Okay, under a month before we pull chocks and hit the highway for WDW. Using 78 to 81 to 64 and then 95 to florida. Any intel on issues, such as long term construction etc? Been happy to see the price of gas falling. Paying 2.59 a gallon here in jersey.

Although that's a bit different route than I see most folks take through VA, I don't think that there are any major projects going on along those roads through here.

Count me in as another that is glad to see the gas prices falling.

Did the dwarves smell slightly crispy???

-Here at work early myself as well....kinda like it. No phone calls, no one bugging me, I could learn to deal with this.

-WDW in six days. Finally decided with the wife last night HOW we're going to surprise the girls. We had thought of a bunch of elaborate schemes, but it all boiled down to the reality that our oldest one can read, but the youngest one can't, so the only *fair* way to announce it is verbally. Just gonna do the old "we gotta pick up a friend at the airport" bit then BOOM.

ADR's set, FP's set, transportation(to/from Sanford) set...all that's really left to do is general daily planning.

-Easily the biggest number of trick-or-treaters we've had. Everyone on the street ran out of candy. Couldn't believe the weather(cold, drizzle) didn't slow them down.

-Got my haircut the other day and they might as well have done it with a butter knife. Really wish I'd waited and gotten it done on Main Street. Always been a bucket list item. But it completely slipped my mind.

Morning Guys.

The first snow day is upon us. Way to early to have a snow day but what can you do. I'm leaving for the airport in a little bit to head to more meetings in Ottawa. I think I will visit the War Memorial and pay my respects to the soldier that was shot there a couple of weeks ago.

Have a good one.

An November Monday ownage! Woo-Hoo!

Happy November Guys.

Actually surprise the thread is still here. Finally have internet back here at work. It comes and goes. Thought I would post a quick hello to everyone before it goes out again. I'll try to get on more often.

Positive news: Basement remodel is complete and you are all invited to come hang out in the new space, bar included. Norm, I may need some authentic KY bourbon to show off on the shelves.:good vibes

Work has been crazy busy. Last year was our best year in the history of the company. Through 4 months we are 30% over last years numbers (knock on wood). That is part of why I have not been around much. October alone was 3X normal shipments.

Congratulations and happy birthdays to all I may have missed. Prayers for those in need and bacon for all!

I'll go back a little bit as time allows to see all of the infinite knowledge I have missed. Have a good Monday everyone! I did see the first Christmas commercials during the game yesterday. And Brady still beats Manning if anyone is playing football rock-paper-scissors.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Sorry Denver dads.:rolleyes1

We would think less of you for not hiding upstairs and not drinking.

It turned out even crazier than I had hoped. We had a few girls that showed up that didn't bother to RSVP! :scared1: So it was immensely crazy and I'm so thankful that a few parents decided to stick around and monitor their children and help out.

I told my DW if she ever decided to do that again, I'd be elsewhere. :thumbsup2 :duck:

It's a sad sad day when a man is separated from his Fat Tire! :(

Well, mine is permanently attached at my mid-section and seems to be growing! But if you're talking about the beer, yes, it was torture knowing I couldn't get to it! :rotfl:

Good Morning Darcy,

We had snow here yesterday as well. Covered the ground and close to enough for a snowman, but sadly a little short.

Travel hoop season starts today for us. A couple of weeks for practices and then a tournament before the regular season begins. I decided to coach a 7th grade team that I do not have a child in the grade and will assist on Alexandra's team. Let the other guy deal with the crazy parents.:thumbsup2 DS has to try out for freshman/JV this year in a few weeks.

Hope all is well!

‘Morning all…
So it seems that thatched roofs and wayward pyrotechnics can be highly reactive when in close proximity.

Who knew…
Glad the damage was relatively minor.

Agreed, but at least one week per month, my overlords demand such.
The shift back to standard time helped a bit this time around though.

I generally like most plans that end in “BOOM”.

We got the cold but no snow.
Of course we rarely ever actually see snow in the first place so this is not really all that surprising.

Safe travels and if you don’t mind, while you’re visiting the War Memorial add in a few respects from the rest of us Dads that can’t get up that way.

Good to hear from you and good that things are going so well.
May both situations continue.

Oh, and that infinite knowledge stuff...
You'll find that over where we keep the heard of Unicorns.
That should make it a bit easier for you to hunt down.

You really do need to do it. My two sons and I have done it on our last few trips. They give the kids little spinner toys to keep them entertained and stickers at the end.

I don't see any stickers????? :lmao:

No crispy dwarves. Couldn't see any damage either and I circled the whole thing looking for burnt stuff.

That's Disney Magic for you. It could be that the Kingdom Keepers books are onto something :confused3

Oh good. I'm saving this picture and putting into the 'file' with the other pictures I have of you. I'm saving them for a rainy day. :rolleyes1

Ahhhhh.... It probably wasn't as bad as you describe. You should do it again this weekend. :thumbsup2

As Rob said, please pay some extra respects for us as well.

Why couldn't they land on It's A Small World instead? :duck:

That looks awesome!

Uh, for the kids. :rotfl2::rotfl:

No crispy dwarves. Couldn't see any damage either and I circled the whole thing looking for burnt stuff.

The dwarves were probably working all night to repair it.

Such a sad day. Back at work and it may be years til I go back. Good-bye AP, you served me very well. I actually took a ton of pictures in addition to memory maker so I may actually do something that may or may not slightly resemble a trip report. I'd probably just house it here in this forum. Of course that would require some motivation.

Monday morning bah humbug. Or, do I wait until after thanksgiving before a humbug?

Positive news: Basement remodel is complete and you are all invited to come hang out in the new space, bar included. Norm, I may need some authentic KY bourbon to show off on the shelves.:goodvibes

Not only am I happy to send you a list of my favorite KY bourbons, I'm happy to drink all the bourbon you buy. :lmao:

I will send you a list of my favorites, for whatever it's worth. Off the top of my head, Basil Hayden and Four Roses are winners. Pats looked good yesterday.

It turned out even crazier than I had hoped. We had a few girls that showed up that didn't bother to RSVP! :scared1: So it was immensely crazy and I'm so thankful that a few parents decided to stick around and monitor their children and help out.
:

That is crazy. I know we live in social media world, but don't understand why people can't politely RSVP via a text.

I think the hair color is the major clue here. Also the open back top might reinforce this.

Agreed. I prefer women wearing open front shirts. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Good to see your little spinner toy kept you entertained for your haircut.

No crispy dwarves. Couldn't see any damage either and I circled the whole thing looking for burnt stuff.

So, would those be extra rare or extra well done souvenirs? :lmao:

Why couldn't they land on It's A Small World instead? :duck:
it.

What did IASW ever do to you? Stop picking on that classic ride.

Good luck on the motivation. Glad you enjoyed the year of Chris.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a thread complaining about it.

Did you find one?

I think I hears that line verbatum while I was on buslast night. :rotfl:

I've heard similar ones when I've been there as well.

6 a.m. is too early to be at work on a Monday. :sad2:

Agreed. That's why I just sit in the office, drink coffee, and play games.

.

We tried to surprise our dds once. We drive at night and told them we were going to visit grandparents. They were to young to get the whole time concept. Unfortunately, they were also too tired and groggy to get the surprise.
