Peanut Butter, Beverly, Beverly, Beverly, Peanut Butter, F'ing Beverly, Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter.
Was transferring money between accounts and I noticed a $783 charge from Sam's Club. Never been, never intend to go there. Jim and Paul can tell you I am a little lax with my cards but this one is untouchable. Never bring it with me, never use it for online purchases, never, ever, never. The only thing I use it for is for is monthly electronic bill paying. Now that the card is canceled, I have to contact all my regular bills and change it over to a new card when I get it in 5-7 days.
Hope the big a$$ TV they bought with the card gets broken in transit.
The TV's doing just fine though. Great picture.![]()
DW and I had some serious debate about this situation.
Our oldest missed part of her homework. There was an assignment to read math sentences aloud. My DD missed that. The teacher asked, "Who did this?"
My DD honestly said that she didn't. So DD lost 100 auction points. Auction points are points the kids get to purchase dollar store type junk\trinkets once a quarter. So not a huge deal by any stretch.
I know darn well that there are kids that said, "Yep, I did it." even though they hadn't.
So the kid that is honest sees her actions as a punishment. IMO, I thought since it's the first full week of school, it warrants a warning. My wife, who grew up with said teacher disagrees with me. I suspect she is blindly agreeing with the teacher.
Regardless, I will tell my daughter that I'm proud of her for telling the truth and that karma will take care of the liars.
Thanks guys. I have a feeling it was someone from the place where I have a storage locker. I talk to the fraud people tomorrow. Don't worry Norm, I trust you. Besides, it wasn't for something Disney related.

Sorry about that CJ. I just had to cancel one of my cards as well. We got back from Disney, but apparently my credit card number stayed in FL. There were 4 charges that the cc company picked up on and so we had to cancel and reissue.
It appears CJ has lots of cards and has absolutely no idea where any of them are.
I finished up our door magnets for our 3 night on the Disney Magic in October.
Since we're on the Magic, we went with the theme of Magical Characters. We were debating whether or not Hades qualified as magic vs power of the Gods, but they're my magnets so I get to make the decision.
He said nothing crazy. I was thinking something truly Minnesotan. Like a box of Northwoods mosquitoes.
Our Sam's club only takes debit cards. I hope you get it sorted out.
Make sure you guys decide if you're betting on the point spread. Especially if you're betting something crazy like Dole Whips for Life.![]()

So this must be you that I saw the other day then

Yep
Its no longer a matter of if your CC will get swiped but only when and then how soon can you catch it and minimize the damage.
Convenience has many costs and fraud is one of the nastier ones.
Very nice Barry. If you had read the Percy Jackson novels, you'd know that the power of the gods counts as magic.I finished up our door magnets for our 3 night on the Disney Magic in October. For your viewing pleasure:

Its ours too. Those beasts up in the Boundary Waters can carry away small children. That's the Wisconsin State Bird.

it tells you that a lot of betters don't watch the games. The Pats are still a name and the Vikings haven't done much since the New Orleans Bounty Hunters cheated their way to the Super Bowl. The guys that set the line just want even money on both sides. I work in the industry. That 2% house advantage is why the Bellagio has marble floors in the bathrooms. No point spreads. Straight up. I think it's at 3 points right now in favor of the Patriots at last glance. Apparently the bookies don't actually watch the games.
We got those too. That is nothing to laugh about. We have Lyme disease carrying deer ticks here.![]()

I thought Sam's only takes debit cards.
This is about the 3rd time on my Chase card. It's really getting irritating. I put all of my recurring payments on a separate card that is locked in a safe. Have not had any problems with that one yet. Fingers crossed.
Tough call. I can see both sides. For one the teacher really has to have some recourse for a student who admittedly didn't complete the assignment, but I totally see what you mean by it encouraging lies.
I think you're doing right to applaud and encourage your DD to do the right thing. I think the teacher could be setting up a system that can easily be corrupted if this is how homework assignments will be evaluated going forward. By the end of the year there might be 1 or 2 students actually doing the work but they'll all day they did...
I'm going to dust off my old teaching cap and put it back on. The teacher should have never asked that question because there is no way to verify it. Now she just taught her students that lying helps you get ahead. Good job teaching that honesty is the best policy and that karma will take care of the rest.
This!![]()
I can see both sides, but not sure you can reward a student for not doing what was asked. The penalty seems to be pretty minor and the reward is that you got an awesome kid there that was raised right. How about everyone accepts the loss of 100 points and you take that little princess out for ice cream! Treats with dad are always better than crap from the dollar store.![]()
The teacher needs a better system of checking the assignment. But your daughter should only be concerned with what she controls. Being honest is the right thing, even if it hurts in the short term. My experience is that liars are eventually exposed over the long haul.
Thanks for your insights, guys. No wrong or right answer, I just thought that there was a better way to do it. for the record, the teacher is good teacher, just thought this was a flawed validation process. It was more of a life lesson than anything. But in the end there are 2 things that I do subscribe to.So, the teacher is training future politicians? Be sure to lie about your lack of accomplishments.

Morning guys. I am one week into beard watch 2014. I had a decent one last year, but shaved when we got our first false travel date. DW hasn't complained yet, so hopefully in a few months I'll have an awesome beard like my hero Randall!!
And that reminds me....
Last night was curriculum night at our daughters' school. The 1st grade teacher was going over the usual stuff and came to the agenda where they talk about unique school events...concerts, field trips, etc.
We have one that's called Farmer's breakfast. The kids often come in wearing farm theme attired like overalls or girls come in with pig tails. The Teachers and parents cook up eggs, bacon and toast. this year.....
NO BACON
She cited kids with religious beliefs and kids eating too much.
Welcome back Brent. Is it snowing up there yet?![]()

But enought about that. I feel like I have been bringing an unncessary negative vibe to our little corner of the world here with my recent rants about Ray Rice, Baconless events at school and teaching strategies.
