Vacations should be relaxing. So, while I still may do a park from open to close one day, I want the next day to relax and recover.

I think we need to clarify that we accept exercise. However, if anyone on our team abandons alcohol, we may need our legal team to review the bylaws.
pirate:

We have to exercise enough for our pants to fit. Otherwise, I would have to use my beer money to buy more pants. Or, I could go without exercise and go without pants and still use my beer money. Now, that's a good plan.
