Hey guys, just getting some plans together for our trip we will be there from the 20-28. I was hoping someone can remind me about the fast pass for BOG at lunch. How does one go about booking it, I am kinda out of the loop.

This is kind of a last minute trip, so are just going to try and wing it for the most part. I am going to try to use FP on the fly and maybe book the day before. No real plans other than a couple of dinners and the MNSSHP.

Currently at DHS waiting for my TSMM FP to open up. Lots of people and HOT. Decided to spend the time at the Brown Derby's outside lounge for an iced tea. Well, that and an a adult beverage. After TS, over to Epcot for more F&W. More food at this point than wine.

Good morning! I haven't been around much at all lately, but I've been swamped. It is fall, which means it is both the busy season at my day job and it is a busy season after hours on the farm, so my Dis time has been cut back significantly.

An iPad with an app that maps the yield to show where in the field the crop is yielding better or worse. It plugs into the green monitor in the picture above.

I see there are still Children of the Corn being found in the fields


With the video screen it's like playing a full scale version of Farmville VERY COOL

Good morning! I haven't been around much at all lately, but I've been swamped. It is fall, which means it is both the busy season at my day job and it is a busy season after hours on the farm, so my Dis time has been cut back significantly.

I thought I'd share some pictures from the farm. I posted this in my PTR, but boys like big toys, so I thought I'd share it here too.

The Combine in the shop when we were getting it ready to roll.

And if you're interested... Here is a video I took one evening while I was running beans. The combine has auto steer that makes it drive a straight line controlled by GPS from one end of the field to the other. All you have to do is turn it around at the end and push a button to make it follow your pre-set line. And no, the radio is not turned up as loud as it sounds in that video.

Anyway... as of now, we're almost done with soybeans. We have about 130 acres left, but we can't get to them until it dries up. Once we can get to them, we should be able to get them done in a day, if we have good weather and can get started early and don't have any other problems.

We have shelled some corn over the past few days. Corn can be shelled when it is wet, as long as the leaves and stalks aren't just soaked. Beans on the other hand, absorb moisture, so we can't get back to them until they dry up a little bit more. The current weather pattern isn't too helpful, but at least we can get a little bit of a start on shelling corn.

Super cool stuff! Boy has farming evolved. Wow.

All is not lost for TS this week if you do not come to the park with a FP. Was there at 12:50 and I could still get one with a 4:20 return time. Bad thing is if you have a FP open you can't get one. We have FPs for Monday afternoon at the MK and we were going to hit DHS in the am and do stand by. Not going to happen now.

Ride was a walk on and it was strange seeing the queue empty. It will be interesting to see what happens this weekend.

We are now 24 days away from our trip with plenty of activities before then. This weekend we have soccer in the a.m., in the evening we are making a visit to "Camp Creepy" for our daughters' girl scout troops, then I have a disaster recovery exercise at work, followed by a Sunday of football viewing at a friend's house.
The following weekend is my youngest's bday and then one week to go from there!

I don;t want to wish the time away b\c I love October and all of the fall festivities, but I am in dire need of this trip!

Yeah, technology is everywhere these days!

Well, there's still some of that. But in modern agriculture, planting, fertilizer application, pesticide application and harvesting involve tons of technology. It is cool, but it can be a real PITA sometimes too. We've been chasing an electrical gremlin in one of the controls for our corn head for about 2 years.

The whole nap thing is great in theory, but you really need the auto steer to be able to watch everything without missing beans. It is hard to keep an eye on all the monitors and watch for rocks and other debris that you might be running into a 35 foot head.

Gas prices keep dropping and now I have to wonder what time of day is the best time to buy

This morning I filled up for $2.99 for reg, 3hrs later I'm driving past the station and now it's $2.93

It only comes out to about $1.00 but it's always better if you can throw that extra buck towards a Dis trip

Special request, please post if there is any special news about craft beers at EPCOT. I am slowly manipulating our travel party towards an "around the world" drinking activity. So I'm trying to get familiar with the booze scenario at F&W. We didn't capitalize on being there for F&W last year and it's not a mistake that I want to repeat!
