‘Morning all…
Let me take a moment to say one thing that I consider to be very important…

Bacon.

There, glad I got that off my chest.

IT'S MINE! IT'S MINE! IT'S MINE! ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!

In the very early am I dropped the Pirate Princess at the airport. Luckily I stuck around because her checked bag weighed 73 pounds. At American, anything over 70 pounds costs $200. First thing we took out was her Run Disney medals which weighed 4 pounds so all was good.

Made it safely to NJ and is busy moving her stuff in. From texts before and after the flight it seems it was not a smooth trip. For one, her aisle seat became a middle one. Also got a text, "People are Idiots." Can't wait to hear the story.

It was a great summer but glad she is back at school. Sure, later I will miss her a bit, but it is nice having the house to myself. Besides, she is meeting me at the World in October.

Glad she made it back safe and is settling in for another year.

Is she planning on trying the cross-country thing this year?

A long week. I should be able to return to my easy schedule next one.

It's more of a person issue than a work issue. They just happen to be at the same place, lol. I doubt it will change, he has been here for 20+ years and has zero plans to retire anytime soon. I'll keep moving forward, take Colts tickets and keep my eyes and ears open.

That stinks. Is that person a boss, customer, or co-worker? I've got some of those entitled princesses at work as well. I know they aren't going anywhere, but i've learned how to avoid them. Anytime they schedule a project that might include me, I schedule for me to be somewhere else. Good thing for Outlook calendars. :lmao:

I got told to come over here and get a number. We've got a trip coming up Nov 20-30.

Give me a number and I'll post up some pics from work ;)

Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You send enough to me to send to all the guys. You were supposed to have sent the dues before you received a member #, but I guess it's too late now. Go ahead and send those dole whips anyway. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Glad to hear the house is once again yours. Leave me a spot for the camper. I hope the October trip meet up works out.

things are about to get hectic with school starting next week and all that goes with it...soccer practices, CCD, etc. I am hoping to have a low key weekend. :

Yup. We have swim practice 3 days a week, soccer three-four times a week (games & practice), CCD, and youth group. I have two regular scheduled tennis matches scheduled per week, with three other possibilities.

Or…
You can let her have the job back for a while.
.

I may have to. It is all digital and I'm not sure I can figure it out.

Thanks and here's a few of pics of what I do every day as promised. If you like shooting you should enjoy them!

I am a hunter and NRA member but I'm not going to lie...whenever yous said...
I'll post up some pics from work ;)
I was hoping that you were a DJ at a stip club.

Glad she got back okay and hope you survive without her!

Unrelated, your multitude of TR's has inspired me to get started on mine since we are 73 days out. I will be doing a semi live report this time. Last time was challenging b\c while the fam was sleeping, I didn't have a good spot to work on the TR. This time at BLT, we should have a desk in the bedroom where I can go to work on my tablet. At leas that is the plan!

Pure chaos, Norm.
  • Both of my girls are playing soccer. That's a week day for each and a Saturday. Right now we only know the day for practice of youngest DD. No word on what day the oldest will have practice.
  • Both have CCD on Wednesday
  • Somewhere in here there is going to be a tumbling class for oldest DD.
  • NFL season is starting which also means Fantasy Football...so...at least Sunday, Monday, Thursday...and I have tix to 4 Steelers games and will prob try to hit a few HS games and a Pitt game or two :lmao:

And I guess somewhere in between the activities we should focus on homework, tests...maybe our jobs....

Did I mention that both of my DDs are in girl scouts, that my wife is a homeroom mom for both classes, co-leader for the oldest's GS troop and works as a retail pharmacist? I think I've determined why I consume so much coffee. :surfweb:

I thought of the firecracker incident that spawned the title for this thread and found this gif to be so appropriate.

Morning all. Cut the grass last night. Good thing, as it rained again.

And we do this to ourselves because we have our children in so many activities. I do an Outlook work calendar that by boss views, another email calendar for my family appointments and activities, and then link them both of my phone. I'll look at all the appointments and will have a little celebration when a day rolls around with something NOT scheduled on it.

Good morning boys!

Morning nemesis.

These are a few of my favorite things? How about two. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Just went over the schedule with my wife and I think I have it down. LOL.
We put the events and things like librarry, gym dayes, etc. into an app called Cozi and we get reminders. I think that the reminders are mostly for me!:lmao:
I also feel great relief and joy when we have an activity-free day!

You know, I've never even had a dole whip. I hear everyone talking about them and I always plan on trying one but by the time we get there that's the last thing on my mind. I'll try to remember this time....

They are worth all the hype. My kids like the orange, I am fond of the pineapple. Both are awesome. At times, in EPCOT, they have spiced Dole Whips.

Catch up time..

Good job!

And THAT is the motivation for rehabbing my knee!

Amen, I have a three week trip planned next year, I might need to condition myself

I just wanted to share an uplifting moment with you all.

In this group, we often share our trials and tribulations and celebrate good news and fun stories.

Last year at the very end of April, my FIL was diagnosed with Leukemia. And with every step, his odds got even worse. We went through a horrific July in 2013 where we didn't even know if he was going to make it. My wife, her sister, his wife were sitting bed side in an around the clock rotation. Eventually he stabilized and the battle against cancer would wage on.

On August 21st, 2013, my FIL, Dave, received a bone marrow transplant through the "Be the Match" initiative. Today it has been one year since the transplant and while he is facing other challenges, he is doing very well. Even recently, he was able to rejoin the gym! I wanted to share his Facebook status from today.

Over the past year plus, there have been countless prayers, lots of tears and and a range of emotions. I very much believe in the power of prayer and family. I know for a fact that his faith in God, and that my daughters and nieces were absolutely what kept his spirit up and helped him to be so strong.
I'm sure may of the DISDads here have personal accounts of victories and losses. So if you take anything away from this message, it's to appreciate what you have today. :grouphug:

Now that is some good news I've wanted to hear. That is fantastic. :thumbsup2

Wonder if all the cheap beer I see them drinking has anything to do with it? Lech and Tatra....hmmm

I hear you. 90% of my work related frustrations are due to a small handful of people I work with. Hope the situation brightens up somehow for you.

I got told to come over here and get a number. We've got a trip coming up Nov 20-30.
