This sounds like it should be a TV series on the History Channel or Discovery!

Don Knotts would have been good to play my part if I wasn't available but his being dead makes that awkward.

Disney is going to have to move Marathon week away from the beginning of January before I’ll be able to attend such. .

I'm with you. Unfortunately, there isn't enough money in our budget for an extra vacation. I guess I could use my DVC points and split a room in exchange for a ride to WDW. But, I would still have to come up with the cash for the other stuff - food/tickets.

Last year I replaced my last standard def TV with HD. I wish I would have gone bigger with the HDTV in my LR. I got a 40" and it's "fine" but now I'd rather get a GIGANTIC one.
!

I still have my 32" tv from 12 years ago. I also inherited my grandfather's tv when he died. I have no idea how old that tv is - only half the buttons on the remote work.

Thank you everyone on the boards and also Facebook for the birthday wishes, DD woke me up with a card and Disney found it game (which she knew I've been wanting for a few month) just finished the first game and had a blast! So very good birthday! Thanks guys!

Did I read a birthday wishes post on FB that called you a future son-in-law. Is that a joke or do you have some good news?

And Robin Williams too...

Very sad news. True genius.

If you ever have the chance to see his interview on the Actor's Studio watch it. He was unbelievable.

Haha I wish it was good news his daughter is hot! that's one of my crazy car show buddies, when I was working on my 1949 Dodge Meadowbrook a few years back, he was checking out the work I did and kept saying how he wished I was his son in law instead of the one he's got, so it's an on going joke.

It's a good joke, but sorry to hear you didn't get the hot girl. My FIL tells me I'm his favorite son-in-law. He only has one daughter.

Celebrities die every day. But Robin Williams, it hits home. He was iconic.
very fond of a lot of his work.

Truly sad to hear about this.

And sage advice right there about getting help.

The trip and load in went fairly smooth and he seems to be settled in now. Audition/Evaluations were yesterday and aced that so he’s guaranteed a spot in the show. Since they’re taking the band up to New York for a week to take part in the Macy’s parade this year there are a lot more folks then usual vying for a spot on the roster. There are 505 total in the band this season and the maximum they will put into the show is 450.
Congrats to DS and glad he made the show!

Bit of a gut punch as I grew up with him. Such a great multi talent to go that way. Too bad he could not get the apparent needed help. RIP Genie & Mr Williams

A sad, tragic loss.

Use to have a few of his albums and love watching him perform.

A fine young lady you got there.
You’re obviously raising her right.

When would be good for you Rob?
Well January and February can be trying in general (though not impossible), but the problem is that the marathons are early in the month. I am absolutely forbidden from taking vacation during the first two week of any month based on the company’s fiscal accounting calendar. On average that means I can’t travel until after about the 17th of a given month (and sometimes as late at the 21st if we’re coming of a 5-week month).

Just something I have to deal with but I’ll tell you it causes me all kinds of problems and forces many, many missed opportunities. In the case of the DDCC just one week later would put it into a widow of possibility, but there’s no sense in moving it away from the current scheduling just for one person.

Yes.
This is a must, but I’ll also tell you it can be difficult.
Keep an eye on those you care about. They may well not be able to understand or help themselves.

Congrats to DS and glad he made the show!

Thanks and I’ll pass on the congrats.
That’s one less thing he has to worry about so now it’s just time to get down to business. He's picked a tough profession.

How much are those new curved screen tvs? Don't know if they are any good, but I like the commercials. Or, are you going for one of those screens that make are big enough to be lifesize images?

The current plan is to get a large one. Not curved, mainly because they're ridiculously expensive, and I know little about them... Anyone have one? :confused3

Marathon weekend you say? It just so happens I am going to be there then. Would you mind if I meet up with you sometime? Sounds like it could be fun. You guys wouldn't be drinking adult beverages during this event, would you?

Yes, I do mind. ::yes::

I
Hey! I have an idea, let's all meet at Poly by the pool bar for some adult beverages!

You know, I just may check that spot out... ::yes::

Can I come?

I don't see why not. You didn't embarrass yourself at the last one. Much!

Sounds like a challenge to embarrass yourself more on this one! popcorn::

My youngest DD had some Target gift cards left over from her LAST Bday. My DW let her use the rest of it today. This one was def Dad approved. And you'll notice she's wearing a Pirates jersey and hat...my tom boy for sure.

She's influenced 2 of her little friends to start playing with Star Wars characters, too.

Finally found time to upload the picture of all 4 pretty baby trophies DS won. Only because a friend from DW's work called asking me to look at court documents for her boyfriend to see when his next court date is (was today, warrant being issued, was never told court date by attorney). So posting this then trying to get a bit of sleep before im being woken up again.
